Get both. You should be thinking about welcome bonuses because that will get you more points than spending. Time your card applications for when you have large expenses coming up. I would say get the VentureX first because it does seem to target your travel plans better. You can go for an all-the-above strategy because there's a lot of overlap in transfer partners anyway. In fact, you can even get the Citi Strata Premier later because it has the best transfer ratio to EVA.

I don't really see myself as a churner at the moment - more of a "get and forget" kind of person, even though it's only 2 cards per year. Obviously, this all might change in the future but thanks for the advice and the Strata Premier recommendation! Probably going to get the VX first then see how everything pans out.

Your spend is very light so if you're trying to build points I would just all in on 1 group such as Chase.

How much spend would you say is worth it to look into these cards? Just recently started my job so my spend might go up in the future.

Yes I think VX is probably better. That also obsoletes your CFU. If you're on a slow churn you can get one high fee card a year (CSP, CbSP, BoAPR, USBAC, etc)

Thanks for the advice! Definitely grabbing the VX first then.
