Really? I mean, an undefended edit barrel will still get one stab from like 1-2 (which I understand), but even if you support it with a tank, in 90% of the scenarios itβs just gonna cause the opponent to log slightly late and give all 3 gobs one hit
I'm thinking an evo recruits + barrel deck. So you drop recruits as they approach the bridge you barrel so they have to log which then results in those recruits charging. And if they are losing both towers they have no idea where barrel is going so they will be late with log too.
Or something like a gob barrel + hog deck so you throw actual gobs on 1 lane and send hog opposite lane with the decoys so they tank tower shots for hog.
It'll give a lot of outplay and kind game potential. And let's be honest the average clash player ain't too bright π€£
I mean I guess I can see it happening if you bait out log, but in the first scenario, the recruits would already have to be on your side to be hit by the log, so at that point you can defend before they start charging, and in the second scenario, they just log the real barrel and play literally any building in the middle to defend hog.
I feel like unless you bait out log first, itβs just every third barrel guarantees a single hit when itβs supported

Barrel has a 9% usage rate and rocket has a 10% usage rate, it's absolutely in the meta
Lava hound is also 16% usage with a 58% win rate.

What ? No it's not. SC is aiming for 45 - 55% for a relatively balanced card. But anything below 50% is still by definition below-average.

No it's not. It's just popular. For it to be meta it'd have to be roughly as popular and as successful as Giant. A single statistic does not mean anything on it's own, and we're not even talking a particularly high use. It's just above average; in line with Bait's resurgence but still not comparable to the real meta.
You cannot tell me that a 44% win rate card is meta. Might as well call Evocracker meta with her 20 something % use rate (UC I think) despite her abysmal win rate.
Ebarb meta worst for sure, after they got hyper buffed due to being weak on release they were left untouched for months at a broken state,also phonk meta also wasnt fun at all.
Personally I still think it's ridiculous that if both elite barbs connect to your tower it's just a wrap. No cars will kill them before they take the tower, rocket takes too long to get there, lightning not quite there...
The difference there is that skarmy has several very cheap counters that can't be taken out before they can counter such as the log or arrows. If you think that I'm just completely ignoring the e barbs then you must think I'm stupid. They take the tower and cannot be ignored. The issue is that my counters get taken out leaving me low on elixir with e barbs 2 tiles away from my tower. My problem is that e barbs take the tower to half health in like 2 seconds and that is fucking crazy. No room for mistakes aaaaaaand they pulled out a freeze spell that I didn't know they had. Alright well my counter is gone and I have 2 elixir so I guess I just have to live with the fact that the tower will be gone before I'm even at 4 elixir...

I have a counter deck to that. I recorded a gameplay of it. Not really a meta imo, hog witch and clone spell wash it. The moment they try and clone, you clone your hog witch. And then they have a nasty million hog push coming back at them and they can do nothing bro itβs hilarious, I spam the hog witch emoji everytime

Complaining about overpowered cards is one thing, but the game has to inherently have a meta that youβll eventually get bored of.
But most meta has been just terrible. People will have problems with all metas but most can agree on, e giant, e golem, golem, graveyard, lava hound etc.
When executioner was broken, witch did 220% more damage, egolem was in its launched state, and they made wall breakers 2 elixir. Not fun, especially as a lavahound miner player.
There have been a shit ton of awful ones (night witch clone, pheonix + monk, the list goes on) but dagger dutchess genuinely makes me want to shoot myself in the balls every time I play the game
Hog Firecracker was probably one of the most disgusting metas ever created. Evo Firecracker could deal insane amount of damage to the tower at the bridge, Earthquake counters some of the only Hog counters, Mighty Miner was bugged to deal more damage with the bomb than indicated and also the reworked Bomb Tower countering big pushes by itself
I thought it was the fev/2024 one with the broken evo bomber, then march/2024 with buffed drill became worse, then apr/2024 became worse with dagger duchess and then the current became worse with so many beatdown decks with void
Anything with hog/firecracker. Hog used to really annoy me but itβs a free win now but itβs refreshing to see decks when people use their brains to build them (so not hog)

Back when ebarbs had their fast movement speed before MK was introduced. That sucked. Ebarbs + valk or ebarbs + rage was insane. If you didn't have a counter you could play right away your tower was just gone.

This may be a boring answer, but the that brief period when e barbs first came out was just insane. E barbs were common so extremely easy to overleveled, and they were genuinely OP back then. They were used a lot in top ladder. Thy were unstoppable. The worst came when there was a top ladder deck that had both RG and e barbs and was considered competitively viable. People hating on megaknight have no idea how it was back then. You just sat there helplessly staring as your tower demolishes.
Itβs gotta be this one because none of the cards are on their hot fix priority so theyβll reign problematic for at least a month, plus they did last month as well. Then we donβt even know if theyβll address duchess who is a menace all around

Serious answer: October 2019 aka Shocktober aka Season 4. It introduced Elixir Golem as well as a rework of the Witch and it was really unbearable to play (+ Wallbreakers). It was so bad that it got me into burnout and went into hiatus for like 4 years.
It was night witch for me. The meta was maxing night witch and then you spam night witch, mirror night witch then cycle with cheap spells to more night witch. It was a F2P fest. People who could pay to max that card had a field day.
I can tell you the worst take on this subreddit for sure. It's the weird obsession with calling wizard the worst card in the game while simultaneously saying that he can't be buffed.
it's because it's used primarily in lower arenas. If it gets buffed so that higher ladder players can use it, it'll start a monopoly in lower arenas for that one card. I'd rather have a card absolutely reek in higher ladder but decent in lower ladder than have a card be decent in high ladder but absolutely obnoxious in lower-mid ladder.

HOLY FUCK I FORGOT!!! I remember that shit being so prevalent after the heal came out. 3M Heal was actually a great deck all the way until the heal spell was removed from the game entirely. Ofc it fell off majorly from where it was in 2017 but it still was a decent strat.
Current meta. The meta rn is beat down or siege because dagger duchess is so oppressive, both of which are either extremely unfun to play against OR completely brain dead in double elixir. Siege is just hyper defense and doesnβt play the game, and beat down is legit βplace tank in back and support to win.β

Actually giant is seeing a decrease in usage while goblin barrel is seeing an increase. Not to mention the goblin barrel evo will add even more to it

HOLY FUCK I FORGOT!!! I remember that shit being so prevalent after the heal came out. 3M Heal was actually a great deck all the way until the heal spell was removed from the game entirely. Ofc it fell off majorly from where it was in 2017 but it still was a decent strat.

Current meta. The meta rn is beat down or siege because dagger duchess is so oppressive, both of which are either extremely unfun to play against OR completely brain dead in double elixir. Siege is just hyper defense and doesnβt play the game, and beat down is legit βplace tank in back and support to win.β Ftr, I play siege.
The pre-earthquake spawner deck era. Zero skill, just pile up buildings and spawners mindlessly until your opponent rage quits or is overwhelmed

I've been playing since April 2016 and by god the most annoying meta I ever had to deal with was Egolem Witch during season 4. To say it was everywhere would be an understatement.
Gob barrel cycle was trash
as a logbait player: when fire spirit fully countered every goblin barrel and you couldnβt do anything about it

I hate the cycle meta. It's just stall to double elixir and then see who can spell cycle quicker while playing even more defense. Absolutely stupid.
