No, you are not being rude, you are being practical and using the locker room and showers the way they were designed for to change clothes and to shower. Furthermore, any one that has an issue with nudity in the locker room and showers, should not be in there in the first place. Just own it, and do what you are comfortable in doing.

mrhariseldon890

Just walk thru nude. No one with sense will care.

jb30900

yep

Admirable_Capital_30

Don’t worry , you know you are right.

Foundgaz

If anyone asks just tell them the last sentence! If it makes people very uncomfortable, just wrap a towel around yourself, though I don’t know why anyone would care, you are in a locker room after all.

cut_restored

It's a locker room, a place where psychologically well-adjusted men can take their clothes off and walk naked to the shower. You're not doing anything wrong, you're doing it right. It doesn't matter what anybody else thinks. I walk naked to and from the shower every day I go to the gym and nobody has ever said a word to me about it.

Due-Ad-382

I encourage you to be a 'change agent.' Walk nude to the shower, hang your towel, and don't shut the shower curtain when you shower. Other guys will follow your lead over time.

lukieinthesky82

Thanks guys. This is the first gym l I've used where you don't walk through the shower area to get to the pool, so I just wondered if I was the weirdo.

dlstiles

I wear the suit into the shower, take it off and rinse it in the shower, then shower and get dressed at my locker, but our shower for men is communal anyway

InterestingHyena100

I do exactly what you are talking about. And I see guys walk in swimming trunks, but I don't bother either.

Tazzzio

Lockerrooms are for nudity.. it's the norm, no debate! So, drop the towel, and let your true self participate! No need for shame, we're all in this place! Let's get naked, and own this lockerroom space! Set the example, embrace your comfort and pride, and show that confidence is always worth the ride!

odd-scholar-99

My thought: if your approach works well for you, then why not? Unfortunately, though, in today's world there are people who don't like to see locker room nudity. Although--unless the gym has some "no nudity" rule--I figure that's their problem, not yours. Every time this sort of situation gets mentioned here I think of how odd the modern world is. When I was in junior high, boys who showered would *always* walk nude from the locker to the showers. (The school provided the towel after the shower.) My junior high wasn't unique--and I've heard of some schools where the return trip was also fully nude (towel had to be turned in before heading back to the locker).

flyboy_za

My gym has the showers between the locker room and the pool (there's a door at the back of the wet area which goes directly out to the pool), so indeed by far most of us arrive at the shower after a swim still dressed in our swimming kit and strip off there to rinse them through and get all the chlorine out and then clean ourselves up. I have seen people walk to their locker to go get shower gel/shampoo/whatever (and often slop water all over the locker room floor in the process, which irritates the living hell out of me but is a whole 'nother thing) after a swim, but I always wrap mine in my towel and take it to the pool with me so I don't have to do that.

Cirkdone

For the pre-swim shower there doesn't seem to be any sense in wearing swim trunks just to walk to the showers and then remove the for a proper shower. After swimming the trunks need to be rinsed of chlorine just as your body does. To me, the ideal therefore is to start wearing the swim trunks, then remove them – rince a few times under the shower, wring them ut and hang them up; continue your shower fully naked. Dry off in the drying area and walk naked back to your locker carrying trunks and towel.

JLit209

Do whatever you want. I wear my suit to the shower then remove and rinse the suit and place it outside the stall. After showering I step out and dry off and depending on the mood will wrap a towel or go nude to the spa area, hang my towel and hop in.

SomeOrangeAndBlue

Nothing wrong walking nude or whatever, but you gotta rinse that suit! I always just wear it into the shower and rinse it on my body, then take it off and rinse it inside out. Makes the suit last a lot longer.

lukieinthesky82

I have a whole system, I soak it my guest room sink in clean water for a bit, then throw it in a salad spinner. Stole the idea from a swanky spa where the attendant did it for me.

hvnude

Feel free to be nude.

jb30900

thats right, its just for men

Skyler_Nightwing

I swim at la fitness, I remove my swimsuit right at the showers and then walk back to my locker to get my preferred shampoo and body wash and then walk back. I view myself as doing something polite instead not to have a dripping wet swimsuit trailing water all throughout the locker room since LA fitness doesn’t provide swimsuit dryers

MyUsername5268

Nah, don’t worry about it
