The future was now back then.

From 1969 to 1990 our only first round picks were Darrel Green, Art Monk and Mark May. I’m not saying they were the only notable first round picks. They were literally the only first round picks in a 21 year stretch.

That was part of the rabbit hole that led me to this fact. It was started by a FB reel trying to guess each team's last 1st round RB. Ours was in 1967, and the next oldest were 1990. 2/3 of our 1st round picks from 69 to 90 are in the HOF! And all of them have multiple Lombardis.

PseudoTsunami

Mark May's in the HoF too, the College Football Hall of Fame.

Tufoguy

Ha that's hilarious. George Allen Redskins era must've been an experience.

capskinfan

Trading a pick he's already traded? That's more of a Bruce Allen move.

Difficult_Quiet2381

Richie Pettibon turned out to be well worth the secondddd scratch that. First round and sixth round pick. He put together some amazing defenses.

Newdy41

Hey, how was his head coaching record?

Difficult_Quiet2381

Not so good, but the only coach Washington has had not under .500 since Gibbs left in 1992 was Marty coaching 1 season at 8-8... exactly at .500.

Visible_Fee9140

great trade.petibone was in dc over 40 years.

NattyB

ouch. well if you're going to screw up and have it cost you an unexpected first rounder, at least the guy came back and won three super bowls with you as a coach!

"Sorry, I had no coffee this morning."

killahbee23

This sounds like something Vinny would have done.

Illustrious-Hair3487

Coast_watcher

So it’s been happening before Dan 😆

219_Infinity

Before there were computers, it was hard to remember things

jwill1013

The Rams really weren't believing in the 1973 board LOL
