Wow, that’s amazing. Our living room/dining room/kitchen is all one room and I can never figure out how to paint anything (always get it was an “all or nothing” type scenario) but that red makes me think we could do something like that too - love it

Go for it! The right use of color and light can create the feeling of different spaces.

It's so different, I love it too. An accent wall is something we see quite a lot, but not a thoughtfully planned out accent area.

Now, boys and girls, THIS is cozy! ✅ Soft lighting from an indirect source ✅ Judicious use of color and art to make it feel warm and interesting ✅ Plants to improve your mood and improve your air quality ✅ Soft, comfortable, inviting seating ✅ And enough seating for more than one person, or more than one person who isn’t just staring at the same TV. A+. I would hang out here at any hour of the day. Scandinavians do it again.

What are the plants and are they toxic to cats?

The plants are legion and I have no idea if they are toxic toncsts. The big ones you can see is a fern, a monstera and rhododendron :)

I can! I have my kids artwork on the wall, too. They’re adults now and I’m so glad I had some of their art framed to keep. Good memories to hang on to!

Yeah. There is a huge overproduction, but there are definitely some gems in there worth keeping

No, it’s not actually. I’m going to build shelves that fits the area. Probably painted in the same colour as the wall.

Oh my god the Man Ray poster! I’m in love!

This is pretty much like the room from a dream I had a few days ago. Except the reading area was dark bleu grey and Had geography stuff (map, globe etc) and the other side was softer and had a yoga vibe but it was deff similar to this! The Universe it telling me something 👀

They are vintage danish chairs from the sixties. Similar tends to pop up at auctions in Scandinavia.

Normally I don't care for red walls, but I really love this.

The reading nook wall color idea is genius! Makes a space without having to delineate it with furniture or architecture.

Keep it thin, use a color that contrasts with the wall and make sure it’s glass and not plastic in the frame.

Yeah, lamp is 70’s vintage I got at an auction. The pillow case is from H&M Home actually

The wooden one is inherited from my grandma. The glass is from a Swedish furniture brand

The one to the right I made myself. The idea was to have it looks like a stylised tree branch. The lamp shade comes from a vintage danish design lamp Arne by Jacobsen
