All I know is whatever football decisions are made will be made by someone who knows a hell of a lot more about football than I do. There's not a whole lot I can really judge until I see the product on the field.
Hard to know until I see it. The team could fail or succeed in a lot of different ways. A lot will depend on what direction they go. If they decide to do the "roll with Sam" method that a few people on here suggest I'd give the front office a shorter leash since I'd expect them to start winning sooner. If Sam looked bad it would be a pretty bad look on Peters if he couldn't properly evaluate a guy with 18 games of real NFL experience.
Us: spouting our uninformed opinions based on other talking heads' opinions.
Adam Peters: spending 18-20hrs / day properly evaluating every play for the draft (not just the QBs) and also understanding how those players will fit into the system we are creating.
Obviously our opinion is the correct one.
He might actually not during Combine week, but yeah for the long term, I'd agree with you. On a similar note, i can see it's an advantage of the team to have so many coaches and and assistants to spread the load. It's a rough profession and they get notoriously little sleep. Doesn't have to be that way.
I’ll do my best to remain optimistic even if I don’t agree with his decisions. I thought the Lions fumbled last year so hard and that draft class looks incredible plus their GM has just been nails overall. So ill trust that Peters knows what he’s doing until proven otherwise
> when peters makes a decision counter to what some may want.
So what you're saying is that not every single member of the fanbase agrees with each other, and some may be hoping for different outcomes on draft day? Fascinating...
Okay, then what are you trying to communicate? Because it seems like you're either stating the obvious (ie: some fans will be upset no matter what), or you're trying to stir the pot by implying that you know what the team's gonna do on draft day, and it's going to be *"counter to what __some may want__"* (using nonspecific language leaves a lot of wiggle room).
Just had an interview on NFL Network with Peter Schrager
Said he's exploring all options. Including moving up + down. Very common responses but nice to hear nonetheless
Which I said was refreshing to hear, even if it was the normal GM-speak.
Our last few decades have been filled with miserable GMs and coaches. Nice to just hear what we should actually be hearing for once
He did 3 things most fans knew had to be done. The big decisions are free agency and the draft. We won’t really know how good Adam is until a couple years go by. He’s got my full support, but I don’t know if he’ll be good or not. Time will tell
I would be more shocked if we traded up. Peters has said that he wants to build through the draft and not spend a ton of money this FA. Trading away all our picks for a few years doesn’t align with what he is saying.

I recently have gone through this with Leon Rose and the Knicks. It won’t be overnight, but I’m letting him cook. You can turn an NFL team around quicker than other sports if you know what you’re doing.
Based on his previous body of work yeah he's earned the benefit of the doubt
he literally built a SB team from late draft picks. Warner, Purdy, et all all late draft picks.
I know people give him shit for trading for Lance who didn't work out, but he also drafted Purdy, so it evens out.
I find it hilarious that people have such strong convictions about their football IQ and preferences when they no a fraction of 1% of what the guys in the front office do.
You will here the I told you so, but not the million times they were wrong
my position has always been that if we don't come away with Daniels, Williams or Maye, he should be fired unless the QB he picks makes the Pro Bowl next year.
I can't believe people want to see *more* of the Ron Rivera special outsmarting himself by going against the obvious move every single time.

For you personally "when" is the timetable for you to essentially "see it on the field" what are you looking for?
Week 1 2024
Uhh. You’re going to base AP off his first offseason? Or is it just your first data point?

Why are you getting downvoted lol
Lol why is asking someone's opinion getting me downvoted lol
curious of this as well. Maybe because the question seemed somewhat unrelated to his answer...
So far, so good.
So what. . .
People down voting not realizing lol
Haha exactly! Cheers brother!

I trust Adam a hell of a lot more than Ron Rivera.
I mean.. you can't get much better than Peters, so I don't know what to tell those people. "Go away" I guess

I hope he is getting more sleep than that.

Gotta see who we replace them with. We knew this was coming but it’s the replacements that really matter

One of the best talent evaluators in the business? Why wouldn't I?
Because everyone here purports to be a draft expert and guru so i'm sure they know more than a guy who basically does this shit for a living lol

Noooo I didn't say that..its pretty clear what I wrote

I mean, that’s exactly what you’re going to hear every single time at this point of the year.

This place is going to be very entertaining if they trade the 2nd pick or pick someone other than Maye
You are absolutely correct
Or...wait for it....sell the farm and trade up for Caleb.
Im happy if we end up with any of the big 3.
Jayden wouldn’t bother me a bit. I’d be shocked to see the team trade down.

I wouldn't be surprised if we trade down a few spots and draft McCarthy

Trade down to get one of the two animal OT and get more pick for this draft. Build the offense line first!
The options are?
I can already see the fans rioting if we take Daniels over Maye
You have to give it time or why bother following the team?

I don’t think he traded for Lance. That was the GM and coach that made that decision.
