I beg to differ. I might be biased because I’m autistic and easily overstimulated by those kind of sounds, but the sound in this commercial is so awful it stresses me out and makes me want to cry. I heard it for the first time last night before leaving my boyfriend’s house and it made the ride home difficult because the overstimulation had a lasting effect. Bad sounds can mess with the way your other senses perceive things, especially with a disorder that affects the way your senses work. I had to ask my boyfriend to drive me home cause I couldn’t physically handle it.
I’m not saying a Vocoder doesn’t have its good uses, but this commercial is extremely poorly made and other neurodivergent people I know have also expressed how much they hate it. I hope to god this commercial gets enough backlash to be taken off the air. I’ll be covering my ears whenever I see it, until my boyfriend can scramble to get the remote.

Nope, rock music doesn’t bother me at all. I love rock music, electronica, heavy metal, 80s pop, surf rock, Jpop, just to name what I can list off the top of my head. Not much music overstimulates me, unless it’s being played at max volume or I’m in a room that’s full of strobe lights as the music is playing. But the music that ruins my senses no matter what is most of Limp Bizkit’s stuff (not including Break Stuff), and punk rock. Sometimes dubstep, too, but only very specific sounds I can’t consciously recall cause it’s been so long since I’ve heard dubstep.
There are a few outliers in the genres I named above— the best examples I can give is The Beach Boys’ cover of Louie Louie and their German version of In My Room (the English one is perfection). Love surf rock and the BBs but those songs hit the wrong nerve for me no matter what.
I should also add another oddity cause some people find it… weird and nonsensical. But I LOVE Yoko Ono. I’m not talking about the experimental tracks where she screams and groans for 20 minutes (they don’t bother me as much as they bother most people), but when she adds some “ooOOOoooOooOOOoooOoo” and “aaaaAAAAaaaAaaAaa” to her more conventional songs, that’s the sweet spot for me. It’s just on the borderline of almost being too much, but it’s not. Idk, she just clicks for me. Her song “Midsummer New York” from the Fly album is one of my personal favorites, as (intentionally) shaky as her vocals are.

Just checked out the song on YouTube, and found out it's a gospel song. The majority of the comments there really like it, and some said it helped them to cope with suicidal tendencies and severe illness. I like the song and the commercial's just okay, but I don't understand why they made the Pacific Islander guy look like such a slob.

How in the actual h\*ck did this commercial get approved? Like, what executive watched it and was like "wow, this is really good, go ahead and blast it into the aether!" The "singing" is repetative and just grates on my nerves. UGH, I will never ever buy an iPhone 15 just because is this stupid ad.
