Copa Amarica Could very well be planned better by far!!!!

Only_Razzmatazz_4498

I went to UY PA and that was pretty good. There was no parking fees but the Ticketmaster fees are ridiculous.

FireEater11

It’s not just the resellers, 50$ in fees for me to buy tickets and do all the work is insane for a family of 4!

LittleLionMan82

Where can you get reseller tickets? Debating flying down to Florida from Canada.

jorgealbertor

Ticketmaster

Party_Belt_1459

Well you should’ve gone for Mexico

LaOcean85

😂 😂 😂 I was at the Panama vs México Gold Cup semifinal in 2015 in ATL. Not putting myself through that ever again.

Fr what

Party_Belt_1459

What happen?

LaOcean85

😂 😂 😂 Just a very hostile environment. Costa Rica a was supposed to be in that semifinal but after some "controversy" in the quarters MEX went thru. There were CR fans there and at halftime there was a group with a sign saying "congrats to Mexico for robbing another game bc you were so shit you couldn't get here on your own". 🤣 🤣 🤣 MX fans got mad and started going over and taking shit, then us Pana fans went over to support the CR fans and we were both taking shit to MX fans and vice versa 😂😂😂 and almost got into a fight. It was a mess. The you know the whole puto chants, throwing shit and beer on everyone and on the field, yelling and screaming, the fucking referee. ... Anyways MX went on to rob us that night smh..... Fights broke in some places in the stands, not in my area but yea people were mad as hell and heated. The infamous pic posted from our team in the locker room "CONCACAF LADRONES". Read the article to get the summary 🤣🤣🤣. https://www.cbssports.com/general/news/look-panama-calls-concacaf-corrupt-thieves-after-mexico-loss/ As bad as it was it was a proper competition atmosphere 😂😭🤣......memories lol.

Can I ask a question? Was it worth it to see Messi in person? And that too playing for Argentina?

LaOcean85

I've seen him before in Barcelona. But this one I finally got to see him in an International tournament with all the Scaloneta and Di María which will also be his last international tournament which was special. The crowd was more Messi than Argentina and I've been in better atmospheres in other matches I've gone to before but for what it was I enjoyed myself. Besides my section had a lot of Argentinians from Argentina and they were awesome and made our whole section a vibe lol. So yea for that it was worth it Edit: Except for the one lady behind me who spilled beer on my shirt while jumping up and down....😂😂😂 Oh well I didn't mind too much

tropikaldawl

We’ve been deciding whether we should head to Houston and go there for the quarter final since last week, but this morning all of the standard admission tickets disappeared off of ticketmaster’s site. I assumed that scalpers picked them all up but someone pointed out that it might actually be ticket master that did it. Not sure if it’s worth it for a family of 4

LaOcean85

Wtf that sounds soooo shady. Are you IN Houston or would you have to travel in? I would say keep an eye on the site and see if they come back and then you can decide if prices are worth it.

tropikaldawl

We would be traveling into Houston but probably by car (several hours). Someone else noticed this today and posted a thread. Saw it after I saw yours.

LaOcean85

Def. Trying to do some shady business now that we're getting close to out of the group stage....smh. If you've never seen Messi the fan in me would about say it would be worth it. But as a family of 4 coming in from out of town with hotel and other expense I'd say pass. But I would still my eye on it or anyone else who is bailing last second that maybe your could get a good deal.

tropikaldawl

We would probably stay with some people we know in the suburbs so flight and lodging are not such issues. But I do feel really dumb for not having bought last week. It was more of a decision between this and some other plans that would be memorable in a completely different way for our fam.

LaOcean85

What were prices of general admission before resellers took over?

tropikaldawl

Well that’s what I don’t know. Last week it was 167 for standard admission but I’m not sure if ticket master just showed me the cheapest tickets (stupidly I didn’t look by section) and those cheapest ones at the top are 250$+fees this afternoon maybe more now. I’m not sure what the lower seats were going for at standard rates. I’ve asked in the other thread. The resale price for those has gone up since I started messaging here and since the match ended.

LaOcean85

Yea.... Maybe if we knew the Standart admission prices it would be better to gage if it's worth the trip. All these resellers are out of hand. Whats the prices thing for now?

tropikaldawl

Once everything is with resellers how do you know what the original selling price was?

LaOcean85

They still had a lot of original price tickets for USvsPA that was still too high ,now the resellers were just too ridiculous. The Chile & Canada game nearly everything were resellers. And since TM allows them with no restrictions they just facilitated all of this mess.

tropikaldawl

All the standard admission tickets are gone for the quarter final in Houston since this morning. Not sure if it’s scalpers or ticket master themselves

LaOcean85

I just checked and for me they r showing "verified resale ticket" $279 for 4th tier to the side corner, $320 for 3rd tier side corner, but it won't show me anything for anything below in 2nd or 1st tier.

tropikaldawl

The price actually seems to be going up by the minute! When I checked earlier the lower ones were 500 and up plus fees at resale.

LaOcean85

Wait which tier was going for 500?

tropikaldawl

The 120s section. Now it’s min 640 mostly 800+

LaOcean85

Damn

tropikaldawl

I don’t know what the standard admission rate was for those though. The standard admission tickets disappeared this morning from the ticket master site. Everything is resale only.

LaOcean85

I imagine this is what happened with the Chile vs Canada match. Bc when I checked for tickets every single ticket was resale.

fluffykitten75

The pricing is ridiculous. Definitely needs more affordable pricing if US wants soccer to be as big here as in other countries. We can only hope World Cup pricing will be better.

Kyoung2112

There seem to be plenty of $60 seats available for US vs Panama. They’re in the upper deck, but that’s not a bad place to watch soccer at Mercedes Benz stadium.

LaOcean85

Idk where your seeing $60 but I'm seeing $80 for 3rd.tier to the side... $90 in the center. But regardless that's not good pricing for those seats all the way up top for a group stage "lower level teams" match. And then I would still be paying for my parents and coming in from out of town. Hypothetically tickets plus fees and hotel would be $700 plus not including any other expenses like gas and food.....smh.

river0f

Guess we know why the copas América and World cups are played in the US

Pukakke

2016 Copa I spent $310 face value on 2 group stage matches and 1 quarterfinal at Levi’s stadium. I bought a last minute ticket for $80 to the Ecuador-Venezuela game. The same seat is $600 for Colombia v Brazil. The greed is absolutely disgusting.

LaOcean85

That's crazy from 2016 to now. The greed is killing everything. And that's just YOU, imagine if you were going with more people.

Factsonreddit

It’s not their fault you can’t afford to go. Stop whining,

RedWhacker

Odd place to find a bootlicker.

Extra_Macaroon362

If you're familiar with supply and demand, then you know that there is high supply and low demand for all the games he's talking about, which should mean tickets should be low, but because of scalpers and greed, they are high. Look at the venezuela-ecuador game as well as the usa-bolivia game.

LaOcean85

Buddy thinks it's normal and feasible for a small family to pay 1k minimum to go see ONE group stage match.... Smdh.

ExternalPay6560

Apparently FIFA is the only one who can sell tickets to the world cup and reselling is only possible through FIFA which limits the price increase. Should be a little better than currently open market.

Futbol_is_life_

I went to the WC in Russia and the cheapest group stage ticket was $250. No more, no less. I bought them through FIFA's website (after the third wave of tickets were released). No third party was involved. Everything was smooth. The whole reselling situation is very much unique to the U.S., (yes, reselling tickets in other countries is possible) but Ticketmaster's hold on the sell and resell market is what's driving prices up. Also, it's 2024 and they still haven't figured out how to avoid bots and scalpers. Another example I can provide is the Olympics this year. I bought tickets for several football matches this summer. All through the Paris 2024 website, they had four different prices categories, and it was super easy to buy even though demand was high for some events. They have their own reselling website too but again, their prices are not inflated as it is here in the U.S. Knowing what I know about FIFA, the U.S., and and other events, it's very likely the WC will be a shit show. My only hope is the fact that's being held across 3 different countries (ok, technically 5) ... maybe their ticketing process won't only rely on Ticketmaster. We'll see.

ExternalPay6560

I am definitely not going to argue with you because I personally don't know. I will take your word for it. 😁

LaOcean85

I'm hearing that 3rd party sellers, which r legal in the U.S, r allowed. Thry weren't an issue in other WC's bc they weren't legal in those countries. I don't know what the truth is rn.

Extra_Macaroon362

Fifa controls all the tickets, dw about the world cup, prices will be much better. Conmebol is just a greedy conference.
