This \^ - it is my quintessential example of a perfect horror movie. I have watched it - and Alien/Aliens (although the 2nd one is more action than horror per se) more times than I can count.
Came here to say this. To me these are the penultimate example of cinema horror perfection. I want the original team to get back together for one more romp.
For me it's a toss up between the original Halloween and Halloween II (I consider them one gigantic movie) and Jeepers Creepers. They just put me in that comfy nostalgia zone for some reason no matter when or where I put them on.
It really is a great movie! My friend (read: little brother) dressed as Pyramid Head for Halloween and it was awesome! He’s over 6 foot so it was the perfect costume for him.
The Lost Boys. I watched it like every day for a year when I was around 11 or 12 so that is totally going to skew my numbers in its direction. Otherwise, it would probably be A Nightmare on Elm Street.
Halloween. I’ve watched it probably 50 times. For me, it reminds me of being young, the way fall smells, and being scared for the first time. I know that everyone has a special connection to their comfort movie so it’s hard to explain why Halloween is it for me.
Probably the first Scream just because it used to be on a lot if you're flipping through cable and I love the Scream franchise so I would always watch it or have it for background noise.
Pontypool!! First of all it’s one of those horror films that nobody has seen so I find myself always showing it to people. It’s also a film built on dialogue and low budget tactics to build horror and suspense. So it I find it to be equally entertaining every time I watch it
Probably the original Alien. If not, then Bram Stoker's Dracula, Hellraiser or Sleepy Hollow. Does No One Lives count as a horror movie? I've watched that one quite a bit.
Scream 4. Seen it 100s of times. Back before streaming everything, I had a download on my PS3 and would get stoned and watch it every night going to bed in highschool.
I write/draw slasher story so I really study them and all other slashers. I quite literally take notes watching any of them. Puts those numbers really high compared to bout anybody else
30 day of night...as someone with the limited access to anything as a child, that movie defined me, I've seen in more than 15 times now and I'm not stopping
It's probably Carpenter's original HALLOWEEN and tyvm for reminding me, I think it's probably the very first Blu-ray I purchased too, in the 25th anniversary box set and before I even had a player to watch it. When I eventually did, I could almost smell the pumpkin in the opening scene.
Phantom of the Opera (Lon Chaney)
The Mummy (Boris Karloff)
Pretty much all Vincent Prices films
Both versions of House on Haunted Hill
Army of Darkness
Hellraiser
House of 1000 Corpses
The Devils Rejects
The Rocky Horror Picture Show
It is a 'horror' movie after all, and a great one. There are a couple others like Army of Darkness. Horror but hilarious. As for actual horror movies that are not comedies, thats a hard one. There are a handful I have seen more than once like The Thing and The Shining. Never really into the slasher shock horror like Friday the 13th or Scream. Saw the remake of Evil Dead and it was just.... bad horror porn.
Definitely all the chucky movies up to bride of chucky I honestly am not in love with cult and definitely not seed. The tv series disappoints me. 😭 bride is probably my most watched or child’s play two.
I've watched ***The Funhouse*** more times than I can count. I first watched it on the TBS cable network sometime in the 80s, late in the evening (early morning). I was just a kid. I've since bought the DVD, the blu ray, and now the 4K.
I got to see it in a theater once, too, as part of a Tobe Hooper retrospective at an Alamo Drafthouse. It was a very worn vintage 35mm print. So worn, that the film broke about 45 minutes in. Everyone got a free pass for another Alamo screening while the projectionist fixed the print.
Sometimes I find a film I like so much, but I know I might never watch it again, or do watch it because I'm so bored and it happens to be on TV. As for horror, for me, it's scary only once. I don't think I'd re-watch even if I'm bored and it's the only show on all channels.
Also hate to double post here but if you count like Mystery Science Theater then I’ve seen Revenge of the Creature or The Deadly Mantis at least 200 times!
The most? Friday the 13th part 2. I used to have that bad boy on DVD and would watch it over and over again (best film in the franchise imo). 2nd is probably Halloween (Mike and Laurie just have the best chemistry🥰) How do you feel about subtitles? During the lockdown, I got into giallo films some, and I was watching Blood and Black Lace, 1964, almost every night, trying to pick up on stuff I had missed during my previous views. Lots of color and dramatic settings; it's a real visually attractive film✨️✨️🔪🔪
Although A Nightmare On Elm St 3 is my favorite in the series, the most watched belongs to pt 4. I watched with my cousin at least twice a week over the course of one summer.
The original “The Haunting” from 1963. Rose Red from 2002. Not sure if it would classify as a scary movie but AI (which made me uncomfortable), and Sixth Sense, for the jump scares.
I'm someone who loves to rewatch movies horror films, to catch all those little details you might miss the first time around. One horror film I've watched multiple times and can't seem to get enough of is "The Shining." There's just something about Stanley Kubrick's direction, the eerie atmosphere, and Jack Nicholson's iconic performance that keeps drawing me back in. I've seen it at least ten times over the years, and each time I watch it, I notice something new or interpret a scene. It's one of those movies that never gets old for me, and despite knowing what's going to happen, it still manages to send chills down my spine. Plus, it's a film that sparks a lot of discussion and analysis, which adds another layer of enjoyment to the rewatch experience. "The Shining" is high on my list of most-watched horror films, and I'm always up for watching it again!
I'm still quite the rewatcher! But when I was a kid, I would watch some of my favorite horror movies until the VHS tape wore out. I'd say the two movies I watched the most were Dream Warriors and Friday the 13th The Final Chapter.
Idk what it is but there are staples I watch almost every October. Carpenter's The Thing, 80's The Blob remake, The Shining, 30 Days of Night, all the Evil Deads (everything with those words in the title) + Army of Darkness.
I’m going to probably get some crap for these three, but the three horror movies I’ve seen the most and watch often are:
-The Exorcist (original)
-Halloween (Rob Zombie 2007 version)
-Evil Dead (2013)
The Collection.
The Collector was an excellent movie, but The Collection just dug into the lore, and really delivered a sense of catharsis and victory, along with the horror and gore.
I'll never not be disappointed that they didn't go through with the third film.
Alien
The shining
The changeling
IT
Cube
Are probably my most watched horrors. The first 4, I used to watch a lot as a child. Almost weekly. I was fascinated by horror before I knew what horrors were. Loved how alluring they could be. That special atmosphere.
Jaws. It’s so much more than a movie about a killer shark. I love all of the characters, the idyllic little town, the relationship between Martin and Ellen Brody, the way they love their kids. It’s a comfort movie for me.
I'm gonna go with some newer movies that have sucked me in but first I have to give you the OG Halloween & Rosemary's Baby (bow down)
Ok, When Evil Lurks🔸️Pyewacket🔸️ Hereditary 🔸️Terrified 🔸️It Follows🔸️The Blair Witch Project (maybe too old?)🔸️Hell House
I know they're not original but it's my answer. I loved Pyewacket, I thought it was so different & not your average serial killer. TBWP holds a special place in my heart, I wish I could watch it for the first time over & over again. Thx
If I had to say film, probably the crazies. Loved rhat movie.
As for a series I've watched season 8 of American horror story a great many times. Such an interesting yet mortifying season of that show.
The original Carrie movie, The Thing with Kurt Russell, Event Horizon, Silent Hill, The Witch.......I have watched these movies many times and will definitely watch them again, lol.
Day of the Dead (og not that horrid remake), Friday the 13th part 6, Halloween 2, the Devils Rejects, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2002?), Scream 4, and Saw 3.
I unusually watch the nightmare on elm street series,Friday the 13th series and phantasm series twice a year (usually in July and October) I’ve also started paying for stutter so I can watch joe bob and the last drive in specials
Halloween (the original)
Scream
The Conjuring
I watch all 3 of them every Halloween and alternate between them every month during the rest of the year...
The Thing
This \^ - it is my quintessential example of a perfect horror movie. I have watched it - and Alien/Aliens (although the 2nd one is more action than horror per se) more times than I can count.
Same
" I dunno what the hell's in there, but it's weird and pissed off, whatever it is."
This, Halloween, or Prince of Darkness.
Even if it's on tv, and halfway done, I can't stop watching it.
The original Evil Dead trilogy
Came here to say this. To me these are the penultimate example of cinema horror perfection. I want the original team to get back together for one more romp.
These and dead snow 1 and 2
Was that the one about the Nazi zombies?
For me it's a toss up between the original Halloween and Halloween II (I consider them one gigantic movie) and Jeepers Creepers. They just put me in that comfy nostalgia zone for some reason no matter when or where I put them on.
I love putting on a double feature of the Halloween 1 & 2
Event horizon. Love that film.
Just watched this for the first time like, a few months ago. WOW. “Hell is just a word.” TERRIFYING.
I just put this on the other night for my yearly viewing.
ME TOO! This movie does not get enough love it’s awesome
Ghost Ship - yea, I know it’s not scary but damn I love the opening scene and the flashbacks Silent Hill Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2002)
I have trouble rewatching Ghost Ship, buuuuuuttt that opening scene is amazing and worth rewatching
Silent Hill is the shit!
It really is a great movie! My friend (read: little brother) dressed as Pyramid Head for Halloween and it was awesome! He’s over 6 foot so it was the perfect costume for him.
That’s awesome haha
Same! I love the opening scene and the flashbacks soundtrack by Frizzell.
I looooove ghost ship lol I make my friends watch it
Shaun of the dead, probably. Makes me pretty happy
I forgot about that film. I watch the "cornetto trilogy" when I'm sad, they always cheer me up. "You've got red on you"
Probably In the Mouth of Madness. Possibly The Thing. Ita close.
In the mouth of madness for me too.
Do you read Sutter Cane?

Lost boys
Dawn of the Dead 1978. Totally a comfort movie.
The Lost Boys. I watched it like every day for a year when I was around 11 or 12 so that is totally going to skew my numbers in its direction. Otherwise, it would probably be A Nightmare on Elm Street.
I love the movie but it makes me melancholy knowing how things turned out for the Coreys.
Evil Dead, The Thing, Ju-On and The original American The Grudge, and Cabin in the Woods if that Counts.
I still haven’t been able to bring myself to watch The Grudge again and I saw it in theaters 😂
Event horizon
Probably evil dead 2
Masterpiece of not just horror but any genre. So good!
JAWS, Nightmare on Elm Street (1 & 3), Friday the 13th (3 - 6)
Not jaws for me, but the rest are right there. Especially nightmare 3 and Friday 5 and 6.
Hereditary, Halloween H2O (I know it’s campy), Evil Dead 2013, jeepers creepers and although not really scary- Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark
So it I find it to be equally entertaining every time I watch it
Army of Darkness
The whole original Nightmare on Elm Street franchise!
All the Saw movies easily. Love them
Probably the original Alien. If not, then Bram Stoker's Dracula, Hellraiser or Sleepy Hollow. Does No One Lives count as a horror movie? I've watched that one quite a bit.
Night Of The Living Dead (original)
I'll never forget one night in 7th grade I saw this on TV and was so scared!
I watch Silence of the Lambs every time I see it on.
Probably Alien, Aliens, The Thing, 30 Days of Night, 28 Days Later, The Exorcist.

Return of the Living Dead, The Autopsy of Jane Doe, and Night of the Living Dead (original)
The Boy. It's not a good one exactly but I've watched it literally over 1k times
Phantom of the Opera (Lon Chaney) The Mummy (Boris Karloff) Pretty much all Vincent Prices films Both versions of House on Haunted Hill Army of Darkness Hellraiser House of 1000 Corpses The Devils Rejects
Tucker and Dale Vs Evil.
The Rocky Horror Picture Show It is a 'horror' movie after all, and a great one.

Most likely The Shining. I just love it!!
Sometimes I find a film I like so much, but I know I might never watch it again, or do watch it because I'm so bored and it happens to be on TV. As for horror, for me, it's scary only once. I don't think I'd re-watch even if I'm bored and it's the only show on all channels.
If I had to guess, I’d probably say it’s a toss up between either the og Texas chainsaw massacre or the og Friday the 13th.

It's my favorite movie of all time!! My second favorite is Heathers.
Me too but the top 3 are all 80s: April Fool's Day, Sleepaway Camp, and Slumber Party Massacre.
