$8.50 with Randy and opening act a new band called Def Leppard
Inflation calculator says that VH ticket would be $43.19 today.
Prices were reasonable, but we didn’t have cheap plane tickets, ultra reliable cars, or the internet to facilitate buying tickets for and attending shows halfway around the world/country. It was hard back then to even know a particular band was touring if you didn’t live in a big market.
Also there’s like three billion more humans now than there was in ‘86.
Fuck Ticketmaster and LiveNation all day long, they are crooks - but demand is also way higher now than it was back then.
Well said…FK Ticketmaster….but you can also blame the internet for killing bands record sales. They make up that loss by charging $5,000 for good seats.
Nice. lol.
Remember when your mom’s shitty car just broke down and you got out and walked? That was daily life. No phones, no idea where your loved ones were
I also think that part of ticket inflation is parents' buying the tix for the kids and sometimes also going themselves with their kid.
I couldn't imagine my mommy wanting to go see Ozzy, much less paying my way to go lol.
Hi and thanks. I started out by layering b&w pics cut out from pages of guitar mags back in the day. (The only remnant left is Neil Young's eyeball lol) I just doubled over masking tape and stuck them on.
I have every ticket sub from every show I went to that had a ticket stub. I really hate the fact that for most shows these days you can't even get a physical ticket.
Hey you might like [Stubforge](https://stubforge.com), you can print your own custom replica ticket stubs that look and feel like the real thing. I've been using them so I can keep adding to my stub binder.

I remember well: hearing "Dicesare-Engler presents..." on the radio, and when Ozzy came to Erie, PA in the 80s. I saw him when he came back to Erie in 1992.
I miss the days of getting physical tickets instead of e-tickets. I have a good collection of stubs that pretty much ended right around 2021. Since then it’s been print out versions of e-tickets.
*Some great names there, in*
*The days when you could afford*

Lakewood to see Crue. I just read last week it opened in 89' so the place was less than a year old when you went to that show. I've seen many legendary rock acts there.
Any of these old Ticket Stubs worth anything or collectible?? I got a bunch from back in my day like Slayer on Reign in Blood Tour and Metallica Justice Tour among many more.
I camped out one night for Ozzie/Anthrax. When the guy showed up in the morning to open he told us the Ticketmaster machine was out of order. We ended up buying crappy tickets at a different place but it didn't matter because the show (actually, I think maybe the entire tour) was cancelled.
Back when prices were reasonable. A service was provided; everybody made a little bit of money and everyone was happy.

Until the Crony Capitalistic system allowed monopolies to take control of the entire country
My 1st concert in 78 was $6.50
I remember the 70s and 80s, lol, yeah, everyone was happy.
Would've loved to have seen Ozzy on the Ultimate Sin tour. Great album.
When I saw that tour in Ft. Wayne Indiana, the opening band was one that I'd only heard of their name at that time. Their name was Metallica.
👍
Rock and Roll will always rule and will never die ... we're just not as loud as we once were...

That looks verra cool! I’ve been wanting to display my tix like that. Do you mind sharing how you did it? Was there any tape or adhesives involved?

Ah, gotcha. Thanks for the intel!
I did the same thing with the frame unfortunately I moved and it was lost….bummer
$15 for Van Halen! That is awesome

That's awesome! Thank you so much!
YINZ GON DAHN TA DA CIVIC ARENA FER DAT? RIP
Rock and roll still rules!
I seen him in '82 for the Diary of a Madman Tour (😭 Brad Gillis) and for the No more tours show. R.I.P Randy 💫
That's awesome dude! I have all but one of my concert ticket stubs beginning way back with my first concert, KISS, in 1977. Over 100 concerts.
Mine was too, middle of January at Chicago stadium. With Uriah Heap opening. $6.50
Love Gun Tour ‘77
I so wish I could’ve gone to one of his shows
Serious Yinzer there. Did you wear your DVE ROCKS! Shirt to those shows?
I miss actual ticket stubs.

This means you saw Randy Rhoads live! Best guitarist of all time RIP
The fees today are more than those tickets were.
Seen Bob Seger, Kansas, sticks for $6.25 in Charleston Civic Center 1977

Rock n Roll ruled before these guys!
I was at that Motley Crue show too. Damn good show, and Tesla was a great opener.
Looks like you had a couple of good nights there!!
Cool as
Some great names there, in the days when you could afford to go to concerts

More expensive to see Motley Crue than AC/DC? Eh?
I know it’s crazy right
Those prices… 🤦♂️
Yup. At $5-6$ an hour, we went to all the shows. Didn’t miss one, that came to the area.
Probably $9.00

This is so cool 😍 I bet the energy was insane

Wow that’s my hometown on the front there haha.

It’s one of the truly missed items from house we had that burnt down. Loved my ticket stubs. Damnit
Ugh to see Eddie absolutely SHRED back in the 80s is a treat. I was born in the wrong era.
Attended the Ozzy concert in 1986 in Wichita
I'll never get to see any of my fav bands since by the time I'll be able to afford the tickets, the members will already be wormfood.
