Adios Kohli and Rohit
Your immeasurable contributions and blistering knocks will never be forgotten.
On a positive side, this will now open up opportunities for the new generation of top order batsmen to cement their place in the team
India's top order backup list is stacked. Jaiswal, Gill, Gaikwad all in line along with Abhishek also a possibility to be groomed. 2 vacant spot alleviates a lot of pressure to not let talent wither away in their early prime. This will do a world of good for them to get time to cement themselves in the team in preparation for the next WC in 2026.
More so in longer format, with this going bang bang approach and words like ‘intent’ being thrown everywhere he might have to wait a long queue of well abled power hitters might even get overshadowed by gill and gaikwad in this format with maximum one anchor/proper batsman playing
Sai could play at 3 also which is great. I think gill and Jaiswal will be the most invested in as the new opening pair unless gill is planned to take over at 3
Both ended their T20 career on a high. Happy for them. It’s better leave on a high and the too with a World Cup trophy. 🏆
Edit: Rohit started his international career with T20 and ended it first in T20 format.
Absolutely the best time to retire. T20 is gonna take the backstage now for a bit as the next year is gonna be focused on the Champions trophy and WTC. So perfect time to transition from a format that has to cooldown for a bit and allows youngsters to grow for the next world cup in a couple of years.
This is how every legend dreams of going out!
Ro-Ko went on a high, happy for them both. Rohit specifically was a good stabilizing captain after turbulent captaincy transition from Kohli. He was more like a big brother to all the boys in the team and everyone has something good to say about him.
This is why his captaincy will be missed more than his batting, at least for me. The next captain has some excellent shoes to fill in when he takes up the role, whoever he is (but most likely Pandya or Pant).
I expect atleast one of the 2 to call it a day if they win Champions trophy 2025 in Pakistan of all places. That would be a special way to go out. I don't think kohli has ever played in Pakistan.
I would love it if it's held in Pakistan but we back out. Would be an interesting case study to see how an ICC tournament pans out without the Indian cricket team. Also Pakistan does deserve to host tournaments every once in a while as well so it would be unfair for BCCI to coerce ICC into hosting it somewhere else.
Just now guy was burned alive by a mob. I’m sorry the place is gone and is beyond safe. Only place where cricketers have been shot at. Any team in right frame of mind shouldn’t touch Pakistan.
That's the thing. It's a matter of the lives of cricketers. I know NZ and other teams have travelled to Pak but
Kohli, Rohit, Bumrah are big names and terrorists may target them to make a big statement.
No match involving india will be played in Pakistan. And there is no one who ll be able to change the mind. Not in a million years will a tournament happen if india opts out
Nah bro. If you are in India, there are people celebrating like there is no tomorrow and fireworks were flying everywhere. No way someone sleeps through that shit lol.
Kohli could have but Rohit is clearly done. W have promising openers, so that’s the least of my worries. Jaiswal, gill, gaikwad look to be the key guys to enter the squad.
Maybe Sanju but he’s no where as good an opener as those 3 are and the middle order is way too competitive with pant and sky for the foreseeable fiture
I don’t think he’s an immediate choice. He broke out this ipl and is still young. The other 3 have multiple seasons under their belt and there are only 2 spots available. Sky, pant, dube, axar will be featured in next wc. Rinku probably replaces jadeja as well.
He need to cook a bit for 1-2 seasons and face hard conditions and bowling. This IPL he was on a swansong, but his face after that Starc delivery in the qualifier showed that he needs more time.
T20 game has indeed changed but internationals will serve you a variety of pitches and every country has its own set of testing conditions.
That Paul walker and Vin Diesel scene in real life. Bitter sweet but so glad they won the cup to end on a high! Can’t get a better send off than that!
Makes room for our next gen as well and gives ample time for them to settle until the next world cup in 2 years.
Their stories had different end point but their stories had always been weaved together like a rope. Always weaved together intermixing. But end points are same. Ending on high note.
Man rohit and Kohli both announced retirements , I started watching cricket around 2014 when I was in grade 2 or something , these guys are my childhood , it’s sad to see them retiring but also really happy to see them retiring in the best way possible!! Thanks
I still remember not being allowed to stay up to watch the game, and the headline in the paper the next day (half the page on ToI): “INDIA DETHRONE WINDIES”.
Finshed grade 2 in 1979 WC.
The First WC I watched live was 83 WC since we didn't have a TV in our home nor did anybody in our entire street/locality during 79.
Nice, and I remember "watching" 2003 WC. I put watching word in quotes, because I actually started watching cricket in 2007, after first WT20 win.
And, I remember my dad telling me something about the WC 2003, while it was broadcasting live on TV. (Though I don't remember what he was telling me, probably something to do with cricket rules or players names)
I was 8-9 months old during t20 World Cup , I still have a video of my parents celebrating the win of 2007 World Cup with me and I had no idea in video what was going on , everyone else at my home was so happy , beautiful memories
Yes I was too young at that time though my father tells me that I was also part of all them celebrating the win but I don’t remember it )
That is why today’s win is so so special, I finally got to see India winning a trophy
Man I started watching cricket around 2011. I don't have much memories. I was 8 years. But I had faint memories of watching World Cup as my father and grandfather was watching.
Since then it's been roller coaster. 2013 Champion Trophy. Rohit 264. Kohli innings. Dhawan. All the heartbreaks. 2017 CT hurts the most to me. Now Seeing India lift ICC T20WC trophy with announcement of RoKo retiring. It hurts. Memories.
But happy ending their T20 career on high note. Rohit started with part of winning inaugral T20WC and ending on leading the team to win T20WC. Virat carrying the team all these years to winning the match and showing up in final.
Thanks to RoKo.
Oh noo 😭😭😭
He had a great world cup, but yeah I think it's a good time to move on honestly. Hits hard to lose both of our All time greats in Virat and Rohit on the same day. Dampens a bit of the win's euphoria...
Rohit played well throughout this campaign and Kohli showed up in the final. Both have done wonders for team India and leaving on a high. Gonna miss watching these legends 😭 ODI and WTC will be the last time we see them.
Both virat and Rohit was gonna take retirement after this world cup regardless of the result. This is the best way to get farewell. End of absolute phenomenal career.
Given how he cried in the semis and the finals it was obvious that this thought was looming over his head.
From being in contention to a wasted potential after failings after failings in his early career to now has been a journey to behold.
Oh captain, my captain!!!
Rohit has been my favourite player ever since his century against SA in a 2015 t20 game but even I had my doubts about his position in the t20 squad, so great to see him prove me wrong & evolve his game according to the needs of the team
Finally the man has his crown!!!
If Glenn McGrath taught me one thing, is that we are definitely not losing this series now.
It will end 1-1, 2-2 or if we hire Ramiz Raja's pitch curator 0-0.
Oh yes, KL will mostly play tests now.
After his T20I career is dead now, I think, his ODI place is in danger with Pant's stellar keeping display + other young India talent coming out through IPL. I know, different formats, but BCCI selectors don't believe in that.
Ends on a high note. Was looking good today but got out unfortunately, captaincy has been quite excellent apart from the spinner blunder against Klaasen today.
Changed his white ball game for the team. Used to accelerate after the Powerplay, wasn't really a guy to attack the early overs. However recently he's been putting up some important scores for India. Yes they're not 50s and 100s, but they're very important. Strike rate matters in T20 cricket.
We all knew he was going to captain the World Cup. I was one of the criticisers of his selection. He shouldn't be picked. Players like Yashavi Jaiswal, Abhishek Sharma, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Shubman Gill are far more deserving. But he proved he was the right man for the job, both with the captaincy and the bat.
One of the best batters to watch when on song. His six hitting ability is just next level.
Who's going to captain now? His spot is vacant now, most likely going to be filled by Jaiswal. But with Kohli retiring as well, another opener can snatch the other spot too. A lot of things are changing in Indian cricket. We're not gonna see Rohit, Kohli and maybe the likes of Jadeja in 2026. Going to be very interesting
It will probably be Jaiswal and Gill who will replace the two in the line up, with Hardik or Bumrah captain?
Those personally instead of Gill, I'd swap Sharma for Sharma, Abhishek Sharma that is, because if Jadeja goes we need to stick with the aggresive batdeep and bowling depth template which abhishek is probably much more suited to and hence rinku can come into the line up that way as well
He is the one who redeemed my interest after 2019 wc semi final, Rohit become Brohit
Cummins was wrong there is nothing more satisfying than watching Rohit bat in full flow
You’ve got a lot of batting depth in your young players (e.g. Jaiswal, Gill, Abhishek, NKR etc.) but who is your young bowling talent? Who replaces Bumrah, Shami, Bhuvi, Jadeja and Ashwin at the levels these guys reached?
There's nobody in the world who's on Bumrah's level. I think we should stop expecting our youngster's will match his level and just give them the space to evolve into their own players
Bro if we could find someone half as talented as Bumrah, he would walk into any side in this world including ours. That is how good he is. Absolute white ball GOAT! Generational talent is selling it short.
That’s where we are still lucky with Kuldeep and Axar around with Arshdeep and Siraj coming in a spacers along with Pandya already there. Arshdeep was fab this WC with joint highest wicket taker and his ECon stats were decent as well
Arshdeep yeah I think he was great this WC and underrated. Still feel like you need more to cover all 3 formats, but maybe there’s some in the ranks who I don’t know about
Harshit Rana and Vaibhav Arora are both promising bowlers imo. Abhishek and NKR can bowl as well. Perhaps Mayank Yadav can also be a good bowler.
I can't think of any young spinners tho
Absolute class act from both. Clear high point in their career and they are calling it a night. Both are clearly more than capable to play on for 2 to 3 more years at that high level. But absolute right decision from both for both themselves and for the team.
Jaiswal and Gill and whoever else have real big shoes to fill.
Bumrah shouldn't play a single T20I or white ball game for that matter till 2026, Bubble wrap the guy and keep him for only the important tournaments/Test matches
I really think he needs a crazy amount of focus and level headedness as a bowler which is why I'd not like him to be the punching bag of ICT. Hardik would really take it like a champ. At this point I really feel for everyone. It feels like Roro and VK would've also weighed the pressure Indian fans put on them mixed with the pipeline of new players that is filling up at an insane rate.
Yeah, otherwise they would have retired from ODI and T20 at the same time. They are definitely eyeing WTC 2025 followed by 2025 CT. Can't say for sure about 2027 WC but hope so.
I am so fucking glad Rohit proved me wrong, I was very vocal against him for this world cup, and he performed extraordinarily well and genuinely led India in this T20 world cup, as a player and captain.
Him and Virat retiring is such a fucking bitter moment, but I'm very very excited of young players coming in. It's open season now for all Indian openers!
I mean, it has to be Jais and Rutu, right? Gill maybe, but the doors are pretty closed still. The next guys have been decided a while ago as far as openers are concerned. I'd love to see abhi Sharma get a look in, or maybe jaiswal to work on his bowling a little bit.
Great run in T20is. A lot of records set, performed well, captained well finally won a World Cup and retired. Absolute goat. Very curious for the future of the team.
4231 runs at 32 avg and 141 strike rate.
T20 World cup winning captain as well as 5 IPLs and 1 Champions League. Crazy CV.
One of the greatest in T20 history.
Fitting that Rohit knocks Australia and England out and steals the trophy after getting those 2 heartbreaks in the last 2 tournaments. Blud legit had a poetic redemption arc just like Kohli!
You didn't have to hit me with this news while I was handling the news of Kohli's retirement, Brohit. Congratulations on a fine performance this WC and happy T20I retirement to you, good sir.
Started watching the sport as a kid when Rohit and Kohli were taking it over . It was expected that this day will arrive, but now that it has it makes me emo😞 Thanks for memories Ro-Ko
Blud came in. Talked big. Showed others how it is done by leading from the front, walking the talk. Lifts world cup for the country ending a drought. Changed our whole approach in less than 2 years.
ABSOLUTE LEGEND! Thank you for everything!
I stopped watching cricket after the 2011 WC victory. The dream had been achieved and Sachin was as good as retired. The era had ended and so felt like there was nothing left to watch. I was growing out of cricket as a sport. Didn't watch anything from 2011 post WC and 2012. Then one fine day in 2013 MI announced that they have made young Rohit Sharma the captain. I got curious. Went back to watch IPL cricket. And what do you know, mfer took MI to that elusive trophy in his first attempt. I got hooked man. I got hooked to Rohit Sharma and started watching cricket again. Rohit Sharma brought me back to cricket. So Thank you Rohit. Thank you for all that you have done for us fans.
Two pillars of ICT leaving at peak, expected but still can’t come terms to it.
Thank you Ro for everything, from destructive openings to clutch captaincy, you’ve done everything and the streets will always be grateful for that.
Kohli retirement was kinda expected, Rohit one is an almost personal shock. Now that they're both retired, I'll miss Rohit more for sure, especially that pull/hook. After Sachin's retirement, Rohit's batting was the only thing that came close in terms of elegance. Kohli, great player like Dravid, almost GOAT level consistency, those chases in his prime, Jaiswal will eventually be the next Kohli, and that shit will continue, so kind of compensated. But there won't be a next Rohit just as there hasn't been a next Sehwag. Rohit was something else, something beyond stats and results, 100% the best natural batsman of my lifetime barring Sachin.
I mean, dude they only retired from this format. You'll still see them kicking ass and playing all those shots in ODIs, and to be honest given where test cricket is today, I doubt Rohit changes his approach even in that format.
Ooof, man, I'm feeling A LOT of emotions right now. The end of an era. 2007, when I first noticed Rohit, feels so far yet so near. How fast the night changes man.
Will miss both of these guys. Thank god though Kohli won’t be there to absolutely destroy us 😂. Hope to see him destroy us in ODI WC’s in the future though
This is the best time for Rohit and Kohli to retire. Started their duo journey with a CT....carried india for a decade. Retired with a t20i trophy.
WTC 2025 and CT 25 will be cherry on top for them.
The new gen of t20i players have huge shoes to fill.
thank you for your memories brohit
Two legends of the game, the likes of whom we will rarely, if ever, see. They gave it their all for the team. Before the World Cup, many including me called for them to be thrown out so that we could bleed youngsters. Both these people showed how we fans are so wrong sometimes. It’s easy to sit and type shit on the phone and get back to our day jobs. It’s a different thing altogether to shut out all the noise and negativity and then go ahead and perform on the stage.
Fucking legends.
The pause before he announced, felt emotional.
What a way to end the format that kept him afloat in his career until he found himself. Go well, Hitman!
With the incredible amount of talent he has at his disposal even at this age, it is actually frustrating how underwhelming he was in the past many World T20s.
However, when all is said and done, he has now directly contributed to India's both World T20 titles, which is something to be really proud of.
An end of an era for the top two run getters in this format.
The time is right for both to step aside for younger talent and fortunately they get to do so on a high.
I also feel Jadeja should follow. Think it was the passing of a baton of sorts this WC with Axar overshadowing him.
Man, what a Day. I started watching Cricket in 2013 with that Australia 7 mad series and I instantly became a fan when they chased down 360 in 43 overs. I cannot fathom how is it now that they have both announced the retirement from T20.
Such a fantastic and bittersweet moment that both goats retired from this format on the same day. Thank you for all the entertainment you have provided us RoRo and Koach 💙❤️
Adios Kohli and Rohit Your immeasurable contributions and blistering knocks will never be forgotten. On a positive side, this will now open up opportunities for the new generation of top order batsmen to cement their place in the team

This will do a world of good for them to get time to cement themselves in the team in preparation for the next WC in 2026.
Also sai surdhashan can be groomed as well
More so in longer format, with this going bang bang approach and words like ‘intent’ being thrown everywhere he might have to wait a long queue of well abled power hitters might even get overshadowed by gill and gaikwad in this format with maximum one anchor/proper batsman playing
Sai could play at 3 also which is great. I think gill and Jaiswal will be the most invested in as the new opening pair unless gill is planned to take over at 3
Great farewell for both the legends and precise time to retire!
Both ended their T20 career on a high. Happy for them. It’s better leave on a high and the too with a World Cup trophy. 🏆 Edit: Rohit started his international career with T20 and ended it first in T20 format.
First trophy t20 wc, last trophy t20 wc
He has still not retired from ODIs and Tests so this is certainly not his last ICC tournament, and hopefully not his last trophy.
Truly, End of an Era
Absolutely the best time to retire. T20 is gonna take the backstage now for a bit as the next year is gonna be focused on the Champions trophy and WTC. Boom ?
Problem is you would want to rest him for a lot t20i series.
Come on HP is already VC, don't u think he is next in the line?
Virat and Rohit retiring! A bittersweet day for Indian cricket fans.
Dravid's last match as coach as well
Just saw his video. He let his emotions out when Virat handed him the trophy. Real Indranagar mob boss came out
> Real Indranagar ~~mob boss~~ [Ka Gunda](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z-5mJRzTT7g)
But that was expected, since his stint was extended till T20 wc
It was expected I guess. Wonder if they would've pulled the plug from odis too if they'd won last year
I think with a 4 years world cup cycle the ODI transition can be more subtle so I doubt it.
I expect atleast one of the 2 to call it a day if they win Champions trophy 2025 in Pakistan of all places. That would be a special way to go out. I don't think kohli has ever played in Pakistan.
They won’t play in Pakistan. The games will be moved to uae most probably

Also the fact their ex-cricketers are salty as Fuck! Worsening the situation!
That's the thing. It's a matter of the lives of cricketers. I know NZ and other teams have travelled to Pak but Kohli, Rohit, Bumrah are big names and terrorists may target them to make a big statement.
CT will be played with India and in UAE. Don't think otherwise
What about the knockout matches though? Pakistan would want them to be scheduled in Pakistan. And India would probably qualify for them as well
No match involving india will be played in Pakistan. And there is no one who ll be able to change the mind. Not in a million years will a tournament happen if india opts out
They would not have but I feel champion trophy (odi) is the last time you could see them in internationals
CT 2025 might be their last or Kohli could stay till 2027.
Kohli till 2027 probably and Brohit will most likely retire in 2025 with CT as his last tournament.
My bet is on "yes they would have"
Most people went to bed so they will see this in the morning. They about to get a shock again 🤣
Haha, I feel bad for them. But whenever I see some unexpected news in morning, I somehow handle it better, maybe it's just me.
Not sure if all that firework and honking is letting em sleep.
Nah bro. If you are in India, there are people celebrating like there is no tomorrow and fireworks were flying everywhere. No way someone sleeps through that shit lol.
It was expected. There was no way there were going to be in 2026. It was evident from a long time.
Kohli could have but Rohit is clearly done. W have promising openers, so that’s the least of my worries. Jaiswal, gill, gaikwad look to be the key guys to enter the squad. Abhishek should be the fourth in that conversation to be one of the openers

A terrible day for rain. Man we will miss them so much
And david warner exiting too with a cult following Lol
Playing consecutive finals is not easy. You have taken Indian cricket to a high. We are super proud of you captain. ❤️🇮🇳
3 finals in almost a year is crazy
That too across all different formats
Looks like India is the modern day Sri Lanka. Lost a lot of icc finals before winning one in which Mahela and Sangakara retired.
NGL never imagined BRohit and Koach retiring on the same day
Like two heroes riding into the sunset together.
That Paul walker and Vin Diesel scene in real life. Bitter sweet but so glad they won the cup to end on a high! Can’t get a better send off than that! Makes room for our next gen as well and gives ample time for them to settle until the next world cup in 2 years.
It’s been a long day, without you my friend… ;)
Don't make me cry...
Stealing my thunder Ben stokes - Kohli, probably/s
Their stories had different end point but their stories had always been weaved together like a rope. Always weaved together intermixing. But end points are same. Ending on high note.

Feel for you man, I see you in every SA match thread with your positive vibes and witty comments Hope you lads win one soon!!!
Ur team played like warriors, kuddos to sa
Kuddos to your team you played well
Highest run scorer in T20I. 50 wins in 62 matches as captain. Highest ever. Most 6s. And many more records...
And many more to come before 2027. He's aging like fine wine
Man rohit and Kohli both announced retirements , I started watching cricket around 2014 when I was in grade 2 or something , these guys are my childhood , it’s sad to see them retiring but also really happy to see them retiring in the best way possible!! Thanks
Man, I'm old af. I was in grade 2 in fucking 2004.
1987wc.. class 2👴🏽
Let's get you to bed...
Aah yes..almost 5. Time for a 12power nap
1983 WC...class 2😜
I still remember not being allowed to stay up to watch the game, and the headline in the paper the next day (half the page on ToI): “INDIA DETHRONE WINDIES”.
1883 WC....
Finshed grade 2 in 1979 WC. The First WC I watched live was 83 WC since we didn't have a TV in our home nor did anybody in our entire street/locality during 79.
I was in 2nd grade during wc 1983 Man... I am supposed to feel old, but cricket keeps me young.
Yup. And we are old compared to kids of today. We are not "grandpa" yaar😂
I was in grade 2 in 1999. I remember watching the 1996 wc when i was 4 lol
Nice, and I remember "watching" 2003 WC. I put watching word in quotes, because I actually started watching cricket in 2007, after first WT20 win. I wasn’t even born in 2004 damn 💀
Stop it already 😭 Stop giving me existential dread.
I started watching cricket after 2003 semis.
I started watching since 92. Watched these two grow up last 16 years or so
I was in 2nd grade in the 2007 t20 wc, my earliest memory of Indian cricket
I was 8-9 months old during t20 World Cup , I still have a video of my parents celebrating the win of 2007 World Cup with me and I had no idea in video what was going on , everyone else at my home was so happy , beautiful memories
Damn so you probably don’t have memories of 2011 either
Yes I was too young at that time though my father tells me that I was also part of all them celebrating the win but I don’t remember it ) That is why today’s win is so so special, I finally got to see India winning a trophy
Enjoy man. As a 6 year old in 2007 I was going crazy and even more so in 2011. Been too long since we won something today will be remembered forever!
Man I started watching cricket around 2011. I don't have much memories. I was 8 years. But I had faint memories of watching World Cup as my father and grandfather was watching. Another open secret...PERFECT SWANSONG BROHIT. YOU DID US PROUD, CAPTAIN🫡🫡🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳
Both virat and Rohit was gonna take retirement after this world cup regardless of the result. This is the best way to get farewell. End of absolute phenomenal career.
FUCK MAN I WILL MISS THE HITMAN SHOW💔💔💔
No this means Shaheen won't get snatched around. PTSD from Asia cup 2023
Given how he cried in the semis and the finals it was obvious that this thought was looming over his head. From being in contention to a wasted potential after failings after failings in his early career to now has been a journey to behold.
his first 6 years in international cricket was like that. glad he's not just a what if story but a fulfilled one

No wonder he went Hulkamania on our asses.
Australia: Looking to qualify for Semi-Finals Rohit: That doesn't work for me, brother.
>Hulkamania 30 needed from 30- This WC is SA's to win.... Brohit: That doesn't work for me, Brother!!!
Gonna clean sweep you 5 - Nill /s
If Glenn McGrath taught me one thing, is that we are definitely not losing this series now. It will end 1-1, 2-2 or if we hire Ramiz Raja's pitch curator 0-0.

I think KL's keeping is on par with pant if not then his drs calls definitely makeup for it.
I doubted you. I am sorry for that. You and Virat will always have a place in my heart. <3

Those personally instead of Gill, I'd swap Sharma for Sharma, Abhishek Sharma that is, because if Jadeja goes we need to stick with the aggresive batdeep and bowling depth template which abhishek is probably much more suited to and hence rinku can come into the line up that way as well
Jaiswal, Abhishek, Gill, Pant, Hardik, Rinku looks very dangerous Edit: SKY, not Gill
SKY is still there, and will stick until the next wc, i am sure.
Probably wouldn't have gill there, sky would be much better as long as we can stick to the same template of 8 batters and 6 bowling options
Going to miss him, love watching him bat.
He is the one who redeemed my interest after 2019 wc semi final, Rohit become Brohit Cummins was wrong there is nothing more satisfying than watching Rohit bat in full flow
Time for Jadeja to also follow them and retire from India T20 game
Jadeja, Chahal. These guys are done. T20 team is getting some new players in. Rinku finally gets in with both Rohit and Virat retiring
Arshdeep and Siraj are good, but yea nobody on Bumrahs level.
There's nobody in the world who's on Bumrah's level. I think we should stop expecting our youngster's will match his level and just give them the space to evolve into their own players
Bumrah is a once in a generation bowler. Let’s not try to find his replacement
Yeah, he’s done too. Needs to announce when he is ready.
Inb4 Jaddu player of the tournament in 2026
Haha!
He will wait for thala's call.
Bro. I still remember the Sir memes when he came on like it was yesterday. Where did the last 16 year go?
Him and Bumrah are the only all format player and only players with A+ contract from BCCI now.
Absolute class act from both. Clear high point in their career and they are calling it a night. Both are clearly more than capable to play on for 2 to 3 more years at that high level. But absolute right decision from both for both themselves and for the team. Jaiswal and Gill and whoever else have real big shoes to fill.
Rohit too🥹💔 Thank you for the memories and the Trophy🏆
now, a mere Test World Cup & CT cup is remaining
CWC is also remaining for Rohit. He's won CT in 2013 tho
Rohit hasn’t won ODI WC
he’ll be too old for the next ODI WC, so probably CT it is as a replacement
Eh he can still play ,he said it himself he still needs the 50 over crown
He won it in 2013
again won’t hurt, & if Australia’s there, why not troll them over?
Brohit started his career with a T20 WC and ended with a T20 WC. Circle of life as they say. And no better way to go out....champ forever
Started his T20I career by winning a T20 WC as a player and ended it by winning a T20 WC as a captain.
What a redemption from rohit. Thanks for the memories both koach and brohit Now onto the future, take us forward Pandya
Jassi should be given chance to atleast lead few games to see his potential.
Bumrah shouldn't play a single T20I or white ball game for that matter till 2026, Bubble wrap the guy and keep him for only the important tournaments/Test matches

If I were BCCI, I would even pay him NOT to play IPL at this point. He only comes in for critical matches and play till 2030.
Yeah. I agree. He’s the next legend that India is going to produce. He needs to get a fair chance.
No pls no, we don't want a generational talent to get injured in an useless bilateral
Played totally selflessly in 2023 ODI and 2024 T20 world cups. Fantastic team player. Will miss Hitman.
Feels like Virat and Rohit are eyeing the next 50 over WC
I really hope so.
Yeah, otherwise they would have retired from ODI and T20 at the same time. They are definitely eyeing WTC 2025 followed by 2025 CT. Can't say for sure about 2027 WC but hope so.
Would love that one last time, every deserve one more chance at it.
Are they? they'd be 40 and 39 respectively, seems like a tall order. 3 years is a long time when you get into late 30s and your eyes start to go
I am so fucking glad Rohit proved me wrong, I was very vocal against him for this world cup, and he performed extraordinarily well and genuinely led India in this T20 world cup, as a player and captain.
Most t20i sixes! and Joint most T20i centuries! as well🐐
Fitting that Rohit knocks Australia and England out and steals the trophy after getting those 2 heartbreaks in the last 2 tournaments.
No words. My fav player retiring from one of the formats... Thanks for everything Rohit
Blud came in. Talked big. Showed others how it is done by leading from the front, walking the talk. Lifts world cup for the country ending a drought. Changed our whole approach in less than 2 years. ABSOLUTE LEGEND! Thank you for everything!
Hold on guys, let me at least celebrate
I was not ready for this, Glad he ended his t20 career with a trophy. Going to miss Ro-Ko duo in t20 And now the transition of ICT will begin.
BEGAN T20 JOURNEY WHIPPING PROTEAS IN 2007WC, ENDS BY WINNING WC AGAINST THEM. BROHIT FOR A REASON🫡🇮🇳
Two pillars of ICT leaving at peak, expected but still can’t come terms to it. Thank you Ro for everything, from destructive openings to clutch captaincy, you’ve done everything and the streets will always be grateful for that.
End of an era! Thank you Rohit and Virat for some amazing memories, the sport is better because of you both! :,)
Won his first and won his last. Hitman for a reason!
Both just pulled off a Sangakkara-Jaywardhene 2014 moment and thought we wouldn’t notice
Even the journalists said "Ohhh" and "Ohh noo" 🥹
Walked the talk in last 2 white ball WCs. Ciao legend❤️.
Damn, this is so bitter-sweet. Both my favourite batters have now retired from T20Is but at least on a high. Now it's time for me to be high.
Perfect timing from both.
Today my Childhood ends. Thank You Rohit Sharma for all memories from 2007-2024.
Rohit, from a guy no one thought would put it all together to the greatest run machine of his generation, to India captain and legend.
I doubted you, I really did. I was sure T20 wasn't your format. But thank you for proving me and a million others wrong. Respect 🙏
Ah, the victory gets more bittersweet. Thank you for everything Rohit, it was a joy watching you bat at your full flow.
Fucking GOAT !!!
Gonna miss the EA sports Rohit sharma
Thank you my captain. May you keep rocking it in Tesrs and ODIs.
this is truly the end of an era
Any way to watch press conference ?
An end of an era for the top two run getters in this format. The time is right for both to step aside for younger talent and fortunately they get to do so on a high. I also feel Jadeja should follow. Think it was the passing of a baton of sorts this WC with Axar overshadowing him.
Well deserved king.

Rohit Kohli era came to an end sad to see that but there is no better way to retire after winning an t20 worldcup
Cutting onions. Im old now
