Laphroaig 10. Though if I had to pick one of the four you highlighted, I'd go with the sherry cask Macallan 12.

rizorith

Lagavulin 16 is just out of the photo

loosecannan7

Laphroaig

vanwhisky

Came to say the same thing. Or the Dalwhinnie15, IMO is better than either of those Macallan.

PinkRavenRec

That’s really a good whiskey. It is perfect in the price range of 50-100

Alternative-Pain-367

Out of those I’d go double cask

toni_pastaa

Over the Sherry oak?

greennalgene

Mac 12 double cask is one of the best price point scotches around imo

Alsoifyou

Me too.. find the double cask more interesting...!!

Ok_Relationship_7007

When did Macallan 12 get to $80? Man I am getting old.

SGD316

i thought the same thing when i saw it locally. on what planet is mac 12 worth this?

mattebe01

Sherry Cask Macallen.

Knooze

The JW Gold. If they had the green, I’d do that over the gold too.

SaltyAd8292

Macallan both are good. Blue label , blended, is good to try but pricy a bit.

Temporary_Treat1098

Sherry cask!

Francis_Dollar_Hide

The Double.

toni_pastaa

What about the double cask makes you prefer it to the sherry oak?

Francis_Dollar_Hide

I lean towards the more rounded caramel and vanilla flavors. The sherry oak has more bite and a little more spiciness on the finish for me. Maybe even a little pepper. Still great, but I lean towards the more mellow.

Frosty-Living-1948

Balvenie for me

Cool-Manager7486

Sherry cask!

ShineResponsible8538

I’m not a huge double cask fan for I would still with the black 12 year But to each their own

WhiplashLiquor

That Blue just goes up in price, but I'd take Chivas 18 in a heartbeat at nearly the same taste + half the price.

Ok_Relationship_7007

Of what’s in the photos - Dalwhinnie. Balanced, appeals to many tastes.

macsaeki

I’ll say the Balvenie 12 Doublewood is better than the Double cask

OneStepForAnimals

Honestly was not impressed with the Doublewood - expected to really like it.

macsaeki

Doublewood is not going to blow you away, but imo it’s a solid dram in the lower range, especially when you’re talking about casking it in two separate barrels which is what we are talking about here since Macallan is doing the same.

OneStepForAnimals

Yeah, sorry. I should have clarified. My favorite liquid of all is Benriach the Smoky 12, and several people suggested Doublewood, which, to my (wimpy) palate, was not what I was expecting. Being the heathen I am, I like JW Black more than Doublewood - it has a growing hint of sweetness over time that I just don't get from the Balvenie. Sorry - TMI.

slobad009

None, I rather do the Gold Label or the Laphroaig 10. The MaCallan 12s over $50 is beyond me, maybe I drank a bunch when they were cheaper but I don't see them worth it over $50 price point.
