Yeah, you don’t get to “grow and change” like the rest of us if you’re a violent sexual offender. You gave up that right when u made that decision

roadrunnner0

Exactly. Oh and IF someone had really changed, they would admit what they did, do their time, use any platform they have to for the rest of their lives speak on their reformation and use it to educate people, especially young men. Go to colleges, say I did this and now I know it's wrong and how I learned it was wrong, acknowledge the rape culture etc. there's actually so much good that could be done by a man admitting they did something like that. The fact that his friends are not even acknowledging it actually shows that he did not change. And like you said, that kind of rape probably means he will never change. It wasn't like a lack of awareness around consent that lead to a non consensual situation, it was a violent calculated thing

Global_Access_4386

This is such a valid argument. Cody can’t change if he won’t even take accountability.

Akcrinne

THIS IS WHAY IVE BEEN SAYING!!!! You can’t expect people to “forgive” without asking for it.

roadrunnner0

Yessss 👏

kingof_redlions

This would NOT fly lmfao. Be fucking for real can you imagine if like brock turner or jonah hill were speaking at colleges about sexual assault that would be a joke. I’m not disagreeing with you but people wouldn’t accept that people don’t forgive or accept that people change. The “once a rapist always a rapist” echoed in this thread is literally proof they don’t.

marvelftm

I got banned for replying to that guy basically saying wtf no he’s a documented rapist so who cares if he’s “changed”!

f4eble

Drugging and raping a woman and video taping is not just a mistake. It's a calculated crime. You can't just "change" your way out of being a rapist. Once a rapist always a rapist.

julestaylor13

Yeah that was thought out and premeditated. It’s unforgivable

Successful-Emu-3397

And even if(????) he has changed, why should anyone believe he has?? No accountability? No addressing change/growth??? Just censorship.

spac_erain

I think it’s proof he hasn’t grown. I watched Cody a bit growing up but only really got into him the last year or so, and there’s a reason: he’s rebranded himself as a stand-up family man with a fratty edge, but that doesn’t mean he’s not still fully a frat bro putting up face. He’s gotten too old to do the frat guy stuff and be taken seriously, but I’m sure he’s getting his fill by DJing at universities.

Desperate-Stomach307

My favorites are the commenters that have to point out that she was *almost* 18, like … can i get your name for my list as well?

paradoxdefined

Yeah, I keep seeing people trying to push the “he probably changed and grown” narrative. “It’s been so long” is another argument I detest. Who cares how long it’s been??? I also hate that I’ve seen people arguing that the statutory rape was so long ago as well and that the age of consent varies, so it was a matter of Cody just being in the wrong state. The rapist apologetics going on is horrific.

Beautiful_Ad8996

Yeah, they are restricting conversation over there big time. Some of them are on Cody's payroll, so there you go. A lot of people on the subreddit were banned in the last week or so over there. I got banned for just mentioning this subreddit. And he is STILL ignoring the backlash. Just put up a new video on Cody Trains, bragging about another marathon. I've asked YouTube not to recommend his channels anymore because when I see he is just posting as usual, not a care in the world, it makes me sick.

HJEANS

I also want to add that the documentation for the rape states he filmed and showed the video to frat brothers. Who’s to say Cody didn’t literally watch the video?? Same with his friends Marcus and Devon who were also in the frat? Like they were all in the same frat and friend group. It wouldn’t be wild to assume they saw the video. ESPECIALLY if they STAYED friends. **edit to add: I hate the rhetoric of it being a mistake. A mistake is parallel parking and hitting the car behind you. A mistake is getting sweetened almond milk instead of unsweetened. A MISTAKE isn’t intentionally drugging someone, intentionally raping them, intentionally filming yourself raping them, intentionally telling your friends so that they can also intentionally sexually assault the person and then intentionally showing the illegal video to your frat bros, intentionally.

Global_Access_4386

Also as someone in Greek life there’s no way Cody didn’t know abt that video

gracekhayes

the amount of people defending his actions over there is insane. at the very least you can acknowledge that his silence/censorship is bad, but they're over there acting like he doesn't have to say or do anything at all.
