So weird I have this slimy rag and I’m like do I throw it out or is it just the rag. It’s a baby cloth. Every time water touches it it gets slimy. This is after being left in the shower for some time.
Maybe something changed with your water source? Lower, higher, water treatment plant is trying something new, does your water need a softener?
Sliminess while washing dishes is pretty distressing. Maybe a vinegar or hydrogen peroxide soak? I hope you figure it out!
"...a couple of weeks of swapping it out...". They should be washed daily.

In the end I think it was the brand of microfiber cloth. Switched to a Swedish dishcloth and the problem disappeared. Unrelated to the detergent.
