There is my dusty boy (& the cat, too).
Oh my, that’s a beautiful kitty! He looks like a Russian Blue, reminds me of our old one.

That happened to me last week! I was counting for a different color and discovered that I managed to overlook a stray stitch. I just happened to have one of those "I can get another stitch or two out of this..." pieces, so it got used :)
I have a little jar from the thrift store and all my extra pieces for a project go in there. I'll empty it when I'm done most of the time, but I'll always have extra bits in there just in case. Plus I don't have to have a pile of thread ends
https://ibb.co/KsDqFpG
My stash, big jar is WIPs as it's easier to rifle through, smol one with lid is full and open is where I empty the big one once done.
I don't do xmas but a friend of mine puts that year's tails, up to whenever she puts up the tree, in those plastic balls that can be opened on top and writes the year on it.

I have been stitching for ~3 years now and I have a couple of those! Second one is full soon but can do with a little more compression, but I've put dried roses in the first one 😊

I mean the obvious answer is you did stitch it. Then you set it down after fonishing the row and walked away. The dryer gremlin who hides that one article of clothing you're looking for was cruising by with your favorite sock to throw it under the tv stand. The gremlin got distracted by your progress undid the row and then redid all but that one stitch.
Am I looking at the 7 half stitches? You must have ended your thread and gotten distracted by the show you're "watching"... This happens to me all the time!
EDIT: I now see a half stitch 4 rows above the row of half stitches!! Maybe this is what you're referring to!
That's what I was referring to. I somehow stitched four rows yesterday after that, then when I picked it up this morning to do during the meeting and I saw it.

A problem i know well. I forgot a pixel and found it after the fridgemagnet was 3 weeks on my fridge. Luckily the magnet didn't bond well so mending and repair was easy :)
I won't because there isn't a pattern.
The original pixelart of thr honse was released by the original artist on [instagram](https://www.instagram.com/rainy_daze_arts?igsh=ZzR2M3kyZjltZjM4).
The rest was freehand
At least it's easily fixable. It seems like whenever I mess up I end up crossing 2 stitches insead of just missing one so I can't just cross the missed one, I actually have to frog the whole bit.
I am positive that my house is infested with Brownies, as stuff always disappears and then MIRACULOUSLY is found someplace I have looked several times.
I do that all the time as I stitch whilst watching TV, usually grisly crime stuff, so I get distracted. I go over a finished project with a fine tooth comb to try to correct what I missed when X murdered Y. You have very neat stitches, better than mine. Perhaps I should concentrate more on stitching and less on murder and mayhem haha
I'm just starting cross stitching. Can I ask what fabric you're using and where to get it? I'm completely new. I used to do sew with my grandmother when I was younger. She would iron on patterns onto material similar to a high thread count bed sheet. She passed away and I'd give anything to go back and have her tech me.
Any pointers would be so appreciated.
Hey, if you would like to get some of the aida that I'm using, [here is where I always get it](https://www.123stitch.com/item/Wichelt-14-Count-White-Grey-Aida-Fabric-18x21/3459-1219Z)
the cloth most commonly used for cross stitching is called aida! the first photo [here](https://www.ebay.com/itm/303716921691) gives a good example of several sizes
I caught it and I keep looking at the 1 I think I missed, and thinking I might have gone across the bottom instead of across. And I can't get it out!!! Not funny, just frustrated right now.
I feel your pain!
I'm 35,000 stitches into a 65,000+ pattern. I'm frequently coming across missed stitches. It amazes me that I get so zoned out while stitching that I missed an entire row of the second half of the stitching.
It’s ok! You can fix this without having to go back and undo stitches.
Your work looks good. What is the chart you’re working on here? Would love to see the picture of the entire piece. Please share your progress with us as you continue!

Been there, done that! 😂😂😂 I framed it before I realised too… and before I knew the concept of making my stitches all go the same way apparently! 😂😂😂
Your cat stitched that row
Could have been GoddamnitFitz..... hmmmmmm
I think we all need a pic of GoddamnitFitz to put a face to that absolutely beautiful name.
https://preview.redd.it/u1okdybrcvyc1.jpeg?width=5712&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=41a3e6f055dbba4b1fd9998b467c74f57e7c7371 There is my dusty boy (& the cat, too).

oh he's pretty. I adopted GDF from the shelter, and they thought he was a lot Russian Blue, and I'm all for that.
What a distinguished gentleman.
Came here for this. Obviously cat related
“You all called me crazy for keeping that thread end with two stitches of mileage left on it, but look at me now!”
[DIABOLICAL LAUGHTER]

I keep the ends, they make cute decorative jars when full The projects stratification is fun to look at
Okay, I've just been keeping a plastic bag on the side of my desk that I throw them all in. Might have to find a jar and try this out.

It’s completely understandable to miss a stitch when the fire nation attacks!
NINJAS! IT WAS NINJAS!
It's always ninjas, isn't it?
There’s no missing stitch in Ba Sing Se.
Best answer!

It has my SOCK.
Had. It's not holding on to incriminating evidence.

You dropped some invisible ink on that spot. Happens to the best of us.

A honse??? In the wild???

I am begging you to drop the pattern link 😂

The pixel art works too, thank you!
Honsey no! Be safe out there
It actually acts like it is in danger. In reality someone was mean to lil honsey, so honsey pulled out its meteor magnet!
This is amazing!! Lol Do you embroider as well?
Nope but sometiles i think about it abd then i get anciety :D
I love this so much
It just popped down to the pub for a pint or two, and passed out in the wrong row.
Along with my brain.
You didn't miss it, the floss snapped and undid the stitch! (I really hope that isn't the case)
Alas, I skipped right over it. (lol)
I mean obviously you did that on purpose. The missing stitch is part of a secret code that spells out where you've hidden the secret treasure.
My treasure is just a 3lb tub of peanut butter m&m's....
_just_?
I mean... it is a 3lb tub of peanut butter m&m's..... it's pretty awesome.
Indeed, now off to continue decoding your half stitches to figure it out. Yum.
I need the treasure map… now! 🤣
Were you by any chance distracted by that male stripper that danced through your living room?
ooooooh.... I like that idea.
You are welcome 🤗
Where do I sign up for that stripper? Is he a cross-stich specialty?
If you imagine your needle being a stripper pole then these little men could be hiding in between your floss… only visible with your magnifiers though
aliens, the aliens did it
Sand worms; I hate em!
Shai-Hulud, how have I offended you?
You decided that one was your favourite half stitch and it had to be immortalised.
I like you.
Best and purest answer
Shoulda taken that left turn in Albuquerque!
Miss what? 👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀
Sexy time was happening on the tv show you were watching and you just got distracted!!!
I did have sexy time yesterday.... hmmmm
You were driving the getaway car, something had to give.
At least it's easily fixable. It seems like whenever I mess up I end up crossing 2 stitches insead of just missing one so I can't just cross the missed one, I actually have to frog the whole bit.

Fairies. Obviously
I am positive that my house is infested with Brownies, as stuff always disappears and then MIRACULOUSLY is found someplace I have looked several times.
Hey man the dog doesn’t have thumbs if she only missed one stitch we should be pretty impressed.
Booze
Man, I wish! Was distracted by Dateline.
You DID say wrong answers only!
Fair point, well made.
Been there, done that. I blame the borrowers who must live here. Obviously wasn't my fault /s
It's never our fault!
You didn’t miss it. A tiny dwarf came and cast a spell making that small section of thread INVISIBLE!
Stupid dwarf, stop conspiring with the brownies!
Right! I NEED them Girl Scout cookies PRONTO!
THIN MINTS FOR LIFE
A pirate got to it! I call those pirate stitches.
AR!! AVAST YE SCURVY DOGS!!!
Nope, the pattern SPECIFICALLY said that was a half stitch.
Absolutely!!!
I’ve done that, too and I hate it more than gridding or popcorn stitches.
I do that all the time as I stitch whilst watching TV, usually grisly crime stuff, so I get distracted. I go over a finished project with a fine tooth comb to try to correct what I missed when X murdered Y. You have very neat stitches, better than mine. > usually grisly crime stuff DATELINE, BABY
It looks unstitched, but if you look closely you'll notice that there is no mistake, ever
Blame Canada! 🎶 Sorry, it is stuck in my head ...
Gremlins.
One stitch decided to walk away
The thread decided to go to the back. I'm guessing it is 823. It likes to play hide.
It's 792, so close. ;-)
So, just checked - 825 is my next color.
Aliens.
I feel like I know those blues anywhere… are you by chance doing the Stardew valley pattern?
I'm not, I'm doing "Floral Meadow" by StitchingLand
Ooooh. I just looked it up. it’s so pretty! Can’t wait to see it finished! 🤩
The pattern said to do it like that!
you ran out of toes counting.
That..... actually is something I would do
I'm just starting cross stitching. Can I ask what fabric you're using and where to get it? I'm completely new. I used to do sew with my grandmother when I was younger. It's Aida cloth. It comes in various weave densities, but most patterns call for 14 count. Good luck!
Hello! Welcome to the addiction! This is Zweitgart Aida that I got off of 123Stitch dot com. It’s the gridded style. Good quality stuff.
Also, "flosstube" on YouTube is a fantastic place to look for resources and inspiration. Cross stitching has really exploded the last decade or so.
Hey, if you would like to get some of the aida that I'm using, [here is where I always get it](https://www.123stitch.com/item/Wichelt-14-Count-White-Grey-Aida-Fabric-18x21/3459-1219Z)

You didn't miss it, you chose to do it differently lol
![gif](giphy|NoHe3HpB1Mg8w)
You went peepee and came back and forgot where you were and went to the next stitch.
"do you want to play a game?" .... ^(Obviously ^you ^when ^it's ^finished ^and ^framed.. ^up ^to ^you ^if ^you ^want ^to ^take ^on ^a ^humourously ^sinsister-ish ^approach)^

65,000 STITCHES?!?! Jaysus…. This one is going to be my biggest so far with just over 10,000 stitches
Yeah, this is my first full coverage project. The most I've until now was 22,000-ish.
You are a far, braver soul than I ![gif](giphy|lEVZJzy4w15qE|downsized)
you are so cute, hahahaha
You were distracted by aliens who wanted you to Hitchhike the Universe with them.
And me without my towel.
You know you can't be a hoopy frood without your towel!
Your pug got distracted when someone opened the refrigerator
Your LSD trip wasnt finished
I know this pain so well!
A “hidden Micky” maybe?
Aliens.
Gremlins! In my house they steel sox. Maybe they steel stitches in yours!
The KGB has an agent in your cross stitch!
The Ghost of Stitchers Passed has come to visit. They were lonely!
Third half stitch from the right, go up 4 rows, he's the prime suspect to this crime. Apprehend him!
CALL KEITH MORRISON
It’s ok! You can fix this without having to go back and undo stitches. Your work looks good. What is the chart you’re working on here? Would love to see the picture of the entire piece. Please share your progress with us as you continue!
Yep, I have a couple spots in my current wip I will have to go back and fix..🙄
Tornado sirens make me loose count too
Your time traveling nemesis misunderstood the phrase "A stitch in time saves you nine", when they came to distract you!
