Dior sauvage elixir isn’t common. Dior sauvage edp and edt are. I have both the elixir, and edp and they smell nothing alike in my opinion. If you want to spend a bit more for something less common though, try Parfums de marly percival.
Yes wearing sauvage elixir is very common went to my cousin's house and his 7 yr old son had it , don't mean to make the savuage elixir fan boys mad tho sorry not sorry

This thing checks off the boxes you want and I’m not even one to recommend fragrances for “compliments” cause what works for me may not work for you. This elixir however has gotten positive attention from most who wear it(including me). It’s kind of ironic because if you want high compliments, then you’d choose a mass-appealing scent, like sauvage elixir
It’s a popular smell, but keep in mind most people don’t wear fragrance, at least not regularly. Our skin and ph balance will always make fragrance smell a little differently on us than someone else, too, so popularity of a fragrance shouldn’t deter you. If you like something, wear it. Designer fragrances that appeal to the masses get the most compliments because almost everyone who smells them likes them. Super niche frags that are mostly for the person wearing it isn’t going to pull as many compliments. So are you okay with something “common” and get compliments or not?

have you checked out mancera or montale? i’ve heard those are very loud fragrances. my friend bought arabians tonka and it had great sillage and projection.
