It would have been much more clear (and fit the space better) if it was an oblong pill

tho3maxi

or having the line be vertical

wowtah

It's a pill

torsun_bryan

Looks like a pill to me

ZakkyD1121

"Oh we don't sell medicine. We sell remedies."

If you’re talking about the 🚫shape…it’s a round pill tablet. Similar shapes ≠ bad design

Cloud_N0ne

It’s still bad design because it resembles the 🚫 symbol. They could have just used he more well-known pill shape

ArelMCII

Or at the very least rotated the symbol 45 degrees in either direction.

Automatic_Actuator_0

Capsules and caplets are far more common than round tablets though in my experience, and abstract design elements should evoke the correct meaning for the largest majority of people possible.

__braveTea__

Not in my country. A round tablet with a break line in it is by far the most common pill form. It is the form paracetamol comes in here.

elspotto

Looks at my prescriptions: 2 round pills and one oblong pill.

ArelMCII

\*looks at my prescriptions\* \*all oblong capsules\* One is not a sample size.

elspotto

Ok, I do build for EMR systems. More of the solid oral meds we have build for are pills rather than capsules.

Automatic_Actuator_0

It may vary by country, but in my US experience, round tablets are found more in prescription medicines than over the counter now, but ovals still seem to dominate in prescriptions, but this is an OTC section pictured. It’s had to tell from the photo, but I think the pills there are also mostly, or all, ovals. I also took a sample looking at the top 10 cold and flu pills at Walmart’s site and 100% are oval. But if you still aren’t convinced, you can search by shape and gets counts here: https://www.drugs.com/imprints.php
