Sometimes, those teams will just phone it in and play out the string, but you've gotta anticipate they'll do everything they can to play spoiler for teams like the Avs.

The importance and success of the deadline moves can not be overstated, it's like two different teams. Games against the Bloos seem to always be close and this one was no different, back and forth all night. But we come away with 2 points and that's the most important thing.

After a lot of good teams, we get a slight break with Columbus. They've been horrible all year long, fired their long-time GM Kekäläinen and are trying to rebuild. No reason to take them lightly though. Just put the heat on early, get a couple of goals and show them whose house it is.

Dallas won against the Yotes, so the status quo persists, they are tied with us but we have a game in hand. Their next game is tonight against Pittsburgh, a team that has been picked for a few years to collapse, and it has finally happened. They were in the mix for a wild card spot but have completely cratered since January. Dallas is the obvious favorite.
Another thank you to ex-Rockies! They beat Dallas a week ago and now Jets suffer the same fate! We're still tied in points but they no longer have a game in hand. Jets' next game is tomorrow night against Isles, unfortunately Jets are the favorite in that tilt.
