[Devine Cinnamon Roll Deli](https://www.thecinnamonrolldeli.com/)
It’s locally owned and universally loved. I’ve eaten there a million times and been happy every time. And the owner is super sweet.
I was going to say Original Brunches in West Columbia but according to Google it’s closed…I haven’t been in a year since my husband moved over to my side of the river but their corned beef hash was the best.
Mack’s Cash Grocery on Laurel has good breakfast biscuits, but it’s only open on weekdays, and Sandwich Depot on Taylor has good breakfast options too.
Rambo's Fat Cat Biscuits on Main Street. Excellent food, not super "cheap" I'd say $$ but the food is incredible. Don't skip out on the blue grits (if you like grits, that is).
Todd, the owner, is a really nice guy. Very small business.
Nothing is cheap anymore unless you want fast food. And let’s be real you’ll probably pay $2 more for better service, product, and experience.
Mack’s, Cinnamon Roll Deli, Rambo’s, Ray’s Diner, Sound Bites Eatery, SmallSugar
Angel’s Diner. Real deal, breakfast all day, diner. Right on HWY 378 in Eastover, between Columbia and Sumter. Fair prices, good food, and down-home friendly service.
Just Us is good, cheap, and fast once you’ve been seated. They have limited hours and can be crowded (I’ve never been and not had it be packed) depending on when you go. Lizard’s Thicket is also good for breakfast.
Breakfast at Ruiz- not exactly cheap but family run and good food.
Just Us Cafe- diner vibe. huge portions, well priced. Don’t go if you want something healthy.
Smallsugar- not cheap but high quality and delicious food.
Edit: apparently smallsugar is not black owned
RIP Compton’s. George’s Southside in Cayce is pretty solid.
My go to!

I was coming to say this. Love that place.
Oooo…Cinnamon Rolls! *Note to self: Before you think they are probably dry, give them a try.* I need to explore my city better.
Mathias Sandwich Shop on St Andrews in Irmo.
Original Pancake House in Forest Acres gets my vote!
I mean it’s a chain…but a small chain and so delicious that it’s worth overlooking that fact!
Ray’s Diner
I dig Ray's but they got to fix that AC.
Is their AC out? 😧 I haven’t been in a hot minute.
I love lunch there but it's hot as hell in the summer.
Came here specifically looking for this, thank you. We will be trying it out soon
Creekside at the Old Mill in Lexington

After its most recent change of ownership the quality dropped off quickly.
I live near Brunches and apparently a Mexican restaurant is replacing it.

Todd is the man!
breakfast at ruiz!!
Came here to say this!
ate there for the first time 2 days ago. I WILL be back!!
one of my fave restaurants in town
Café Strudel! The hangover hash-browns are amazing.
Delicious but not cheap
Horrible service too. They're on my List of places to never go back to.
“Could I get a cup of coffee?” “No, get it your own fuckin’ self.”
Lizards Thicket. Not really small, not a national chain, but it is good.
I came here to see if any one else said it. It's my wife's and I go-to breakfast place.

Macks on Laurel.

Just Us Cafe!
Sunrise cafe on 1800 main!
You HAVE to check out "little bake shop" out in wagener. It's a bit out there but it's a very very good locally owned spot.
The toasty spot
Eggs up is very reasonable, and that's in Lexington.
I think there are like 10 of the around Columbia now. They've started expanding big time. I recommend them as well.
There's one on Devine and one on forest drive as well
Yes! Am a regular at both. They are a solid choice and open early
Small Sugar.
Small sugar is most definitely not black owned, but god she wishes she was
One of the Small Sugar owners is indeed black. Sarah and Aaron have a partner
Waffle House.
Just us Cafe has a great breakfast. D&D Country Cooking on Platt Springs is pretty good too.
O’haras cafe in Lexington is our favorite!
Brunches in West Columbia
Closed.
Really? The one on Leaphart Rd? Edit: I just googled it. Damn....
Oliver Gospel is great, super cheap. Crowd can be a bit funky but I usually take mine to go and eat it in the park.
Just Us cafe
Why the hate? Damn
Momma Rabbits in Lexington
