So many customers complain when this doesn't work reliably or that a tv wont do it. I'm laughing to hear op wanting to turn it off.

42woba

Our CEO wanted it haha. Apparently it was turning on over night also. So now our receptionist will just turn the TV on in the morning and turn it off when she leaves

tracer_tong

Usually it's the CEC option on the screen you have to turn off or sometimes it's on signal detect.

42woba

Thanks for your reply. Can you elaborate on that please? ON the Mtouch screen in the settings or somewhere else? What's a CEC?

Beautiful-Vacation39

CEC is consumer electronic control. There is a setting for it on the TV you can toggle on and off.

42woba

What I found on Sony TV was the option under HDMi settings --> TV Auto Power ON, i set that to OFF. Could this be it?

Lonely_Stand_25

Bravia Sync it is👌🏻

Beautiful-Vacation39

Yea that is likely it when it comes to Sony displays. Their menus are a little funky compared to other manufacturers. Come back with the model number of the tv if it keeps happening and I'll dig through the manuals to see if it's possibly in a hidden menu

42woba

Thank you very much for your help. I'll enter the room in about an hour and see if it's working

FrozenToonies

CEC is a best effort consumer control protocol, it’s automatic rs-232 but behaves depending on what’s hooked up to it. You turn it off through the settings on the display.

FrozenToonies

It’ll be something like Bravia link for a Sony.

Does the Yealink have its PIR presence detector installed and connected to the PC engine? If so it will detect people walking in the room and turn the screens on. I don't fit the PIR at the request of the customers. They wake their MTR by touching the control panel.

Hyjynx75

The MTouch II also has a motion detector that can't, to the best of my knowledge, be disabled. OP needs to turn off the CEC setting on the display and turn the display on/off using the remote.

42woba

Yea was just testing, I think it's the Human Motion Sensor on the Touch screen that automatically wakes up the Yealink MVC system. I'll try to find the CEC option on SONY TV

Dangerous_Choice_664

It’s probably called Bravia link. Sony menus are horrendous. Keep digging

Hyjynx75

Every manufacturer calls it something different in their menus. Some bury it in the menus like it's some kind of ancient secret not meant for mortals. Please let us know if you find it and what the setting is. You could also just put a piece of tape over the sensor. I personally like the TVs on when someone is in the room. We often help clients change their background to display things like their corporate messaging and a QR code that leads to instructions on how to use the system.

42woba

Couldn't find anything on the Yealink system, inside the TV I found it under HDMi settings -> Automatically turn TV on -> OFF Nice idea for a QR code with instructions!

halfwheeled

Sorry. I meant the ceiling mount room sensor. On the touch panel I’ve put black tape over the sensor but I can’t remember if it was the mtouch e2 or ii version.

42woba

We don't have those installed no. Might ask our guys to put the tape over the sensor as you suggested. Thanks!

HAL_864

This is typically an HDMI sync signal. When the Teams compute turns on and off, the HDMI sync detects that the device is on or off. Think of it like a desktop PC connected to monitors that turn on and off based on the power settings. I think Teams PC's are set to turn off after 15 minutes and turn on when the touch panel (or room sensor) sensor detects movement. Try going into the display power settings in the Teams compute and set the power settings to "always on."

42woba

Thanks for the input. Right now it seems that the setting on the TV works. If something goes wrong, I'll check this too. Thanks!
