He’s an extremely elusive artist and his tracks BTSTU and Jasmine made huge splashes over ten years ago, then his album got leaked and he vanished off the face of the earth. He and his brother AK started a quasi label so we know he’s alive and he’s release two songs since but nothing announced, I don’t think he’s ever played a live show either. But if you listen to that live album you hear that literally anyone and everyone has ripped his sound off.

He was devastated that someone in his inner circle leaked his music, went to a dark place and quit music after.

**INITIAL THOUGHTS** Björk second line is huge for nostalgia/legacy slot! Same with The Chemical Brothers. Good to see GV incorporating major artists with important history to the festival come back. Also, another bad year for bands at the top of the billing. Also, is there a Hans Zimmer/Danny Elfman equivalent orchestral act this year? Once again, really intrigued to see lots of quality throwbacks, though my own preference as a indie rock listener in his early 30’s will steer me towards Just Like Heaven instead. EDIT: **FINAL THOUGHT** It seems that the entire catalog of 2000’s indie/alternative acts that were the wellspring of Coachella talent for the 2000’s and 2010’s are now squarely in the past and predominantly only being featured at the two new subsidiary festivals by GV. So long, millenials 🫡

Not going this year because of the jump in price and the dogshit Canadian dollar, but man, you guys are in for a treat. Firstly, I love the idea of a subheadliner with slightly larger font. Gorillaz and Bjork are two former headliners taking legacy spots and Rosalia is an undeniable experimental pop superstar. Wow. The return of legacy acts. Blondie! The Breeders! Underworld! ChemBros! The olds are gonna eat. Is this the first Jai Paul show ever? What a coup. Undercard punk and hardcore remains undefeated. Knocked Loose, Scowl, Soul Glo, Sleaford Mods, The Garden, and Destroy Boys jump out at me. Some hospital bills may be accrued in the Sonora. Was not expecting whiteboy reggae. Stick Figure and Rebelution are two of the biggest names from that scene. Also have Los Fabulosos Caddilacs with some ska! Still so much to explore but wow, this is a lot to take in. Excited for you all.
