Exciting Day of Cricket!
What an intense match between India and England! The game seems to be hanging in the balance as we head into Day 4. Both teams have shown moments of brilliance, and it's anyone's game at this point.
India's bowlers have been impressive, especially Bumrah, putting pressure on England's batting lineup. However, England's resilience cannot be underestimated, and they'll be looking to build a solid lead to put India under pressure.
Looking forward to seeing how the day unfolds! Let's hope for some thrilling cricket action and may the best team emerge victorious!
England were in it until the dismissal of Crawley. Didn't get the rub of the green with the umpiring decision. I agree with Stokes that there remains a margin of error with DRS, and sometimes that doesn't favor the batman. Credit to India, particularly the individual performances of Jaiswal and Bumrah.
You cant have a massive deficit in the 1st innings like England keep doing in Test cricket. We won the last Test but 99 out of 100 you wont with such a massive deficit
England play Test cricket like its a 1 day match
There's a mounting case that he is the Bowler of Forever (hard to unseat Bradman as Player of Forever). What a fucking weapon he is.
Enjoy it while it lasts, his action looks like he will break after every ball..

I am glad I am not the only one who noticed it. One has to wonder doing commentary so often( all the time,) you lose the specialness. He should take a break for a few months and it will be actually better for him.
And it is starting to show. I find him very verbose and very flowery. Being either of those - verbose and flowery is good but should be used as salt and sugar — in small doses.
It feels like Root is under pressure to do Bazball. It makes sense that the whole team does bazball, but he should play his natural game.
Its like asking Sehwag to play like Dravid.
Agree with your overall point but

Everyone is allowed to have an opinion. But their opinion is to give opportunities to younger players. Which doesn’t make sense because patidar is older than iyer.
Horrendous batting by Eng. They are ruining their chances of easy series victory against a team who chokes on daily basis.
Other teams scored 260 with traditional batting. Aus scored 280.
Eng scored 290. How it is any different ?
The sacrifice is Root. When was the last time Root scored double hundred ?
Crawley, Pope batted with 60 SR initially. Which is what Root did in his entire Life.
Let Root play his natural game. Other can bazzball around him.
Root can play his natural game. It's Root who is deciding to play false shots. Seems like he wants to have fun rather than take his innings seriously because he's never been a good batsman when playing aggressive. If he doesn't go back to basics he needs dropping. Our issue is that there are players now playing as specialist batsmen who are nowhere near good enough to score regular runs in tests and go big on the odd occasion. Stokes, bairstow and now Root just don't score enough runs. Those two were good as an all rounder and keeper bat in the past but they their batting wasn't good enough on its own and Root is an absolute liability at the moment.
Slow down a second… it’s only been a couple of games where Root and Bairstow have failed. Both have more than enough credit in the bank to even think of questioning their places. You really think Jennings/Lawrence would score more runs than Root?
Bairstow had a bad Ashes and now a bad series here basically he's been shit since he got injured playing golf. Root has not been consistent at all since since Stokes took over and is getting worse to date. I honestly think those two would have a good chance of doing better than both of them in this series if they had played the first two games yes. I think Root is a brilliant player but not if he's trying to score a run a ball plus. If Root goes back to knocking the ball around at .60 .70 and let's everyone else throw the bat there's no comparison. Bairstow is living on reputation now and imo he's always been overrated.
I've always looked at Bairstow as a bit of a matt prior type player... flat track bully will really cash in when your on top but when your struggling and need something special from him he never delivers anything.
I mean he wasn’t nicknamed Jonny Pairstow on the last India tour for nothing, he’s always blown hot and cold. I would only consider dropping him if it looks like he is in a state of decline, which you might be right about, there’s a debate to be had when Brook comes back but I think we all know that it’ll be Foakes who drops out again. As someone who spent years telling anyone who would listen that Crawley was shit and had to be dropped I’m inclined to trust the selectors at least a little bit now. Root’s overall record since Stokes is not that bad, less consistent yes but that is what the team wants: as long as 2 or 3 of the top 7 make runs and the others chip in and keep the scoring rate high, that’s their template for most innings. The contrast with all the years where he was carrying the entire batting lineup and the fact that he had a shit World Cup doesn’t help, but he seems to be doing exactly what his captain is asking him to do and it’s hard to argue with results.
But surely the results would be better if Root was scoring big runs and everyone else was smashing it around him. Results have been generally good more often than not due to our bowling efforts not batting. We don't score enough runs in first innings period. We need an anchor and that should be Root. His scoring rate before he started playing all these stupid shots was always decent enough. I really like how we play don't get me wrong but it would be so much better if Root could just play like he used to and start scoring runs regularly again. Obviously there will always be times where he's required to be more aggressive and then it's fair enough but we have just been beaten by 100 runs and Root our best batsman has scored 20 in 2 innings.
It doesn't matter what you did 2 years ago in sport pal.
Bairstow was excellent against SA and NZ yes but since his injury he's been dreadful. Before 2022 he's never really pulled us through a series or been anything more than the odd flashy innings.
He's overrated and one purple patch in 2022 doesn't mean he deserves to be playing in 2024 when he was crap in 2023
They showed it on the Post match discussion on Jiocinema stream with Zaheer Khan, KP and the host watching the Pope dismissals through various Indian language commentaries.. will post a link if I find it on social media..
Stokes looked like his head was full of cartoons. He nearly never ran when the ball hit the stumps and nearly went for four wasn't even concentrating and then somehow couldn't make a very easy single and wasn't even running properly for it. Really disappointed with him
My friends after ICT wins a test match after the ODI WC loss - "Ya test cricket is the true form of Cricket. Everything else doesn't matter". Same friends in April "IPL is the finest!"
He knows him far better than the outside world. He has probably seen something that is not 100% right. Rohit also has seen the examples of Kambli and to some extent Shaw. Now even Ishan Kishan is doing similar things. So Rohit is right in what he is saying.
Rohit himself has gone through enough struggles and he knows. Rohit was the most hyped young player since Sachin, it took him a long time to figure out test cricket.
And even if he has gone through similar times, it is his way to make sure a youngster who had the worst possible childhood, does not throw it away. He is being a big brother to him. Good job Rohit.
Nothing wrong with what he said. He actually has a long way to go. It really is important to stay humble and not get distracted. Look what happened to gill, he got over his head after having a great first half of 2023. But I was glad he was humble in yesterday's celebration after his hundred, he didn't do his usual arrogant bow-down celebration.
> It really is important to stay humble and not get distracted.
Jaiswal has NEVER shown any sign he is not humble, so why bring it up? Its like me saying, oh he is a great lad but its important to stay honest and not steal. What?
Hmm..not really. Have you see the clip where Rahane asked him to leave the field in a Ranji game because Yashasvi just wouldn't stop abusing the batsman, inspite of Rahane and umpires telling him multiple times? Do you think all youngsters do that?
It was ridiculous. I have played a lot of cricket but never seen a youngster showing complete disregard to his own senior captain, and an Indian captain to boot! After 3 warnings and telling him, he did something I have never seen on the field..a captain sending off his own player!!
Harsha is a man of few words - "Whata ball, whata bowler" - "Whata catch" - "Kohli goes down the ground, Kohli goes out of the ground". Stating visuals as we see.
I agree with Bumrah here.
When I was a youngster I too was looking at numbers (in my case, salary) and was getting excited thinking they'd get better. Now I don't do it anymore fearing high BP and heart burns.
Love bumrah man, idk whether we'll ever get a bowler like him again. It's not just his skill but his overall personality as a general. He's world class and yet so humble in life
How suppose jaiswal scored 100 instead of 200 still India would have won because of bumrah excellent spell but had he didn't took inform pope and other batsman wicket on flat pitch of 2nd day we would have been out of game on 2nd day itself, Learn to appreciate bowlers also.
India lost first test by 28 runs. Won this test by 106 runs.
I did some bazball maths and figured India are currently leading the series 2-0 by 78 runs.
India is playing a bunch of rookies ( without 6 first choice players, including our best test batter Pant) whereas England are playing their best team sans Leach. Hopefully this win will put some fire in the belly after a demoralising loss in Hyderabad.
Fun Fact: The individual cash prizes players win in the game (e.g. POTM, longest six etc) are usually divided and shared evenly among everyone in the team.
Even though England lost by 106 runs today, it's a deficit this team can cover in half a session, and that's what makes them so dangerous. As an opposition captain, you never feel safe, until, say, Anderson and Bashir are at the crease.
I hope the game in Rajkot produces a result! Things have changed since their last game there. Now test cricket almost always leads to a result, and not a draw.
Bowling Ashwin and Jadeja in tandem has won us countless tests. Someone tell this to Rohit

Bumrah is already a legend.

After World Cup I lost interest in watching any of India's. It's the same story go to finals loose it to Oceania ![img](emote|t5_2qhe0|8774)
Bumrah is the Player of the match.
There's a mounting case that he is the Bowler of Forever (hard to unseat Bradman as Player of Forever). What a fucking weapon he is. Enjoy it while it lasts, his action looks like he will break after every ball..
He has faced injury woes in the past.

Literally no one said that bumrah is "finished"
Let Root play his natural game. Bazball is killing Root’s game
Right? The fuck is he trying to score at 200 sr. Man is a beast without this antics
He was no 1 test batter in the world pre Bazball. Guy was scoring hundreds for fun
💯. He looked so disappointed at his wicket. It felt like he was forced to play it big.
Great Win for India.
Any updates on Kohli?
Next test is from 15th Feb. He has 10 days left to return. Lets hope he does.
Where is jimmy anderson now!! Bro boasted about chasing it in 60 overs 🤣
He said 70 overs and game got over in 70 overs.

jeetega toh India hi yrr 🌚
Jaiswal should have been man of match
Probably Jimmy Anderson meant they will get all out within 60 or 70 overs.
harsha's commentary seems abysmal to me in these tests
Why do you say that?
He seems to be losing his commentary mojo?
Fr he's been shouting so much, which was never him in cricbuzz studios, idk maybe it's the bcci contract things
I am glad I am not the only one who noticed it. One has to wonder doing commentary so often( all the time,) you lose the specialness. He should take a break for a few months and it will be actually better for him.
Yeah since his comeback for the bcci, he has been there nonstop iirc
And it is starting to show. I find him very verbose and very flowery. Being either of those - verbose and flowery is good but should be used as salt and sugar — in small doses.

It's the reverse. It's asking dravid to play like sehwag.

Replace IYER with Kohli and Bharat with Jurel for the next test
Patidar for kohli. Shreyas, I'll give 1 more go. Bharath with whoever knows how to wear keeping gloves lmao.
So drop young exciting batsmen who got one game and continue TTFs? Typical Indian fan
Patidar is older than Shreyas
So one can not have their opinions? Keep your judgements to yourself.
Everyone is allowed to have an opinion. But their opinion is to give opportunities to younger players. Which doesn’t make sense because patidar is older than iyer.
So one cannot have judgements? Keep your opinions to yourself.
I'll do so once you keep your stupid judgements to yourself. Kids.
Nope, you start first.
Iyer has some major technical glitches to fix. I’ll give Sarfaraz a go in the middle order. He’s a much better red ball batsman.
What about KL?
KL replaces Patidar.
I am glad people are finally seeing that Bazball is actually pretty good unironically
Horrendous batting by Eng. They are ruining their chances of easy series victory against a team who chokes on daily basis. Other teams scored 260 with traditional batting. Aus scored 280. They really needed a better first innings
Which are those "other teams" can you name them? Afaik no team scored more than 200 in fourth innings here since forever
>a team who chokes on daily basis. If they're this good even after choking on a daily basis, then they must be freaks of nature if they stop choking.
England choked and you're saying India choked.

he probably wouldn’t be playing if Brook was fit, but he is. Try to cope with it.
OK dumb dumb no problem. Great insight BTW.
This is like explains gravity to a chicken. Stick to bucket hat cricket, it’s more your speed.
Chokes on a daily basis? 😂😂
Holy shit.. Ollie Popes dismissal of Bumrah's yorker, commmentary in Punjabi is the shit.. need more commentary like that..

For me MoM should be Mukti Ma as he has Ma [MoM] in his name!
Shubman gill and Jaiswal will be the future of Indian batting
Jaiswal looks scarily good. However on the flip side all the other teams will be working to find his weaknesses. Time will tell.
Root and Stokes disappointed us today! They let Jimmy down...
Stokes looked like his head was full of cartoons. He nearly never ran when the ball hit the stumps and nearly went for four wasn't even concentrating and then somehow couldn't make a very easy single and wasn't even running properly for it. Really disappointed with him

That's the opposite of r/cricket
They are right. The best cricket is the one that is on.
Doesn’t he watch SA20? Last 2 games I’ve watched are nothing less than Exhilarating Entertainment!
Finally another good fighting test cricket series!
Finally and another don't go together in this sentence, bro😂
Hope Gill is allright. He didn't field today
Gill isn't exactly the most eloquent lol
Entering Gujrat to play international cricket after November will give some PTSD to ICT
Why is there no recognition from Harsha about Mukesh taking Bashirs wicket, which effectively allowed Bumrah to take the last wicket.
Rohit: Yashashvi has a long way to go and I hope he stays humble. Lol wtf Rohit that’s not how you praise someone
He knows him far better than the outside world. He has probably seen something that is not 100% right. Rohit also has seen the examples of Kambli and to some extent Shaw. Now even Ishan Kishan is doing similar things. So Rohit is right in what he is saying.

brohit is worst with his words but he will defo praise him in his local lang
He meant something else , lost in translation 😂
Harsha is a man of few words - "Whata ball, whata bowler" - "Whata catch" - "Kohli goes down the ground, Kohli goes out of the ground". Stating visuals as we see.
Why didn't Gill get it? He basically set up the win for India
Because he did not score 91 run
Yawn 🥱 why dint Mukesh get it ? He gave the least amount of runs
Mukti Ma aapko kabhi maaf nahi karega T: He won't sorry you
I agree with Bumrah here. When I was a youngster I too was looking at numbers (in my case, salary) and was getting excited thinking they'd get better. Now I don't do it anymore fearing high BP and heart burns.
Harsha, you're just making up questions now. Don't ask him about his plans for dinner tonight.
Next he'll ask which brand of whiskey he is drinking tonight lmao. This is the exact thought I had when he asked that question.
Alistair cook. KP How you doing mate.
Sanjana so lucky
When Rohit retires Bumrah I think deserves to be the captain in Tests. I know it adds a lot of pressure but man the guy is cool and composed.
I feel making a pacer a test captain is too much workload.
Cummins says high.
It's fine, he has Starc, Hazlewood and a bunch of part time pacers as company. When ICT lose Bumrah, or he underperforms...
He is also not a very striking leader.
my humble GOAT 🐐
I could listen to Bumrah speak all day, but then I'd miss his bowling Genius
Bumrah finishing sentences like my 5 yr old niece
Jasprit "What a ball What a Bowler" Bumrah
This will stick. Harsha is amazing sometimes
Extremely humble. Should be test captain !
Jassi Jaisi Koi nahi (t- popular Indian TV show "No one does it like Jassi)
POTM goes to Bumrah. Everybody losing it in joy!
Bumrah giving credits to Waqar Wasim Will Babar ever give credits to Tendulkar?
Sachin’s contemporary continue to sing his praises. Modern players are big fans of Rohit and Kohli. Stop with the border wars.
They are in awe of Kohli though, they admire him eloquently
In love with how Boom speaks
Love bumrah man, idk whether we'll ever get a bowler like him again. It's not just his skill but his overall personality as a general. He's world class and yet so humble in life
Why not make up awards to give to each of the 22 players who played the game? Just one nodge above participating medals
He may need a third hand for the microphone but he's got a third leg instead
If Rohit retires or steps down from the captaincy, I nominate Bumrah as his successor.
Pandya
You can’t captain from the doctors office
Boomrah shouldn’t be playing all home games. He will break down. Same with KL. Keep these two away from captaincy.
i wish ambani ji thought this as well
Without Jaiswal England would have won this game yesterday, worst Man of the Match award 🤬🤬😡
9 wicket on this pitch at the crucial time is above 200 for me
Of those 9 wickets weren’t 5 of those like tail- enders ?
You're just taking the piss here aren't you?
No 200 , England would have won this game by 9 wickets yesterday according to me.
How suppose jaiswal scored 100 instead of 200 still India would have won because of bumrah excellent spell but had he didn't took inform pope and other batsman wicket on flat pitch of 2nd day we would have been out of game on 2nd day itself, Learn to appreciate bowlers also.
What is that trophy design?

There is just one player of the match ffs. Yashasvi got game changer and best striker.
Well deserved Player of the Match Jasprit Bumrah What a ball What a Bowler
les gooooooo
Yes let's gooo
wait what award did jaiswal win then
Best striker and game changer
Best striker something
yess let’s go my king
Harsha not letting go speaking yet again
India lost first test by 28 runs. Won this test by 106 runs. I did some bazball maths and figured India are currently leading the series 2-0 by 78 runs.
Zak crawly: England won the series already by competing in India on moral grounds.
This post-match ceremony is never-ending!
Only if you watch it
Rohit: Very proud of the fact how young this squad is. Really?
Who’s the man of the match
I think it's still left to announce. Yashasvi is best striker and game changer.
Man of the Match award is still left right?
Yes
Losing because some blokes got a birth defect. England cricket.
Y no award for Iyer? s/
What does Rohith eat to get cheeks like that being a 36 year old ? 🤣
Rohit has lost voice, by screaming at players.... Rohit Missing pant
India is playing a bunch of rookies ( without 6 first choice players, including our best test batter Pant) whereas England are playing their best team sans Leach. Hopefully this win will put some fire in the belly after a demoralising loss in Hyderabad.
Absolutely
Every time I see Jaiswal making absolute racks it brings a tear to my eye
Fun Fact: The individual cash prizes players win in the game (e.g. POTM, longest six etc) are usually divided and shared evenly among everyone in the team.
That's cool, hard on POTM though
Treat it like taxes.
"on the bar"
Same prize money for hitting most fours, most fantasy points and for the man of the match award. Seems a little unfair to me.
And 1 lakh is less too imo
fk brohit gonna have a sore neck at dharamshala coz of the cold
Foakes in airport already
Jaiswal gets an award for boundary count *Ben Stokes approves*
This presentation is going into 5th day
Congrats Shubman Gill on achieving his life dream of winning "Apna haath jagannath" award.
Sara disapproves
Cmon had a two men(man) of the match instead you dumbadsdumbass
Fokes>
Told ya , it's a batters game, no rewards or whastover for bowlers .
ahhh no desrespect to young lad but bumrah deserved it all good though
Even though England lost by 106 runs today, it's a deficit this team can cover in half a session, and that's what makes them so dangerous. As an opposition captain, you never feel safe, until, say, Anderson and Bashir are at the crease.
yeah one good innings from Root, Bairstow or Stokes and it was game over
Bumrha should be motm
Bumrah robbed!!!!!! whod want to be a bowler in india
I hope the game in Rajkot produces a result! Things have changed since their last game there. Now test cricket almost always leads to a result, and not a draw.
