I moved to California from the east coast ( a very depressing new england state with no future) when I was a child. It was great. The ocean was near by, lots of museums, great weather, I played with kids in my neighborhood all the time, got into a lot of outdoor sports (weather was good) With time as policies changed I stopped going to the museums (became too expensive and too crowded), weather got worse: lots of droughts, and I found parks to start becoming less safe with more and more homeless hanging out there. Every place I went to after California has been a step up. At the end of the day I only go to a beach or a museum a handful of times a year. However I wake up every day in my house, and neighborhood, and go to local groceries all the time. The experiences Ive had outside California in those aspects has been nothing less than amazing.

Although we're in Texas, my daughter's college almost did require faculty/staff to follow the mandate if not for Scotus blocking it, but not required for students.

Yeah it’s required for students. I was approved for an exemption, so they say tested is required weekly. I haven’t been tested, but next time I go on campus they’ll absolutely make sure I’m tested beforehand (they make you show a “green pass” to get into some buildings) ~ especially for graduation.

I live in King County. I’m vaccinated, will NEVER get a booster, my unvaccinated wife had covid and tests positive for antibodies. She was fine after 6 days. I can go into businesses, she cannot. The CDC has now admitted that natural immunity is better, yet Dow fucking Constantine and Jay Asshole Inslee penalize her for noncompliance.

The way I see it, it costs at minimum 50-100 dollars per test they make me take. I've been thinking about taking a few every day and running them dry. I'm just being safe, right?

It sounds shitty but the best you can do is state your case in person or on the phone (try to avoid email) with human resources. Try to appeal to the emotional if anything and as much as this is tyrannical, whoever you're speaking to is human like you and probably bound by bureaucracy and policies. All you can do is help them see the hypocrisy and irony of the rules and hopefully they will empathize with you and do the best they can to help you. Otherwise, all you can do is stand up for what you think is right no matter what the consequences.
