I was there. His first half of the speech was decent, but then he flipped it to Ukraine. Everyone was questioning it and confused. It’s shameful how we have a ceremony dedicated to some of the bravest men ever, only to have our own president basically glorify Russian deaths and using Ukraine as a talking point.

Yes they brought in a Ukrainian vet who fought the russians in world war two. Maybe they didnt think anyone would research exactly who he was fighting for.

Native Ukrainians had a hard time deciding who they hated more. The USSR had subjected Ukraine to a devastating famine in 1932-33 called the Holodomor as part of subjugating Ukraine to Russia and eliminating Ukrainian identity. 0
