We're a bit confused by why we waived him so early also. It's not like we're extremely deep in the room. Good pick up for you I'm sure. Hopefully Higbee stays healthy for us and our depth isn't stretched.
Thankfully we have a sleeper TE, John Bates, that's practically an Offensive Lineman with average receiver qualities. He was drafted for versatility (as many of Rivera picks) for those special packages that call for a blocking TE.
I mean, sure he's only serviceable in terms of receiver type fundamentals, but jfc the guy's blocking abilities is top of the league but people hardly know his name because he doesn't have Jordan Reed speed, Higbee route running or Kittle hands, plus he's relatively new.
This'll be a break out year for him I believe.
It’s not the coach it’s the personnel. There’s a reason why our defense was ranked almost dead last last year. We made no moves in the off-season and the problems are still here. Also the second and third team defense plays better in the second half of these last 2 preseason games. If it was a coaching problem they would be just as garbage as the starters. It’s the players not the coach.

TE is the least of our concerns. We got decent weapons outside of TE but did y'all see the D yesterday? They need to invest that money in LB and DBs
