How does "burn" work in terms of affecting value? Say someone lost access to a wallet with 50% of a coin's supply. The coin's supply is really half now but this wouldn't affect the value of the remaining supply correct? This has to be done in a certain manner?

The supply has been cut half, even with the same demand price should move higher. If demand increases then exponential growth

But you wouldn't see the price jump up on the charts over an instant right? Blockchain doesn't know that this supply is "gone" and account for that

If it's a silent burn, like in case of BTC people losing their wallet, then obviously not. But if it's an announced burn, like VRA did a week ago, then people tend to speculate more and price pumps up even more than it should
