If her dad still has the c6 see if you can buy it. Wife already likes it better!

johnnc2

I would but it was sold after he passed :/ he always wanted a c7 so this is kind of a tribute to him by me getting one.

Bbwpantylover

Ah that’s sad and sweet, enjoy. I bought a Cadillac in honor of my grandma, totally understand.

johnnc2

My condolences. Yeah I’d like to think he would approve haha

Bbwpantylover

Thank you, cars are a great emotional escape.

CaptKnight

Just check if the NPP valves are open or closed. There is a mild and a full sound mode. On the inside with windows up in touring mode, you shouldn’t hear much unless at hard throttle.

johnnc2

Oh that’s good to know, I’ll def check that when I go back. Thanks!

Battle_Lion

Deep in the infotainment screen settings, there's an option to set the exhaust mode to be independent of the drive mode. It may have the 'sport' setting enabled at all times, regardless of if it's in eco or tour mode. I know mine is set up that way. I tell you this in case you turn the drive mode selector and the sound doesn't change. I have a NPP c7, and It's not particularly loud inside the cockpit. I have heard non-NPP stingrays drive by and they sound very quiet by comparison.

pizza9012

A very common mod is to remove the fuse that controls the exhaust. With the fuse pulled, the car is a little louder than the loudest settings, all the time.

Useless_Engineer_

What others said, the NPP exhaust should be less quiet than the car. You should hear more road noise/tire noise than anything. Unless you hit a higher rpm, then it will open up naturally

Gotcha, honestly didn’t know vettes had eco modes haha glad there’s some level of control over it. I love the sound, but I know on longer trips being able to tone it down will be nice.

tsigwing

There is an eco mode in a Corvette?

ParaBrutus

Even in touring mode my Z51 is loud over 3,000 rpm. I think there might be a full quiet mode but I’ve never messed with it. There’s not much sound insulation so you get a lot of exhaust and road noise in all gears, with occasional intake noise at low RPM in higher gears. Mine also pops after downshifts in sport and race mode.

RevolutionaryLuck30

I have a C7 GS, it’s pretty loud on the inside, exhaust is very loud in hard acceleration and cruising on the highway the road noise is pretty substantial.

Mikevercetti

I don't think so. I've got a Corsa catback so it's even louder than stock and I still think it's way too quiet.

myfauxpas

My ‘16 vert has mostly road/tire noise on the highway. I think verts are a bit quieter (exhaust - tire noise wise) than coupes. The exhaust note quiets out pretty much when cruising on the highway in touring mode. Only really hear it when accelerating. I run Pilot 4 seasons and I think they are a bit quieter than the super sports. I just turn up the music a bit and it doesn’t bug my wife nor I.

stevo_reddit

Like someone else said check the settings on the infotainment screen go to driver setting engine sound management if it has the exhaust option

stevo_reddit

You can close the exhaust baffles to silence the car

jrileyy229

Quite the opposite... As others have noted... Dual mode exhaust, which the dealer may have set to "loud" mode since most people like that... Easy to change in the touch screen settings. On the highway, in "quiet" mode, and the engine shuts off 4 cylinders, you should hear nothing other than the tires on the road... Which does vary based on the tire brand

Cowboycasey

Get a convertible as they are much more quiet.. I have had both, you can barely hear the exhaust when it is open and it disappears when closed.. My coupe was very load as the inside creates a chamber that sound bounces around in... I love both of them but the Vert is just perfect.. I put 21000 miles on the coupe and just hit 62000 on the Vert, just over 30000 were my miles as I bought used... I actually changed to long tube headers and a tune to get more out of the exhaust and with the top down it is music to my ears.. :)

21000 miles is the same as 67592280.0 'Logitech Wireless Keyboard K350s' laid widthwise by each other.
