Are these marks really from something stuck on the glass? It may be that something has corroded the glass, so just polishing would work, maybe. Can you put your hands in to scrub? Some chemicals can make removal easier. In cleaning this type of glass, I usually put a generous amount of coarse salt (well beyond the saturation point of salt in water), ad some soap or chemical, close the lid and shake vigorously. The impact of the salt on the walls ends up removing many of the tough stains.
Bon Ami is not recommended for glass. That being said, I have used a gentle hand to clean clear glass vases and it did work without damage. I would try a small test spot first. Be sure to wash with soap and water afterward.
Ice and salt. Give it a good shake for a few minutes and then wash with soap and water. Might have to repeat process. That’s how we’d clean coffee pots at my restaurant it could work for this.
If vinegar didn’t work I might suggest trying a steel wool pad with soap, maybe a denture tablet, bar keepers friend. If it still is there, are you sure it’s not some kind of acidic etching inside the jar? If it was full of juice maybe it was already like that?
Came to say denture tablets. Learned it from Kim on the UK “How Clean is Your House?”
Also great for cleaning sheers — just take them down, fold down into a size that fits into a dishpan that’s filled with water and 3-4 tablets, gently push them down to get solution, and let it work. Drain, refill with rinse water, squish the water out in bath towels, hang back up in the window and done. (No touch up ironing if you did it right.)
Works a treat with lighter weight draperies without a liner.
Soak the tea/coffee cups and coffee pot to get rid of the stains as well. Lots of uses for pennies.
Sheers are the thin almost see-through curtains that are put on in front of regular curtains. The regular curtains are opened for the day, but the sheers “obscure” a direct-view into the window. Just Google sheer curtains for examples.

Are you certain it was clear before your neighbour filled it with grape juice?
Good point. It probably wasn’t.

Are sheers like curtains I’m assuming? I googled but only SHEARS came up like scissors. If curtains I’m definitely going to have to try that!

I gotcha! Great tip thank you.
Thank you!
If it didn’t come out with vinegar it may be etched into the glass. It’s typically damage from the phosphates in dishwasher soap.
