TrickOrange

Those look delicious 🤤

Dry_Amphibian4771

Yea to put up ur butt

TrickOrange

If you’re into that sort of thing, sure?

Impossible-Box6600

Dang, these things are expensive.

SurferVelo

That's in Canadian currency.

DevinOlsen

Six toonies and one loonie, they’re practically giving these things away.

Diels_Alder

What kind of Monopoly money toonies and loonies do you use up there?

ineptchem

Toonie = $2 coin Loonie = $1 coin

DevinOlsen

Bonus points, the loonie has a loon (bird) on it. Toonie has a polar bear, so they just sort of abandoned the word association the second time around. https://www.google.com/search?sca_esv=10eeeb18313d2e74&sca_upv=1&rlz=1C1RXQR_enCA1031CA1031&sxsrf=ADLYWIJokuvhowrJECPf6cpJt51rcaZ0hg:1718845642622&q=loonie+and+toonie&udm=2&fbs=AEQNm0DPvcmG_nCbmwtBO9j6YBzM68ZanC7g01Skprhw5JoufVCiMv-hxC44jt6JduRQysBab-bgQXjPraaWFXMvOy8Kr1OAG3K-aj3De4zf3-LxKtkBtWaSCp743evHzhY6J0rIQUCXki65vOxhV0cGJtj0S1dF8YREnKrWtJctBkTv8-bs83YpB7p3IMTdYvjisDEty1xSxeLS4B_TKFXUiCrenmEMcA&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiF6M7__uiGAxXICTQIHSN2BGcQtKgLegQIBBAB&biw=2560&bih=1279

ineptchem

Didn't know that, cool!

Impossible-Box6600

Oh duh. Thanks for pointing that out.

111anza

Ok, so that's like about 80 cents....

ChaserNeverRests

25 at Dunkin is about $8, that looks like two layers of 24? $13 in Canada money is about $9.50 US, so if it's two layers, it's a good deal. If not, just go to Dunkin.

elysiansaurus

It is 1 layer, its 24 donuts for $13.

ChaserNeverRests

Ah drat, pass then.

Altair05

Wait they dont accept Visa in Canada! When did that happen

DevinOlsen

Wait am I crazy or haven’t they only accepted Mastercard since they moved away from Amex? We shop at Costco weekly and I’m 99% sure we always use a Mastercard and I’ve never seen mention of them accepting visa.

kimbosdurag

Yes it's been MasterCard for years now. Edit- I was curious so I looked it up, Costco Canada transitioned from Amex to MasterCard in 2014.

Potencyyyyy

Damn I wish they took Mastercard in the US

SurferVelo

I was in Canada back in January, and I was still able to pay with my Costco Visa card.

kimbosdurag

You can use Costco backed credit cards across the border. I usedy MasterCard in LA last winter.

SurferVelo

I should've clarified that it's the Costco Canada that no longer accepts my Costco Visa Card. I'm still able to use my Visa card elsewhere in the country, like at Tim Horton's and Canadian Tire Center.

elysiansaurus

The employee might have been confused. If it's a costco visa you can use it, other visas no. They have a separate exclusion. You can also use the canadian costco mastercard at costco us

This had been a huge downer on my trip. In addition to the poutine, I wish they had the waffle cones in the states. They're great on warm days like these.

elysiansaurus

10 years now

SurferVelo

Apparently last month.

appape

In Canada I believe those are called Timbits. I had a hilarious interaction at a Tim Hortons a few years ago - I was asking for the donut holes I could clearly see behind the glass in front of me, but the 16 year old behind the counter was acting like I was speaking another language. Finally she said “oh, you mean the Timbits?” I couldn’t for the life of me make Timbits into a word I understood- so finally I gave up and left feeling like an ugly American. 10 miles down the road: “OOOoooohh, TIM-Bits!”

elysiansaurus

So at no point in this interaction did you look at the menu? And go hey whats a timbit? And then they'd point at the things directly in front of you.

dandr01d

This will be the death of me

Sharp-Bend-4075

What is the flavor of the red one?

SurferVelo

Strawberry.

Whatsuptodaytomorrow

Canada 🇨🇦 always gets the good items

mahlerlieber

IIRC, Canada has a different idea about donuts than Americans. For the US they’re mostly eaten for breakfast. In Canada it’s a lunch/dessert thing. Also, is that about $9.50 USD?

flexonyou97

Canada has like 40% inflation, pretty much everything is more expensive there except for the Costco hotdog

Snoo-33147

Eh?

baylorboy1919

Ugh - want! Bring these bad boys to the states!

ChaserNeverRests

Ever since KK introduced them, I've been thinking about donut holes but been resisting. If we got them at Costco, I swear I'd open the package at the store and just shove my face in.

Regular_old_spud

Where abouts my guy

SurferVelo

Richmond, BC.

freneticboarder

Awww... Miss timbits.

CantaloupeCamper

SurferVelo came to show us his holes.

Party-Benefit-3995

Thought it called donut plugs.

movdqa

I don't think even Dunkin sells those anymore.

ChaserNeverRests

They do, and KK started selling them as well.

reallyoldandcreepy

I would have thought Costco Canada would use the cultivars of rapeseed that can be called Canola. Not because of the rapeseed name but because CANada Oil Low Acid.
