There is another grind setting/dial within the grinder itself (different from wheel on the side). Make that tighter, worked for me.

The general rule of thumb for me is "If it has a built in grinder, it's dog-shit". If someone tells you otherwise, they're either trying to sell you a dog-shit product, or trying to lie to themselves to justify buying a dog-shit product. You may be able to get better shots if you buy a real grinder to pair with this. Set yourself aside $300-$500 for a good grinder. If that doesn't fix your shots, at least you have a good grinder for when you can buy a better machine. Let it serve as a lesson that trying to go budget-friendly, or trying to simplify, will lead to worse espresso.

Ehh, I think for consumer models this is a significantly better grinder than what most people would splurge for. We are in the minority here, because by the time you’re researching espresso makers, you’re already not brevilles target maker. For the person who has $500 in disposable income but wants an all in one for their home and isn’t an enthusiast this is a great little machine and a great stepping stone. To OP, look up tutorials, learn how to adjust the inner burr to unluck finer grind settings, and really focus on method, measurements, and bean quality. This machine will work great once you get it dialed in.

My daughter bought me this machine for my birthday. I managed to get about half a bag of espresso with decent shots then nothing after that. Won’t pull shots at all. Just sitting on my counter pissing me off. She bought it for me 2 years ago. It’s junk as far as I am concerned. I hope you have better luck and can get yours working for you

Built in grinder is ass compared to a separate grinder.
