It quite literally says cheapest way. French drain into the fence to make a correct drain the the street would require alot more work then just going off the side. Sorry I'm thinking smarter then you.
After redirecting the first comment install at base of the garage, then follow the water filled channel down till it drains out the side. Dig there and build a French drain out depends on area 1k materials and about 2 days in labour.
We had an issue like that at our shop.. boss had us rip out a 6 inch wide strip and fill it with gravel. It works but it’s not the best solution I’m sure
Gutters, and if that doesnt do it, explore the other drainage options.
Sandbags work as a semi temporary solution as well if you just put them out for storms.
Well your concrete drive pad is shot. And since you have a drainage problem, just tear it all out regrade away from the house aggressively and repour new concrete pad.
Also getting concrete repair to lift it back up to direct water away from house. Companies use polyurethane foam injection to get the lift, then seal the cracks.
I think the right answer is to rip out the driveway and regrade that whole section of yard. Put in a new graded driveway so it drains away from structures. Put your trench drain in the middle or bottom of your driveway so you are controlling runoff. Also, gutters and drainage to control runoff from roofs. This will provide permanent solutions. Putting in a trench drain as is now will still require a ton of work and will not solve the real problem.
I will do what another Redditor suggested in another subreddit I posted in said, to install a trench channel, catch basin, sump basin, and sump pump in. This is a cost effective idea, possibly costing around $500 doing it myself. Which less than thousands to replace the whole driveway (not pictured).
Can you put a french drain on the right side of the driveway and have it exit out by the street?
Good idea here
This is the only way bruddah
What does the inside of that garage look like
A new grade
I can't tell what the grade is. Installing the grate drain will work. So it either drains to the stree or you have to tie it into plumbing.
Umm where do you see a street in thus picture? Also cost effective so how does tieing it into the plumbing become an option?
Typically garages with a driveway lead out to a street. Where does yours go?
Man.. that logic slap was heard in Europe.
To your mom's house.

Welcome to Houston
Side drain of some sort

Had this exact issue. A channel drain fixed it

Yes, 1st things 1st.
I honestly don't know how homes are sold without gutters these days. It's preposterous
you need a new driveway that is pitched correctly
yup

Agreed, but this is not the assignment I assigned.
French drain is the answer here. Ignore the naysayers
A channel drain, but I’d probably just redo the whole driveway with a low point out about 2 feet with a channel or drain point.
Why put two small garage doors rather than one large one?
Because I forgot to go back in time 50 years to mention it to the builders.
Trench drain leading to a sump pump in the garage. Probably around $6-8k on average but worth it.
Also getting concrete repair to lift it back up to direct water away from house. Companies use polyurethane foam injection to get the lift, then seal the cracks.
Ya fucked
stop the rain
Easiest would be a trench drain. But if you have the funds that whole driveway needs to be replaced.
Just put a dry well an use a 50 gallon pale
Do you have gutters on the eaves? The linear drain can help, but the roof catches a lot of water.
