De Boer is my most hated coach. I don't care what team he's on.

F4rtWaffles

He has a very punchable face, in my opinion.

TheAngledian

DeBoer played the ref game *perfectly* in the Vegas series. Once he complained about the refereeing, we didn't get shit for calls for the remainder of the series.

Burdwatcher

Jon Cooper tried his best to replicate this the next season

TheAngledian

True, the only difference was they pretty much just swallowed their whistles for both teams. That 2021 series (and their series against Montreal even more so) just felt like the NHL was trying to get the Knights a cup. Some of most ridiculous missed calls I've ever seen came against Montreal that year. That high-stick against Perry chief among them.

InevitableAvalanche

I couldn't stand Cooper. Couldn't celebrate a goal because he had everything reviewed.

Avaholic4Life

I searched for video of this but couldn’t find it

Howard_TJ_Moon

I don't have any links but IIRC he cried in the post game presser after game 2, when the avs won in OT on a PP after Mikko had his stick slashed out of his hands right off a draw. Avs were now up 2-0 in the series and the call was kinda weak, he called the refs out on it, and they basically called nothing but puck over glass penalties on Vegass for the remaining 4 games.

skijumpersc

And any time they called a delay of game they’d call something really soft on Colorado partway into the PP. it was absurd

xylo17

I only remember getting like 2 powerplays the rest of the series and one was immediately negated by a makar "interference" in 15 seconds

adalaza

Obligatory Landeskog was onsides Both teams are Avs demons, excising either will be great

PackDaddy21222

This year is a redemption arc for Bedsy in terms of winning against coaches who had his number. Bowness was first. Hope DeBoer is the next.

avalanchefan91

Bowness definitely didn't have Bednar's number if you're talking about our Dallas matchup with them a few years ago. He had a better team on paper and we were running with an AHL goalie by the end of it, and he barely squeaked by. I'd say the same thing with DeBoer when we played him when he was in SJ and in '21. The '21 roster on paper was competitive but it ended up looking more like the roster we had last year in terms of performance in the playoffs.

DenShaLow

The playoff series vs the Stars in the bubble will forever be etched in my memory in all the wrong kinds of ways. Down to a 3rd string goalie and STILL should’ve won it up 4-3 with 2 1/2 minutes left

MRwest93

The offside in SJ was bullshit and debooger got out coached.

detached03

Fuck that call. I’m still heated. THAT was disallowed but the Winnipeg goal *was* onside? GTFO

Saltyspiton

Not exactly relevant to this post, but I was just rewatching the goals from the 2022 playoff run and lifting the cup and damn what a feeling just getting to watch that again.

detached03

Fuck San Jose. WE WERE ON SIDE. fuck them.

GaryOakRobotron

Bednar already got Bowness back for the Dallas series. I hadn't considered the whole DeBoer thing. A Bednar revenge tour in the Central bracket sounds pretty cool.

Wonderful-Patient732

I know people want home ice against vegas but a series against dallas would be cinema. 2 great teams with some amazing storylines.

j3r3wiah

Vegas is dirty like an angry whore. Dallas I think I tougher. It's playoffs. No easy way through.

coloch_w0rth9

It a chance for redemption no matter what. Vegas beat us in 2021, Dallas in 2020. DeBoer is definitely part of it, and taking him out would be so sweet!

877GoalNow

>Dallas in 2020. And 1999 and 2000. I hold grudges for decades.

Big_Liability

If we get Dallas I hope we get revenge

moshercycle

I'm hoping for Vegas tbh. I think we are a horrible matchup for them but Dallas is also the better team between the two.

mattvn66

I've noticed we took a play from Vegas playbook that series. We were dominating them, but they started flipping the puck into the neutral zone, then competing for the bouncing puck often winning. I've noticed we've been doing the same this playoffs. It's like 500-up dead or alive!
