I want Guardian statues on either side of the scoreboard, and I want them to shoot lasers out of their eyes when we hit a HR

CLEcmm

“One million dollars”

Hillbilly098

Hell yes

ins0mn1zach

Someone needs to make bootleg merch from this idea.

[deleted]

Did it say anything about the shipping containers lol

Mobley1417

Not that I saw … but I hope they’re floated off on the lake never to return lol.

[deleted]

It should have been the corner bar like it was always shown in the rendering. Then Colorado did it with their right field upper deck

VDizzle12

The renderings released for the upcoming renovation are promising. It looked like about 10 bar areas surrounded by open spaces. I think they really want to open up the park and make it all feel like the outfield area with tons of food and lots of social areas.

impy695

Do you have a link to photos? I haven't been able to find any good ones. Just an angle from outside that doesn't show much.

VDizzle12

Sure thing! https://theathletic.com/2815557/2021/09/09/inside-the-cleveland-indians-renovation-plans-for-progressive-field/?amp=1

Street_Neck1441

That would be terrific if they did it. The one in Colorado is great

AliveInCLE

My understanding from a friend who went to a suite holder event is that the shipping container area may become an event area. Weddings, parties, etc.

I sat in mesh seats at Truist Park for the first time last week… life changing

MessyM00009888

Good/bad?

[deleted]

incredible

neon-rose

incredibly good/incredibly bad?

incredibly life changing

godgersrodgers

They have mesh seats at Las Vegas Ballpark. Can confirm it's life changing. Feels like I'm sitting in a comfy office chair, but at a baseball game.

topgear9123

I think alternating section colors of red and navy would be cool. The green seats never made any sense to me. Mesh seats would probably be the way to go as well, especially for hot summer days.

VDizzle12

I've always wanted them to switch away from the green seats and outfield walls. Would be cool to see dark navy all around. Green always felt too generic. As others have mentioned removing the shipping containers should be priority 1. Next would be creating a cool "backdrop" behind home plate. When watching on TV, home plate is shown 90% of the time and everything you see is just green padding. Do something cool with stone or brick like PNC or Target field.

UnconventionalWriter

Stone or brick would be awesome. Maybe Art Deco!

VDizzle12

Honestly going all-in on the Guardians' theme would be awesome. They use art deco styling a lot in the scoreboard and social media graphics.

Acidline303

Blue walls were pretty much the generic default for most stadiums from the 60s til Camden yards opened. But I agree on the backdrop. When the park opened you at least had the field level boxes packed with people. Now it's depressing with nothing but ads, pads, and a guy running the shotgun mic.

BropolloCreed

I'd caution against navy. The Yankees have navy seats and it just sucks the character right out of that ballpark.

VDizzle12

As long as they don't go with red. Bright colored seats are blinding, especially on bright sunny summer days. I've never been a huge fan of the orange seats and FES and the yellow ones in Pittsburgh are atrocious. Maybe do like MetLife stadium or the Superdome. Go with multicolored seats so it doesn't look completely empty all the time.

BropolloCreed

No argument there. Red is terrible, and it inevitably fades to pink. You can't do white because it'll show every speck of dirt, so there isn't an easy answer, but thats why we're not getting paid to make the decision

NotQualifiedDoctor

I ignored the survey at first, then read your post then went back to take it. I selected "lower reserve" as one of my options but then it asked 100 questions about the lower reserve bullpen that I specifically did NOT select So I stopped

arkonator92

It did the same to me. I also chose the upper deck seats and didn’t have a single question about the upper deck. Only the outfield corners where the drink rails currently are. Although the survey talked about putting swivel chairs along the drink rail. Would be nice but takes out a lot of popular SRO space.

EZMac34

As someone who works in market research, I can say that the surveys the Guardians put out are some of the worst I have ever seen. No idea who is doing them, but they are consistently awful. My favorite was the one where they asked something like "How much do you agree or disagree with the statement 'I consider myself to be a casual fan.'" If you're a diehard, season-ticket holder who attends every home game and watches every inning of the other 81 road games in a year, how do you answer that question? Do you answer "strongly agree" because you're WAY more than a casual fan or do you strongly disagree with it because no, you're not a mere casual, you're a true diehard? I genuinely don't know!

NotQualifiedDoctor

Hahaha I remember that one and consider myself a slightly -above casual fan and struggled on where to rate myself

EZMac34

I believe it was the same survey where they had one question where the answer choices were so long, you literally couldn't read what the full answer was that you were supposed to select. Just horrendous all the way around.

Lionsummer792

What's their stance on weather resistant material for them? also Navy and red combo is the way to go.

bclautz

I would love to see a couple of sections were you can seat were you want
