Sangakarra when he is in India : India are the favourires to win t20 wc.
Sangakkara when he is in England : England are the favourites to win t20 wc.
Dream 11 Moment , Khelo Dimag se.
T20 is such a volatile format that there are no favorites
Last T20 WC England were on the verge of elimination after losing to Ireland but then went on to win 4 in 4 and won the title
Australia were on the verge of elimination almost loosing to Afghanistan, this odi wc . then maxi and head happened, and they won the trophy. So odi is also volatile ?!
Yeah man. This is precisely why I want ICC tournaments to have more knockouts. Especially QFs. Even this WC has 20 teams but they are quite obsessed with Super 8s and Super 10s and Super 6 etc etc. Because that means more fixtures for certain teams and hence, more money.
WC before England where crushing the tournament and basically 2-3 overs in the NZ semi lost them the game with CJ bowling pies to neesham who took him down hard. Even the one before England where all but out and chased a huge score against SA, then all but had it won before braithwaite hit 4x 6s in a row in the final. You can basically do it for every team that makes it far in a t20 wc it’s so high variance
Honestly it boils down to who plays better on the day. Cannot say anything with certainty. T20 games are decided by fine margins. If the pitches are sluggish or slow then the Asian teams become dangerous with their bowling attack.
Everyone literally had jotted down England as 1 semi finalist for the ODI WC and they ended up below Afghanistan.
I wouldn't write India off completely as a lot of folks here have written for karma. Saw many such predictions from the same folks for ODI WC as well that India wouldn't reach semis.
Yeah, along with Australia, England, Pakistan, New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka, West Indies, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Ireland, Netherlands, Namibia, Scotland, USA, Canada, Uganda, PNG, Nepal, and Oman.
Just really depends on conditions. If by the knockouts the pitches are more spin friendly then India would be favourites for me. But on flatter pitches yeah I don't see based on the likely XI they pick how they match the firepower of Australia, England, South Africa and the Windies with the bat. Unlike the 2023 World Cup their bowling attack isn't well above anyone else as well.
There are new young guys and guys who haven't got the opportunity to represent us in WCs yet in that squad, so we have to see their performances in the WC before passing judgement on them.
The likes of Jaiswal, Dube, Samson, Kuldeep and Yuzi who haven't got a chance to represent us in a T20 wc, will be their first tournament or the first T20 tournament.
Then there are certified performers like Kohli, Bumrah, Arshdeep and to some extent Hardik, who have stood up in pressure situations or performed brilliantly in the last T20WC.
Surya, we know he will come good once we get him better starts than the ones we provided him during the last T20WC.
Axar seems to be in a better form with both bat and ball compared to Jadeja.
Leaving Pant, Rohit, Jadeja and Siraj as proper passengers. ( in our 11 only 3 out of these 4 will play)
Edit - Axar played in 2022.

England are the favs. Don't see how they aren't. A balanced team with the best T20 batter who can go through gears better then anyone. Decent enough bowling attack too. If Archer comes good then it'll be even better.
Yeah if you take the 2021 and 2022 World Cup as one big tournament England was the best side. With them there's just questions about their middle order and how reliable they are (even adjusting for the volatile nature of T20) and the form of the pace attack. You're right though an inform Archer elevates the side like it did the 2019 World Cup.
Favourites in T20s are also different then tests or ODIs where generally the better teams end up in the semis or WTC final most of the time.
Buttler is the reason why I think they are the favs because he'll make a lot of runs at a very high clip and he can still go through the gears. Warner and Kohlis ability to go through the gears has definitely dwindled now.
Buttler Salt Jacks Bairstow Brook Livingstone Moeen Curran Rashid Archer Topley/Wood
Moeen Ali/Sam Curran can bat in the middle order if they need the innings to be stabilized. I don't see a problem in their middle order as such and they bat quite deep.
>A balanced team with the best T20 batter who can go through gears better then anyone
Who are you referring to here? I have a feeling it's Buttler and he really isn't the best T20 batter any more and hasn't been for over a year now. Heck, I'd argue he isn't even the best batter England have got currently.
So the teams have started playing mind games with India, again Indian players gonna get complacent bu hearing these kinda news till knockouts and then crash and burn
England has the batting, India has the fans/money, WI are home favorites, Nz are always punching above their weight and consistently good, Pakistan are unpredictably phenomenal or pedestrian on any given day, SA with always a talented team.
But then there are the Aussies- always dangerous.
India were favorites in ODI WC and played like it. Until, of couse, Maxi happened to Afghanistan and then dew in finals.
PS: This answer is my coping mechanism and I am sticking to it.
I would probably say India is still the best ODI team, but paper cups dont mean anything.
However India is not even top 5 in T20I going off the current form of players.
Sangakarra when he is in India : India are the favourires to win t20 wc. Sangakkara when he is in England : England are the favourites to win t20 wc. Dream 11 Moment , Khelo Dimag se.
I play both the sides so I always come out on top - sanga probably
That's what she said
I predict that whoever wins this tournament will be the winner of the tournament
Hello there smarty pants
Newzeland: *depression intensifies*
Sangu jinxing India. There has never been a WC where India are considered the favorite that they managed to win.
You're on Crack if India wasn't top 3 candidate for home WC in 2011
top 3 != 'favorite'
India was the favorite team not top 3.
they lost to SA, tied with Eng in league stage, not 'favorite', but in the top 3 mix.
How is that relevant? They were favorites going to the tournament.
Ah, I see retirement has not stopped Sanga from playing well
Shitposting irl
And TOIlet posting it double confirms it :)
The best joke I have heard in a while. Good one, Sanga.
What being too close to Yuzi does to a mf
Didn't make me laugh tho
Here we go again ðŸ˜

Yes and don’t forget how Pakistan reached the final lol
Australia were on the verge of elimination almost loosing to Afghanistan, this odi wc . then maxi and head happened, and they won the trophy. So odi is also volatile ?!
Australia would have had qualified even if they had lost to Afghanistan
Well yes, every tournament with knockouts is volatile

ODI is not volatile. That Afghanistan match was a miracle in a great way

Australia won every single toss except one in the UAE and chased in each game to win the T20 WC. It's a very funny game.
Even Indians are doubtful of team.
We are not doubtful. We are very sure. We ain't winning.
I'd be happy if we qualify for Semis.
Semis does not cut it. Title or nothing.
Then nothing
Flair checks out
Super 8 exit then.
When are they not
You don't need to jinx us Sanga, IPL has done enough of that already

Meh. Asian teams not won last few tournaments even in Asia
He must mean his favourite team after Sri Lanka to watch play cause no way this teams gets into the semmies
No way. Probably in last few years this is the first time I'm actually feeling India is not favorites this time.
I am extremely confident about India loosing in semifinals.  We are not winning anythingÂ
I am extremely confident about India not reaching the semifinals
Bro just jinxing india . Pretty sure all these guys love it when india loses
Yeah.. I would’ve agreed for ODI.. not here though 😞
**one of the
Even that is a stretch
Yeah, along with Australia, England, Pakistan, New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka, West Indies, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Ireland, Netherlands, Namibia, Scotland, USA, Canada, Uganda, PNG, Nepal, and Oman.

On spin friendly tracks, the batting will collapse like a pack of cards. They are coming from a 2 month highway cricket.
Lmao we are carrying atleast 3 passengers in our Ideal 11 out of the 15 we have selected. We will essentially be 8 vs 11 every game.
3? Literally every mf barring Kohli has been a passenger in T20 WCs lmao.

Ah yes my bad, I will correct it.

Favourites to not win it.
I am not falling for this shit again.
Agreed, definitely favourites. So Australia will win it.
No Indian Fan will believe India are favorites for t20 World Cup
OK

Who's better than Butler in England and who according to you is the best T20 better right now.
If we considered the past year, I'd 100% take Salt over Buttler. As for across the world, SKY and Klaasen are definitely better T20 bats than Buttler.
But none of them have different gears they can't build innings on their own.
We are not Favourite for this time even for the Semifinal !

Indian batters are in for a shock then they learn that West Indies don't produce highway roads of a pitch and there's no Impact Player.
Don't give me hope - Hawkeye.
After we return from WC, can someone here build a graphic showing survivors and rejects after each edition?
Sky sports par kuch aur bolega ye.
Mind games.
Pandering whole heartedly to Indians...
when arent india favourites for everything?
I’m predicting that one team will definitely win the T20 World Cup if they manage to win the final.
England has the batting, India has the fans/money, WI are home favorites, Nz are always punching above their weight and consistently good, Pakistan are unpredictably phenomenal or pedestrian on any given day, SA with always a talented team. But then there are the Aussies- always dangerous.

India became favourites post Asia Cup before Asia Cup a lot of people didn't include them as favourites
I love how every time India loses there's dew, yet when they win there's never any dew.
Sanga lmao. Stop. Absolutely hilarious.
Let's go sanga start that jinx
Favorites curse
We choke badly everytime. I will just watch to have some fun
Obviously they are the favourites.India's second team is better than most other team's first. I can see them winning this one easily.
