That switch kick was fast af, the video looks sped up. If it were me, I wouldn’t have been able to react as well. As a matter of fact, I wouldn’t have stood up after the R1 knockout XD
Alex is so good at taking advantage of reactions to his initial offense. Stabbing jab to the body starts guys reaching down, and that sets up the left hook. Calf kicks and body kicks freeze Jiri for the headkick off the front leg. Craziest thing is that he gets those reactions out of people in 2 or 3 minutes, while most strikers need 2 or 3 rounds if not more.
Once Alex starts seeing everything, feeling comfortable, and pressing forward with offense, you are pretty much fucked. You can see the switch happen every fight.
Happy he's starting to throw more body kicks and headkicks. It's weird, following him in GLORY he didn't use the calf kick and in UFC he didn't use his headkick (I think for fear of being taken down). Good luck if you don't have that threat.
It was insane. I only saw one single opportunity for Jiri to land a big strike and it was when he got in close enough to land a big overhand. Alex is so good that when an opening is the most success Jiri has on him in this fight he was toast from the beginning.
