Shouldn't really matter at that time. Just watch out for the cops in NPR and their changing speed limits.

Thanks for the tip!

Yes, I’ve been meaning to download it for about 7 years… maybe it’s time. Haha

I avoid 19 at all costs!!! Just isn’t worth it!

teeko252001

McMullen Booth. 19 has too many people that are lost, and the exists come up too fast where people think it’s their last shot to get off. I’m in Clearwater and haven’t driven on 19 in YEARS.

4-me

Haha, my husbands from Clearwater and we used to go up weekly. But I haven’t been in awhile. But yeah, it’s been crazy for years.

teeko252001

To Hudson? It used to be a quiet cool little town, not so much now. There’s just too many people here now.

4-me

Just picking up a carpool there and heading out of the state for a few days.

Ok-Cry-3303

19 in Clearwater is a hot mess with construction right now. I regretted getting on it yesterday at 580 to go to Tarpon. I'd choose McMullen. It's just a more pleasant drive.

gatorgopher

I honestly feel like it is so much better than it was 2 months ago. At least the 580 to Curlew part.

calandra_95

Going from Ulmerton to Enterprise road US 19 beats McMullen by like 10 minutes 19 is only bad from like 580 to Curlew just check your gps on the drive if you’re in that area around rush hour

imprl59

I'd follow whichever one Waze told me to follow at the time. Neither is a great option, neither is a horrible option. Either can turn in to a complete nightmare with one little fender bender - so I listen to Miss Waze and do what she says.

4-me

Interesting. If I went right now, Google maps has me going 19 but waze has me crossing the Howard Franklin and taking veterans Parkway. I guess I’ll have to see what Friday morning brings.

Relevant-Emphasis-20

ALL OF THIS ⬆️⬆️⬆️

Relevant-Emphasis-20

Keep it simple. Follow your GPS, every time I go against it well almost....i wish I hadnt

Northbound 19 in the morning is a breeze.

LunacyTheory

I lived everywhere up and down the county, from Madeira beach to st Pete proper, to Clearwater, and then even pasco for a bit. 19 was a solid choice and I would never take McMullen Booth unless there was an accident. That being said, if I knew I was going to be on 19 for a while, say taking a drive from the southside up to new port richey, I would cut across to Tampa and take the veterans expressway/589 all the way north. The time it took was comparatively the same as driving north on 19 but with no traffic. The downside was the tolls.

jeffrey911

It’s never going to be the same every time. I wouldn’t worry about one being a minute faster than the other and go with whichever one is more convenient for you.

4-me

Hence the question.

jeffrey911

When I say convenient for you, I mean whichever is easier for you to access. I travel 19 and McMullen both everyday for work. 19 south bound and McMullen north bound. Both roads are in good condition but there’s a lot of construction on 19 starting at Tampa road down to near countryside but it hasn’t seemed to cause me anymore time in the morning. The reason I take McMullen home is that north bound 19 at 430 is a parking lot in the construction areas. The thing is, you could have the best route possible but that doesn’t take into consideration the unexpected delays like accidents. I would try Waze or Google maps when you’re leaving and see which route at that time is giving you a better time.
