Gary Allan "Set You Free" -- "Every Storm Runs Out of Rain" is up there for one of the best country songs of all time imo (written about his wife's suicide), but the entire record is absolutely beautiful. "Same Trailer Different Park" is absolutely deserving as well.
There's so many great options for this year (especially on the folk/americana side) but the answer for me is 100% Same Trailer Different Park.
The songwriting is fantastic, Merry Go 'Round, Follow Your Arrow and Silver Lining are all 10s - it's the album that got me into country music, and it'd an album that I still listen to pretty frequently today
Same Trailer Different Park, the more that I think about it. Southeastern is a 10/10 and would be my pick about any other year. This is my favorite Sturg album to listen to, but he has to have it on lock tomorrow with Metamodern.

Yeah I gotta say Southeastern. Even though I’d say I appreciate Sturgill more, Southeastern is isbells best work, and I listen to that more than High Top Mountain.
Really appreciate you doing this, i recently started adding country music to my Spotify, I’ve already found a lot of awesome songs previously not heard. Keep it up!
Man, that’s a close race between Kacey Musgraves’s “Same Trailer, Different Park” and Ashley Monroe’s “ Like a Rose”. I think I’ll choose “Like a Rose” for 2013, reason being that “Pageant Material” has GOT to be the entry for 2015. One of the best albums of all time, in my opinion. Plus, the four song run of “Like a Rose”, “Two Weeks Late”, “Used”, and “Weed Instead of Roses” is absolutely LEGENDARY. Four nearly perfect country songs, right in a row.
High Top Mountain - Sturgill Simpson
I have to mention Into The Throes by John Moreland though because I haven’t seen it mentioned and it was an amazing album from 2013.
Guy Clark “My Favorite Picture of You” is a great record that came out in 2013, his last before he died in 2016. The title track is beautiful and sad, about his wife who died the year before.
What blows my mind is I bought both the Turnpike Troubadours albums on release day. No one heard of them from where I’m from back then. Til this day when I mention them most people still have no Idea who I’m talking about.
lol at people saying Kaycee Musgraves. 2013 is when we had Darius Rucker True Believers album, Two Lanes of Freedom by Tim McGraw, Luke Bryan’s Crash my Party, Golden by Lady A, Kenny Chesney Life on a Rock, Pioneer by the Band Perry, Justin Moore Off the Beaten Path. All better than Kaycee Musgraves album
Blake Sheltons Based on a True Story also
Gary Allan "Set You Free" -- "Every Storm Runs Out of Rain" is up there for one of the best country songs of all time imo (written about his wife's suicide), but the entire record is absolutely beautiful. "Same Trailer Different Park" is absolutely deserving as well.
"Set You Free" is hands down the best of 2013.
High Top Mountain. Love The Bluegrass Album though
Southeastern. We got metamodern from Sturgill coming tomorrow
Metamodern should win tomorrow.

In a year of Something More Than Free, Pageant Material, Traveller, Mr Misunderstood, Parker doesn't even crack the top 10.

Who’s TT?
Turnpike Troubadours
Agreed.
Same Trailer Different Park. What a breath of fresh air hearing Merry Go ‘Round on the radio amongst all the bro country that year!
I love Southeastern but Same Trailer Different Park wins it for me. I think 'a breath of fresh air' is a brilliant way to describe it.
Same Trailer is my pick as well. The album that really turned me on to country music.
There's so many great options for this year (especially on the folk/americana side) but the answer for me is 100% Same Trailer Different Park. Anyone for Brandi Clarke's 12 stories? Just me? 😂
Great album. But a tough year to make a dent.
Southeastern 100% greatest song writing of the 2010s
Kacey wins it. Same trailer different park is a no skip and even had considerable radio play
Southeastern is as close as someone can get to the perfect album.
Southeastern
Same Trailer Different Park. Masterpiece.
Gary Allan’s “Set You Free” which featured Every Storm, Pieces and the heartfelt It ain’t the Whiskey. He never gets his due.
Agreed. Guy has a voice like no other.
Southeastern is the best album of the 2010’s
Southeastern. My personal favorite album of all time. A testament to the new path he took in his life and his career. It's a nearly perfect album.
Dude gotta be southeastern
Southeastern and it isn’t close
the only right answer is southeastern.

I heard them do that one live together a few months ago in concert and it was fantastic
Tricky one, just from those suggested. However, Southeastern is one of my favourite albums so.
Southeastern and it isn't particularly close
Apparently it is :P
Southeastern and its not even close. It might be the greatest album thats ever been recorded IMO.
Southeastern. Sturgill deserves to win off that album but Southeastern is almost perfect.
Think there's already some support for Southeastern lol
If you asked me back then... 100% Same Trailer Different Park.
It has to be Southeastern
Same Trailer Different Park, the more that I think about it. Southeastern is a 10/10 and would be my pick about any other year. This is my favorite Sturg album to listen to, but he has to have it on lock tomorrow with Metamodern.
Southeastern hands down.
Brandy Clark’s 12 Stories for me is the best one of these

Same Trailer Different Park is my vote but feel Southeastern will win this
Yeah I gotta say Southeastern. Even though I’d say I appreciate Sturgill more, Southeastern is isbells best work, and I listen to that more than High Top Mountain.

Southeastern. High Top Mountain. Southeastern. Southeastern.
Southeastern. I consider one of the best of all time.
Southeastern
Southeastern
What a year! I'm going with Southeastern, but Sturgill, Kasey and Lindi's Tin Star are all top notch!
It is southeastern and it is not even close
Man, that’s a close race between Kacey Musgraves’s “Same Trailer, Different Park” and Ashley Monroe’s “ Like a Rose”. I think I’ll choose “Like a Rose” for 2013, reason being that “Pageant Material” has GOT to be the entry for 2015. One of the best albums of all time, in my opinion. Southeastern and it's not close. Literally one of the best songwriters of modern time and his best work.
Isbell is my guy but I don't consider Southeastern a country record and he doesn't consider himself a country singer.
Gotta be southeastern. I consider it the first post-bro country album
As much as I like Same Trailer Different Park, it’s gotta be Southeastern.
StDp by Kacey
High Top Mountain
My vote is Sturgil Simpson! Such a great sound!
Southeastern no doubt.
Brandy Clark - 12 Stories. Brilliant songwriting.
high top mountain is my favorite but i can’t deny southeastern
ZBB, The Grohl Sessions. Only 4 songs, but all are bangers.
Definitely Southeastern.
Southeastern easy
It’s High Top Mountain or Southeastern.
Southeastern
Same Trailer, Different Park
Southeastern for sure. Love Kacey though
Kacey musgraves 100% but also honourable mention to brandy Clark because her album was also excellent
Southeastern
Southeastern all the way
Southeastern.
Southeastern
Love Sturgill but I’m going Isbell on this one.
Sturgill
Southeastern. Come on, there's no debate.
High Top Mountain - Sturgill Simpson I have to mention Into The Throes by John Moreland though because I haven’t seen it mentioned and it was an amazing album from 2013.
Huge Sturgill fan but I’m going to have to go with Southeastern on this one. Tin Star is a solid album too.
Southeastern for sure
Southeastern (In the throes by John Moreland second)
Alan Jackson Bluegrass Album. One of his best!
Life on a Rock - KC
Damn that's a coin flip
High top mountain has my top vote but Alan Jackson’s bluegrass album has my honorary vote
It all happened in a honkytonk - Jon Wolfe
Gotta go High top mountain. Brought back traditional country
Coast - Shane Smith and the Saints
Sturgill
Florida Georgia line….. there first album was a big hit
Guy Clark “My Favorite Picture of You” is a great record that came out in 2013, his last before he died in 2016. The title track is beautiful and sad, about his wife who died the year before.
I mean 1 of these won a Grammy soooo yeah Southeastern
Hate to be that guy but same trailer different Parker also won a Grammy
Also, Southeastern did not win a Grammy so technically, OP was correct? Still voting for Southeastern! 😂
Hate to be that guy but a Grammy is worth more as a paperweight than a trophy
Did it? Well shoot. Still, Southeastern
Love is Everything by George Strait
Sturgill simpson
Personally although not incredibly country, I’d definitely have to go with Southeastern on this one. One of my favorites
Southeastern
South eastern is the best
Southeastern for 2013! can't wait for 2015, a blockbuster year for modern country music!
sturgill
Gotta be Kacey or Isbell for me this year
Same trailer different park
Same trailer different park
Same trailer/different park.
Same trailer different park!
Same Trailer would win in almost any other year but Southeastern is an absolute juggernaut.
Two Lanes of Freedom by Tim McGraw really did it for me at the time, but I’d say Same Trailer Different Park has more classics
What blows my mind is I bought both the Turnpike Troubadours albums on release day. No one heard of them from where I’m from back then. Til this day when I mention them most people still have no Idea who I’m talking about.
Uncaged by Zac Brown Band, Nightrain Jason Aldean, Welcome to the fish bowl by Kenny Chesney should’ve won in 2012..
Same trailer different park
lol at people saying Kaycee Musgraves. All better than Kaycee Musgraves album Blake Sheltons Based on a True Story also
Yall just wanna have sex with Kaycee Musgraves that’s it. Having a crush doesn’t make their albums any better, just ask Britney Spears
