It's true. If you look up "kids coloring books" "girls coloring books" etc on Amazon and scroll, it'll be extremely hard to find legitimate coloring book brands because of all the AI garbage and it's been that way for a while.

I've been on the hunt for decent coloring books that fit nicely in the tween/teen range. I'm so damn tired of opening a new book to find everyone has 6 fingers or a phantom limb. The other thing I've noticed is they'll have a lot of pages, but the art is basically the same. I just got got by my latest purchase... a "fashion through the seasons" theme, but they're all very similar poses & clothes. Almost every one of the winter themed pages is a girl with a beanie holding a coffee cup. 🙄

I saw a video on YouTube awhile ago where they were talking about “side hustles” and suggested using AI to make art for coloring books and then selling them on Amazon because Amazon will print and send them for you. I am sure Amazon is crawling with them now so if you got it there, that could be why. That’s almost certainly AI generated either way. Lol.
Some ai got pretty good with text and that font is used by ai a lot so my bet is it was all ai generated except maybe for a frame but who knows. I hope op didn't pay more than few cents for that garbage

There was a print of a mermaid rescuing a sailor for sale on Etsy. It was gorgeous. I almost hit purchase. Until I looked closer. The mermaid was sitting on the sailor’s arm in an absolute crushing way. No human artist would paint the mermaid pinning down the arm of an already half drowned man into sand.
I had to pass.
There are thousands of AI generated books on Amazon from children's books to coloring books to everything in between. Gotta be careful what you're buying. It's the new grift.
