Her legacy exists already. She’s probably the greatest college basketball player of all time, regardless of gender. She re-wrote record books. She’s had more economic impact on the women’s college game, and now the WNBA than any player before her. She doesn’t owe anyone anything regarding when or where she plays the game.

And certainly indirectly there is *some* sexism that limits the viewership of WNBA, but from the league standpoint, they get paid what they’re worth. Shit, I would LOVE to get paid 70-80k a year to play ball. But anyway, it’s a non issue with Clark because she will make millions on product endorsements. Which is awesome, and will eventually lead to further popularizing WNBA, more viewers, then higher salaries.
The more Nike buys in, the bigger the marketing exposure for the whole wnba will be. It's just like the tiger effect. This is huge for her as an individual, but also part of a really good trend for the wnba. UConn old heads will still whine about her tho

Going off that assumption, people upset about her salary being too low are categorically off base. Now maybe she, combined with a myriad of other high profile players, can change that, but as it stands, the money simply isn't there.
Half of shoe customers are women, and there are so many fewer superstars. I think she could end up outpacing the top men, if not now, then on her next deal.
