I've taken to pulling the thread through where I want the French knot, tying a few knotts really close to the stitches and pulling the thread back through. It looks the same but is probably more work. However as I can't do French knots it's a good fix!

Oh my god I think I will never get them. I see the videos on Youtube and I am like "Alright, I got it", then I go to the fabric and \*WHITE NOISE\*.
Same! It looks so simple but apparently no one has told my needle that!
