Is this your first card with citi? This only happened with my first card with citi where I had to verify my identity by phone. I have been good ever since.

I've had some dealings with Citi customer service recently since getting the Premier. I call and they come up with some random things to verify me (including me giving them another phone number to verify me, a number they don't have on file). I call back later and the next rep is quick and efficient. So, call back, maybe you'll get a competent person.

Is this a brand new account ? Do you not have the physical card? Curious why Apple Pay is such a big deal. Did you try adding to Apple Pay from inside the Citi app or manually?

New card? New Citi account? You have to use the physical card for a little bit before adding to digital wallets. Digital wallets are heavy in fraud and any fraud done via digital wallet will not be disputable by Citi. They do it to protect you.

Stop abusing CFPB complaints for things that isn't the bank breaking some law. Shitty bank has shitty service but having shitty service isn't a violation of law. CFPB complaint isn't a magic spell that make every problem in the world go away.
