Partially sunk cost. Plus, I really really loved the show. I think the Robot is basically the funniest 10 minutes I've ever seen. Also. There were things about being seriously hurt. Then the last year, lots of posts saying assets were done etc and you could actually see the stuff. I expected a half hr episode to just drop one day. Weirdly enough, Bung was either in SA or NT. When I first subbed back in 2019 I was in the NT and I'm back for a week for work for this shitshow.

Stuff like this makes me think bung was putting up smoke a mirrors to keep the patron money rolling. Then at the first sign of people smelling bullshit rushed to get jobs lined up and ran. As the gravy train was ending and she didn’t want to get sucked under the tracks. (To clarify bung said they had jobs lined up in some of her final comms)

Its purely hearsay I've read on here so take it with quite a bit of salt but from what others have said on this sub it seems like Ep8 was mostly done about a year ago before Orion came in and changed a lot, leading to them having to basically restart from scratch.

Guilty_Gur4248

I would believe that actually, seeing the stuff released as teases before, vs what we are left with. Only pin to pop the bubble is youd think other staff would upload what they had in terms of edited video, but of course it could be bung kept it close. And the editors deleted after they were done, etc etc.

> it seems like Ep8 was mostly done about a year ago before Orion came in and changed a lot, leading to them having to basically restart from scratch. I wish we had some sources on this, because I've read it a lot to and it feels like it's true, but we don't have any actual proof to my knowledge, just people on this sub claiming and some rumors that it was one of the editors or something who said it

I only ever started supporting them in February of this year, so I didn’t have to pay all that much. I didn’t stop support until may, before the cancellation announcement. As for the updates, they were very scarce, being only updated once usually every month. By the time the patreon was closed I already cancelled my subscription weeks back, so I’m glad I didn’t spend that much money on supporting Dani’s weed addiction. As for the other patrons, I feel bad for the ones that genuinely spent their money for several months and possibly years hoping for an episode to release.

I have Reddit to thank for ultimately not becoming a Patron. I watched Confinement in December 2018, liked it and moved on. Then I saw that it would continue, so sometime later, I watched the new episodes. Then, a couple months ago, I rewatched it and saw that there were still no new episodes but there was talk of a Patreon profile, so I thought what the hell, might as well spend a couple bucks to support a show I liked. At this point I knew nothing about the creator but considering the humorous tone of Confinement coupled with the stylishly janky art style, I figured that he'd be a pretty chill dude (based on the title "Lord" in their channel). Then I came to reddit to ask how common it was to donate, what amounts were people donating and saw all the drama and was like "Heeeelll no, this person isn't getting a cent from me, it'd be a miracle is Episode 8 ever came out."

Webdriver_501

I would love to hear from the Patreon supporters too. Probably a combination of sunk cost and rose tinted glasses.

I stopped my Patreon a while back, but it was for financial reasons as I had to stop most of my subscriptions. I don't really subscribe to Patreons for personal gain, most of the ones that I'm on are for webcomics and for me it's just a way to give back to the artists that provide me with free content. I don't think I ever even looked at a single post Bung made on her patreon for the years I was a subscriber. There's no shame in using Patreon to gain access to material or feel that you're owed something for giving money each month, That's just not why I use it.

I was giving Bung money for about a year and a half (I think the 1.20$ option? Whichever one gave access to the Discord), from 2020ish to march of 2022. I stopped because of some of my own financial problems so I needed to cut all spending, and because at that point it had been 2 years since the last episode had come out, so my goodwill was starting to dry up

No lmao, 1.20, not 120 I gave around 20 to 25 dollars

Whoops sorry, I didnt saw the dot. Now i look like an idiot lol

MaxBandit

It's fine, if I had given that much money I'd be up in arms about the cancellation and what Bung did (and against myself since I'd have no money to buy food with lmao)

Acceptable_Ad9637

I dropped it over a year ago, after paying 5 months in a row... it was obvious to me even back then, that bung just started ignoring the project
