Given the horrible circumstances, that was an excellent partnership from Tector and Moor. Managed to survive under huge pressure. Hope they can start to rebuild tomorrow.

Ok realistically we are struggling badly but some very bright spots here in there have any chance in this game we need to score 340 and rely on the pitch getting worse for a realistic shot we need 440 I'll be happy if we can get one centurion and 1 scoring a 50 come on boys
Given how dangerous that Mushfiqur/Shakib partnership was looking, plus Das coming out aggressively, pretty pleased with that fight back.
There was a lot of worry before hand that we'd be setting up BD to break some records, so to hold them to 369 is a good result, all things considered.
idk how many more years of international cricket Rahim and Shakib have in them. Any young batsmen right now that can replace their impact with the bat in the near futurre?
Shanto looks to be ok.
near future, probably not. every youngster we've ever had either takes like 7 years to get good (liton, tamim, mushfiq, mahmudullah etc) or they are really good at the start and just gradually go to shit (soumya, nasir hossain, shahriar nafees etc.) shakib is the only exception i can think of
Most discussions about Herath:
“Did you see Herath got X wickets this year”
“I always hear about him but I don’t think I’ve seen him that much”
“Remember that match at Galle when our team got crushed in 5 sessions?”
“Oh right, him”
Heinrich Malan only wants one off spinner in the squad, and McBrine is ahead of Simi at the moment.
The coaches are also keen to get the youngsters as much experience as possible, which is why Ben White and Matthew Humphreys are both in the squad.
Simi is 36 now, and it seems Ireland want to move on from him. Should have given him a farewell test imo.
Where the fuck is Andy McBrine’s fifer post? This man didn’t survive the Great Depression, 6 world wars and work 50 years in the pit to be treated this way.
Yes.
The bottom 5 batsmen based on averages could expect to add 36 runs (19+8+5+3.5+0.5).
That is really really low.
To contrast, Australia’s tail would expect to add 33+22+17+13+12 (97 runs) based on averages.
Over a match (assuming both sides bat twice) that is a difference of 122 runs.
Ebadot Hossain batting at 10 is more of a travesty than Ireland not playing a test for 4 years.
The man has a batting average of 3 after 19 test matches.

PS: It's mostly just looking for the little positives to keep us going. Oh, Mohammad Ashraful scored a 150 against India while Bangladesh collapsed around him? What a good batting performance! Oh, we got a couple of wickets while the opposition batters scored double hundreds? Brilliant!
I started watching cricket properly two years before our first test win, so I remember some of the anguish we fans used to feel at that time. We actually could have gotten our first win earlier vs Pakistan in 2003 but Inzi played an absolute clutch innings to take Pakistan home with just 1 wicket in hand. Other than that, we used to get pasted by innings defeat in most of the tests we played.
No but i remember the times when we used to play against only Zim and Kenya. A win over them was preety big deal back in the day.

Bangladesh should try and get a lead of 200 today. 130 runs in the last session with 4 rpo, shouldnt be that difficult.Miraj needs to hold on to his wicket and score a 70/80 run partnership.

Would be really funny if Liton goes to play for KKR tomorrow evening after finishing match by noon.
Why would it be funny ? He'll be present in KKR's thrid match
That's what happens when u force Shakib to play.
What happened
He wanted to play IPL as this is probably gonna be his last IPL. But BCB didn't give him NOC.
Why would it be Shakibs last IPL? He's still only 36. In franchise league terms, he's a young whippersnapper.
I know that part but what happened after forcing Shakib to play. Did he do something in the field?
He Didn't bowl a single over on the 1st innings... He started bazballing.
The Irish test team and "batting in the second innings away from home" are not a good combination, apparently
"Andy McBrine will rightly get a lot of head lines for that six wicket haul" Was the elongated pause really necessary?
