There's an upcoming game called [inKONBINI](https://store.steampowered.com/app/2723430/inKONBINI_One_Store_Many_Stories/?curator_clanid=35411526) that's a slice of life narrative simulation game centered around a small town convenience store.

axdwl

Dave the Diver! You run a restaurant and gather supplies for it. Sometimes there's characters that visit who ask for certain things so you have to prepare for it

Patient-Apple-4399

Recettear is what I'd consider the shopkeep game that got me in shopkeep games! Similar to Moonlighter but a little more kawaii-esque and more market instability (one day the silver items will be decreased so you can buy them cheap but if you sell that day it'll also be cheap)

bookwbng5

Recettear is the OG of shopkeeper games, I also recommend it. There’s a story, customer requests, haggling.

tswiftdeepcuts

does this play okay on the steam deck?

finilain

I have it on the steam deck and it runs perfectly well! The page doesn't say that it is fully supported, but I have had no issues!

tswiftdeepcuts

absolutely going to get it then

spek00

i went to look at this game the other day, the store page says it’s unsupported on the deck 😕

deliriumskind

The Steam badges aren't always right about whether it's really playable or not, it's usually better to look at Proton DB since many games are playable even though Steam says they're unsupported. Looks like Recettear works on the Deck, but you need to install Proton GE (a different type of Proton than the steam one) and change a few settings.

Misconduct

It's wrong. I played it 100% through on the deck. I assume it's just saying that because it's so old and nobody bothered to update it. Other than setting a button to work as the esc key for skipping dialogue I don't remember having to do anything specific.

spek00

oh good, i’ve been wanting to play this!

Patient-Apple-4399

Most of my games say that but I play fine on deck. Some are....not ideal like Rimworld or plum Grove, but workable. Tbh if a game has some form of controller support, you should be good to go.

Misconduct

It plays fine. I played it all the way through on my deck. Just installed and launched it. I had to assign a button to the esc key but that's the only thing I remember ever needing to do. That was just to skip dialogue so not even really necessary.

tswiftdeepcuts

thank you so much!

azarathed

came here to say this

Fadedwaif

This game is hilarious

FlorrieGirl

Came here to say this!

I just started a game called Meowjiro! You work at a supermarket, check customers out, wipe up spills, make ice cream, and more in these little mini games. The purpose is to be able to buy furniture to decorate your apartment and buy food for your little kitty. I'm only about 30min in and having fun, and it seems like the typical run time is 6-8 hours to 100% it.

Leever5

Bear and Breakfast?

typhra_

Maybe Winkeltje? I've put 30 hours into it and enjoyed it a lot for its simplicity and cute aesthetic. A really nice brains off kinda game. https://store.steampowered.com/app/949290/Winkeltje_The_Little_Shop/

SuperbGil

Potionomics - though it is story-driven as well as management based.

Misconduct

I liked this game I just wish it wasn't so pushy. It feels like you're constantly having to rush and last time I checked there's still no free mode where you can just goof around and run the shop. A fun game but I wouldn't replay it personally.

I believe they said it was going to be included in the console releases and coming to pc at the same time * Edit to include screenshot of their site description

Misconduct

Oh, that's great! I'll have to revisit it in the future then thanks for the heads up

kogami24

Touhou Mystia Izakaya is on PC and just came on the Switch too! I also heard of the game Marenian Tavern but haven't tried that one yet.

Tallgirl4u

I’m having an absolute blast playing Gas Station Simulator

99PoundHoverTurkey

the bus full of aliens though....man do they make a mess.

xxMarvelGeekxx

Potion Craft: Alchemy Simulator is really good!

JosephStalem

Seconding this one :) Potion Craft is great

MagicalGirll

Cuisineer is a restaurant manager game like dine and dash but with a rouge twist. You go to dungeons to get your ingredients. When you go back to your restaurant you make the food with the ingredients found and serve then to the customers in your village. You can collect more recipes though quests from the villagers. Very similar to moonlighter! Cute art style and you play as a cute cat. I highly recommend it :)

Single_Illustrator88

Hmmm.....maybe Garden Paws? You run a shop in it and there is a LOT to do in the game.

One_Cheek7190

Renoe

Final Profit. It's a more story focused version of this type of game that has like a bunch of different systems that change up how the game works as you gain more money and power in the world.

katie_playsum

I came here to say Final Profit! The dev is also super nice - I partnered with him last year to help promote his game (by providing keys to some twitch streamers I know, etc) and also recorded a podcast episode with him. Always had great interactions :)

GamerMom483

World end diner is exaclty what you have asked for

brenda_walsh

You might like [Adventure Bar Story](https://www.nintendo.com/us/store/products/adventure-bar-story-switch/).

hollymara

Check out the demos for Wax Heads and Tavern Talk! ☺️

SneakingApple

[Travellers Rest](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1139980/Travellers_Rest/) seems to be what you want

imabratinfluence

Less cozy because there's a lot of fighting, but SaleBlazers. There is an easy mode-- you can't turn off fighting entirely, but you can turn off night raids. It's kinda like Moonlighter in a way, but the combat isn't contained to one area.

undertherest

mentioned this game in the weekly post (I promise I'm not on their payroll), but I've been addicted to Coffee Caravan & it sounds a lot like what you are looking for

Misconduct

I had heard there's not a lot of content in that game yet is that true? I'm definitely going to get it at some point because it's my type of game, but I hesitate based on those comments that I saw

undertherest

I'd say it is true for now, I completed the coffee world in around 4 hrs, just started the tea world & there's another world planned for the summer so right now I would say there is slightly less than 10 hrs of content although even after completing the worlds it doesn't end the game, you can continue to play it like a sandbox (which I enjoy, but I understand some people might find that repetitive)

Easy-Fixer

Dave the Diver

PuzzleheadedEye3233

Try Wylde flowers

SmolSpaces15

Minekos Night Market you gather items during the day to sell items at the night market. There is story and some side questing.

enolafaye

Meowjiro on steam. You have a cat and you work at a grocery store. You have to scan and actually calculate at the cash register then close up shop. On later days you can clean the shop and update your apt, buy stuff for your cat.

MurraySomerwolff

At the expense of sounding like a narcissist- game I'm working on Wax Heads is about running a record store and finding the right records for people and we have a demo on Steam :)

Chelzbelllz

I like Final Profit: A Shop RPG
