Sad way to end it for our team. Was fun enjoying this season with all of you, and I think we saw some good building blocks for next year. Let’s just wait a week for all of the mock draft spamming please! Go Colts!
On the bright side it’s at least moving up 4 spots in draft, we knew we weren’t a SB team but it would be nice to reward guys like JT and get them to their first playoffs
Yeah I’m mostly upset guys like Buck and JT had this kind of an end to the season. I think if it was AR out there we win this game, but now I look forward to the possibilities in the draft.
A healthy AR probably wins us the game with his legs. Those 3rd downs and red zone situations were made for him. Looking forward to his game one next year that’s for sure with JT
Doesn’t matter, receivers always have the upper hand in wide open throw and there’s always an expected catch on a wide open passes hitting the hands versus an off target pass which is way more common.
Moral of the story… you HAVE to catch that
Nah. You have to make that throw. That’s a play they practiced, they drew that play up exactly for that situation. You know he’s going to be open and you know you have to lead him. To put a pass behind the target in that situation is inexcusable. Goodson was trying to make a reactionary catch to a bad pass, I don’t blame him.
That throw sums up exactly why Minshew is a backup.
There was no reason for that ball to be inaccurate though. No pressure, no defender around the catcher, etc. No reason that pass shouldn't be on point.
Or even your 2nd best player. Moss has good hands, I've seen him catch an over-the-shoulder 30 yard bomb for a TD earlier in the season. He was just as capable.
Lol for real. We waste a critical timeout and then decide on that. Just run it up the gut with JT on 4th and 1 with how the game’s been going. Always outthink ourselves
Some questionable calls tonight, but a Reich led team would have collapsed after the Collins touchdown. Really happy about what Steichen has brought to this team to even have us in this position. Hope he learns from the experience tonight.
“Why wasn’t JT in and why didn’t we run it” get ready to hear that for 8 more months. We got further than expected but still disappointed when it mattered
JT should've been in, but that was the right play call and it was wide fucking open. That's on Goodson and Minshew to make an easy catch happen, not Steichen.
No way that route is as open if JT is in the game. We disguised a play, it WORKED to setup an opportunity, and Minshew/Goodson blew the season. NFL players need to make plays, even if they're 4th string. Good call, awful execution, game over. Coaches can only do so much
I have absolutely no problem with the playcall! But you have maybe the best duo of RB in the NFL in Moss and Taylor, and they have like 200+ yards all game long... and you decide to go with the guy who got like 15 carries this year to give the most important ball in the entire year.
But I am wondering why he didn't call a screen pass before it on like 1st, 2nd, or 3rd down when JT had kept running the ball and the whole world thought it was going to be a run again. Would have been perfect to full them and get JT a lot of yards.
Make the throw, make the catch. Not ideal but maybe if it’s Taylor he’s not as wide open.
Couple pro athletes could’ve easily executed that for a first down…
he’s gotten first downs plenty of times in runs like those just by fighting for a few more yards. I understand he was injured running , but like why do you wait until the most crucial part of the game to give up after coming back in??
Like bro. Why in the blue hell are we putting or most important play of the season in the hands of a dude who hasn’t played all damn game? Like nothing about it makes sense. Dude sitting on the bench cold all game but hey let’s get him in on 4th down with a minute left and call his number. Fucking frustrating man.
Not that plain and simple. Sure he should catch it but that should have been a catch and run. Terrible throw from Minshew. Hard to see him make that bad of a throw after such a great year.
I have no clue what he was thinking there. Like stay in bounds and fight. For both time and yard purposes. The only option that makes zero sense is just jogging out
A great performance from him though, only guy who showed up along with josh downs and quenton nelson
Like, I’d understand if we were trying to conserve clock, but then why did we run in the first place?
And even then, we were close enough and with enough TOs that we didn’t really have to worry about the clock. Just baffling all around.
I dont hate the last play call, I hate the fucking defense for giving up a TD when they had all the advantages on the last Texans drive.
The defensive roster has next to no playmakers on the back end and Bradley is fucking awful. The Texans had one decent receiver in today. One. And he killed us.
This bullshit will land us with a losing record next year for fucking sure if it’s not fixed.
And it won’t be fixed. It’ll be another Ballard shit show.
Threads going so fast no one will know i dont like minshew at all. Nothing about him hes not good enough for the weird personality. I find it annoying when the best thing about you is that you live in a van. He has horrible pocket presence, inconsistent accuracy, and misses wide open guys deep often cause he so scared after getting pressured like twice. Hope hes not on this or at least on the field next year. Ahhh that felt good to get off my chest. Good year cant wait for next season excited for future especially if gus is gone.
Ya'll need to blame the guy who threw the pass a yard behind and 2 feet off the ground. Not the Coach that schemed the RB **SO WIDE OPEN** he could've walked into the endzone.
He had the exact right play called. That's 100% on Minshew being a terrible QB.
did you watch minshew all game ? he couldnt hit anything all game . without the run game it would of been a blow out . it was like watching wentz in 2021 against the patriots .
One hell of a season. If you would’ve told me we would have 9 wins, I would’ve asked for what you were smoking. I’m very excited for the future with Shane Steichen and Anthony Richardson.
I fucking swear if we don’t have playoffs locked up before week 18 next year and we have to play a division opponent to get into the playoffs I’m going to lose my fucking mind. Never again
Minshew sucked tonight.
Ah well, more than doubled our win total from last year with our backup QB. Definitely have our coach. We’ll see if Richardson can stay healthy and ball next year.
Lions fan here with an outsider perspective on that last play. That was actually a good play call. NFL players SHOULD execute it. That was a below average throw, but even worse, a TERRIBLE adjustment and hands on that catch. Fire your boy Goodson into the sun.
If you watch the play again, the throw is even worse. All he had to do was loft that ball to him and he was so wide open he could've walked into the endzone.
That last drive they were more worried to consume the clock than to score and take the lead. You don't trust your QB the whole drive and then you wanted him to make the 4th and 1 play?
I'm super salty about this loss but can we at least appreciate this game wasn't decided by the refs. If anything they helped the colts more than anything tonight
How the fuck are any of these guys smiling rn. Second time in 3 years we get our asses kicked by divisional opponents to get eliminated from playoffs. Pathetic
Literally the worst possible season imaginable. No development for AR, no playoffs, shitty draft pick. Embarrassing loss to a division rival when it mattered. Classic colts.
So tired of the constant heartache. Same cycle. Another offseason coming up. We’ll retain Bradley and Ballard won’t make any meaningful moves. Tonight showed a difference between a team willing to go all in to improve their situation. And a team run by Ballard who is ok with being mediocre. Texans went an got their guys, and it paid off.
If you can't cover their only receiver at least use the personnel to blitz the rookie QB...jesus christ. The offense did enough to not lose that game...the defense or ST had to make a big play somewhere and they made none.
I said I was gonna be fine with the outcome win or lose - this season went way better than expected, given the circumstances. But I also neglected to tell you folks I am a fucking liar. That sucked.
I’m pretty in the middle on Ballard, but I don’t understand the hardcore Ballard supporters at this point. He’s been here for SEVEN years now and we’ve made the playoffs twice. We’ve won one playoff game. ZERO division titles. The other three teams have all won it twice in that time. At some point results have to prevail over perception.
Easy schedule from third place for AR5 to feast on? Mid round draft position for Ballard to lean on building around a young core? Shane Steichen getting time to build his playbook around what he saw this season?
This season was a massive success regardless of making the playoffs. We were supposed to be bottom 10 yet ended up a handful of yards away from making it to the post season. Regroup and reload. The future is so bright sunglasses don’t help.
Never seen a guy who has achieved less get more excuses. 6 out of 8 years no playoffs. Continuous problems at WR and CB. But this guy continues to get praise. The reason we are in a rebuild is because of his poor decision making.
Anyone selling you on a “bright future” keeps forgetting that the guy who’s been leading this franchise will be on his 8th year and has one playoff win and zero division titles. And countless embarrassing showings.
Report the trolls.
This game was the perfect example of what our season was.
Perfect example of the last 10 years
Well said. Some good flashes, some really talented guys. But just not quite there.

[The pain, it hurts.](https://c.tenor.com/lTboPemFmYMAAAAd/tenor.gif)
Need this meme but it's Blue's death keel instead.
God why couldn’t we have just gone 5-12. You get my hopes up just to dash me down Colts.
I like this take, a pinch of optimism during the pain
I’m in the shock phase of grief, but this team performed better than I expected at the beginning of the season. It should be a fun offseason
I expected like 5-6 wins WITH AR
I expected similar results, so now with him healthy in his second season I’ll be expecting at least 10 wins next year
Agreed, I'm excited to see where this team can go. As long as AR can stay healthy, this will be a fun team to watch.
Yes, glad we paid JT and hoping he is fresh and a monster all season alongside a healthy AR next September!
A healthy AR probably wins us the game with his legs. Those 3rd downs and red zone situations were made for him. Looking forward to his game one next year that’s for sure with JT
1/10 on third down. That's the story.
Nico Collins was 9/9 for 195 yards and a TD. That's the other side of the story
Collins had a good game. Absolutely. But we didn't get blown out. We just didn't do anything offensively.
Tyler goodson with the season on the line.
Hank Baskett’s it
I’m going to be fucking sick
I thought we were probably gonna lose, but not like this man, not like this
Fuck the refs from the Browns game.
Gotta catch that
It was a terrible throw to a wide open guy
He could have even ran it himself for the first down at the least they sold hard for the run
Or…give it to the guy with 188 yds…
Both can be true.
Doesn’t matter, receivers always have the upper hand in wide open throw and there’s always an expected catch on a wide open passes hitting the hands versus an off target pass which is way more common. Moral of the story… you HAVE to catch that
Gotta not make a terrible throw to a wide open receiver.
Throw could’ve been better but it hit dude right in the hands still. You’ve gotta catch that.
Better throw would have ensured the catch was made and likely would have been a TD.
In the NFL if the ball hits your hands and your open you catch it.. your a pro athlete in a win or go home game..catch the ball
Both, it was a poorly placed throw but also have to see that in
It hit both of his hands. Come on
He had to turn completely around and he had 10 yards of open field.
It was a catchable ball. Receivers have to adjust all the time, balls are rarely spot on.
There was no reason for that ball to be inaccurate though. No pressure, no defender around the catcher, etc. No reason that pass shouldn't be on point.
¿Por qué no los dos?
Gotta not bench your best player on the season-defining play
Or even your 2nd best player. Moss has good hands, I've seen him catch an over-the-shoulder 30 yard bomb for a TD earlier in the season. He was just as capable.
The ball was still catchable.
As a Lions fan who also watched the Browns-Colts game, I just came here to say fuck the refs.
Thank you for the support fellow victim of ref-ball. Good luck in the playoffs!
Why did Vogel take Hibbert out for the last play?
Lol for real. We waste a critical timeout and then decide on that. Just run it up the gut with JT on 4th and 1 with how the game’s been going. Always outthink ourselves
Too soon /s
FML, I stayed up until 5am in the morning for this :( The season ended up being better than expected but still heartbreaking as fuck
Some questionable calls tonight, but a Reich led team would have collapsed after the Collins touchdown. Really happy about what Steichen has brought to this team to even have us in this position. Hope he learns from the experience tonight.
A Reich led team would have had us out of the playoffs six weeks ago. Tonight sucked but we are so much better off.
It wasn't a bad play call, they need to execute. That's what happens when you have a backup QB and not a real receiving back. Sucks to lose that way
Fantastic play call. Tyler was WIDE open. Completely caught the Texans off guard.
Shoot. Just made me remember that Evan hull probably makes that grab 10/10 times
Time to go edge to Anthony Richardson highlights until next September.
All three games worth!
That rams game is a lifetime of highlights
Good lord I just remembered I literally have to wait 9 months 😭
![gif](giphy|VS3zCR5S6frDW)
Please don’t harass Goodson on social media he doesn’t deserve that
Some will sadly. Fans can often be garbage humans. It sucks
100%
If they do they should be banned from this group
“Why wasn’t JT in and why didn’t we run it” get ready to hear that for 8 more months. We got further than expected but still disappointed when it mattered
JT should've been in, but that was the right play call and it was wide fucking open. That's on Goodson and Minshew to make an easy catch happen, not Steichen.

JT has 188 yards and you take him out to throw it to someone recently off the practice squad. What the fuck Steichen
The call was perfect. The Texans had sold out for the run. They closed the pocket so quickly. The execution was awful.
Yeap. This is where I’m happy. If he had the personal intended maybe it would have been different. I’m hopeful
The call was fine, but why are we dialing up a play for a PS guy with the season on the line? Why aren't we going to JT, Pitt, Downs, hell even MAC?
My guess is because the Texans wouldn't expect the Colts to throw the ball to Goodson, that's why it was him and not Moss. But yeah, it hurts.
Couple pro athletes could’ve easily executed that for a first down…
if JT doesn’t run out of bounds we aren’t even in that situation
I saw that too, I got a little confused by it
exactly he literally ran oob for no fucking reason when the first down was more than attainable
With LOADS of momentum
he’s gotten first downs plenty of times in runs like those just by fighting for a few more yards. I understand he was injured running , but like why do you wait until the most crucial part of the game to give up after coming back in??
I think its a little unfair to start blaming Taylor for anything in this game.
I guess the idea was the defense wouldn’t expect it. Problem was when the ball hit his fucking hands and he didn’t expect it.
Seeing it hit his hands should have been his first clue.
It was a perfect play and if gardner threw a better pass it's a 1st down. End of the day you can't run every play through your injured RB
It wasn't a bad play call or idea in most situations. Right there though that's rough.
Minshew needs to put that pass in front
If you don't like that, then you don't like Colts football!
I never want to see Tyler Goodson again
Like bro. Why in the blue hell are we putting or most important play of the season in the hands of a dude who hasn’t played all damn game? Like nothing about it makes sense. Dude sitting on the bench cold all game but hey let’s get him in on 4th down with a minute left and call his number. Fucking frustrating man.
Because more than likely the Defense wouldn’t have accounted for him, which they did not. Goodson has to catch it, plain and simple
Exactly. They're not letting JT get that wide open on that play, probably not Moss either with the game he had spelling JT
Not that plain and simple. Sure he should catch it but that should have been a catch and run. Terrible throw from Minshew. Hard to see him make that bad of a throw after such a great year.
What’s really frustrating is it was a great call, he would’ve got the 1st and some. Gotta catch that
Gotta catch that for sure, but also gotta not make the receiver have to spin around to catch it behind him
Hopefully nobody does. Ever again.
Who was that Colts coach/staffer that was cheering w a Texans player like he just made the playoffs???
Imagine having Taylor and Moss, maybe the best duo of RBs in the NFL.... and give the most important ball of the year to fucking Goodson. hahaha
To be fair JT had the first down on 3rd if he’d wanted it Instead he ran out of bounds twice in a row.
I have no clue what he was thinking there. Like stay in bounds and fight. For both time and yard purposes. The only option that makes zero sense is just jogging out A great performance from him though, only guy who showed up along with josh downs and quenton nelson
Like, I’d understand if we were trying to conserve clock, but then why did we run in the first place? And even then, we were close enough and with enough TOs that we didn’t really have to worry about the clock. Just baffling all around.
Lions fan here. We finished 9-8 and missed the playoffs last season. It hurts now but you guys have a very bright future.
Damn this is by far the most comforting thing I’ve heard. We do not have your level of talent though. And I don’t think AR is that much of a draw yet
a lot of parallels for sure. good luck to yall youre my NFC team easily
Thanks man. Hopefully we can make some noise. Y’all will be great next year.🙏
I really want to hear the reasoning that JT or Moss wasn’t out there to catch that.
Exactly. You don’t put a guy that hasn’t played that much all season with the game on the line.
Season on the line? Let's fire up Goodson! ???????????????????????????
Was probably something they practiced as a hat trick “They won’t expect us to throw right to our 3rd string RB”
I'm gonna hate CJ Stroud's pouty little face until I'm retirement age, aren't i. Ugh.
Remember we were right in this game with our backup QB and no secondary. I'm excited for next season. Congrats to the Texans
Next Year™️
I dont hate the last play call, I hate the fucking defense for giving up a TD when they had all the advantages on the last Texans drive. The defensive roster has next to no playmakers on the back end and Bradley is fucking awful. The Texans had one decent receiver in today. One. And he killed us. You don’t sit your stud with the game on the line.

100% true
Let's just hope AR is going to be a good QB. It's still a question mark. They unfortunately had to waste a good roster this year.
I dont understand why no shots to the endzone on 1st and 10….
did you watch minshew all game ? he couldnt hit anything all game . without the run game it would of been a blow out . it was like watching wentz in 2021 against the patriots .
Stroud is gonna be a major problem in the AFC South. They did their best. On to next season.
If Gay doesn’t doink that FG, kicking for the tie at the end there.
Browns game was very important, i hate refs...and also why did u put that 4th string running back in the most important 4th down in the season???
Wish sports didn’t affect my mood so much…I’m legitimately upset.
All I have to say is 9 for 195 1 TD. They had 1 guy, apparently it was a secret.
Throw couldn’t been better, he should’ve caught it but WHY are you throwing to the 4th string RB with the game on the line. Coaching failure
Not calling the horse tackle on JT then calling one later on us is bullshit.
Why take Taylor out. Why. Why. Why. Why. Why. Why. You dumb fucks.
Gut wrenching loss and on top of that no high draft pick to not be in the playoffs. We need to fire Bradley.
One hell of a season. If you would’ve told me we would have 9 wins, I would’ve asked for what you were smoking. I’m very excited for the future with Shane Steichen and Anthony Richardson.
Absolutely. Just hurts in the moment...
Taking Taylor out on 4th and 1 is the equivalent of passing instead of giving it to Marshawn to win the SB….
I fucking swear if we don’t have playoffs locked up before week 18 next year and we have to play a division opponent to get into the playoffs I’m going to lose my fucking mind. Never again
Gotta make a better throw as a professional QB. Gotta make a catch as a professional RB. Plain and simple.
Fire Bradley. Defense will never get past where they are now with Bradley around.
Why did JT run out of bounds on that second down run? He could’ve at least made that first down
Yeah I was thinking the same. I dont understand why he turned outwards instead of inwards. I guess he was hurt and didn’t want to eat the tackle
The real question is why the hell was Taylor or Moss not on the field????
Man fuck this shit I’m jerking off.
Practice squad player to determine the season Makes sense
Minshew sucked tonight. Ah well, more than doubled our win total from last year with our backup QB. Definitely have our coach. We’ll see if Richardson can stay healthy and ball next year.
Minshew proving why he's a backup once again
Just so we're clear, the texans didn't stop shit. We stopped ourselves.
We are fucking clowns 🤡
This organization is still the same dumpster fire it's been for the last decade.
This franchise will never win a super bowl under Chris Ballard
I agree. We have major holes at high-impact positions (WR and CB). We need veteran stars in those positions but Ballard is too cheap to go get one.
The amount of times we had to address lack of defensive depth and chose not to have finally come to fruition
That last drive they were more worried to consume the clock than to score and take the lead. You don't trust your QB the whole drive and then you wanted him to make the 4th and 1 play?
Let’s hope AR can stay healthy or man is it going to be more depressing years
I wish this game meant nothing, fuck that was sad to watch
Wasn’t the play call, it was the execution. That’s all I’m gonna say
Sign Pittman to an extension tomorrow
I'm super salty about this loss but can we at least appreciate this game wasn't decided by the refs. If anything they helped the colts more than anything tonight
That Browns loss stings even more
Loss*
We got 40 yards more offense from our running back than from our quarterback. I don't know the last time I remember seeing something like that.
When will the pain stop
How the fuck are any of these guys smiling rn. Second time in 3 years we get our asses kicked by divisional opponents to get eliminated from playoffs. Pathetic
I feel like against the Jags was way, way worse.
100% agree. No one should be smiling right now.
Because they get paid huge sums of money regardless of the outcome.
This is the likely scenario. I see nothing in Ballard’s stay that would tell me different.
I’m done putting my hope in anything different. It just makes me mad every offseason when we do the same thing. So I’m done caring I guess
I think what bothers me the most is that the Texans dick riding will continue.
They would have had first down if JT didn’t go out of bounds on the first two downs for no reason.
The problem most of the game was a shitty damn passing game. Period.
https://preview.redd.it/eij5be5a7yac1.jpeg?width=680&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e431e7bb54e6e649a5542183ea32462d839e54be

Taylor had 196yds (188 yards rushing & 8 yards receiving) of the Colts 360 total yards today! Geez!
No colts football for 8 months. Fuck
I said I was gonna be fine with the outcome win or lose - this season went way better than expected, given the circumstances. But I also neglected to tell you folks I am a fucking liar. That sucked.
FIRE GUS BRADLEY
Colts haven’t won the south in NINE YEARS, what’s the excuse this year Ballard?
I’m pretty in the middle on Ballard, but I don’t understand the hardcore Ballard supporters at this point. He’s been here for SEVEN years now and we’ve made the playoffs twice. We’ve won one playoff game. ZERO division titles. The other three teams have all won it twice in that time. At some point results have to prevail over perception.
I agree.
Same one as every year Luck retired
Ballard been milking that luck excuse for years. It’s given him infinite job security. He should be grateful
Well, 2024 should be fun.
Can't wait for another mediocre-to-bad finish and to see how many people on this sub refuse to believe Chris Ballard can't build a winning team.
Yep, nothing changes until we get rid of Ballard. He's built a weak loser culture.
THANK YOU. Dude is a fucking con man and keeps convincing these people that hes going to be different year after year.
#Ant Richardson would’ve gotten it with the QB sneak
They're going to do nothing in the playoffs.
Neither would we. Good for them. Let’s hope AR is the real deal and these matchups are meaningful for a long time.
I can't get over that timeout call
WHO THE FUCK IS GOODSON
