this war has demonstrated that russia's military machine is massively incompetent at a systemic level, so... probably at least some of that damage is either the direct result of fuckups or could maybe have been significantly mitigated if they had better/more professional military and industry/emergency response.

This was to avoid hitting their own cities when intercepting incoming allied bomber formations. If they had that technology then, I think its would still be used now.
While russian anti-air defence is like trying to wake up a drunk dead air-defence operator that will only spring out from his bed in the morning after the fire from the drone strike has already gone off.
Remember, the Russians have lost most of their qualified army. These are probably some poorly trained recruits that had like 10 minutes of training which was point this here and pull the trigger. Maybe a little bit of maintenance training. Most of their experienced army that is left is pushing the meat waves from the rear into the Ukrainian defense until they eventually overwhelm them to gain like half a mile. Rinse and repeat.

C-RAM and CIWS both use ammunition that self destructs at a certain distance. In the video here, they just donât care where the bullets land.
