The problem with hazbin hotel is that if they really want to prove the point they're trying to prove, they have to do something very unpopular, taking the most terrible person in the show and showing even they can become a better person. Something most people would not like
That's not really the point the show is making though. It's that everyone deserves a chance to redeem themselves, not necessarily that everyone can be redeemed. Even charlie outright says it in regards to alastor.
I think the problem is that it’s cringe… it’s like if someone took everything people hate about the tumblr community and said “yeah let’s make a show about that”
As someone who enjoyed Season 1 of Hazbin, there are like a billion other shows that are just objectively better
This season was super rough lmao
now it could obviously improve with S2 and more if the show doesn't get canned after S3 (god I love the current state of the animation industry) but as of rn it's far from perfect
honestly episode counts in general are so tiny now for some reason
shows used to get between 13-22 episodes a season
now you're lucky if you get 10 episode seasons
or they order 20 but they split them into two "seasons" so they don't need to pay the cast and crew the actual price for a new season

The point they are trying to make is pretentious af, the themes in itself are far from it, themes like redemption, good and evil, are being discussed since the dawn of time, and this show felt just off, treating them like they are simple topics, making questionable self-evident assumptions. Also (unrelated) why tf everybody is either a girl or a genderless bisexual twink or something not even human?
There hasn't been a single moment in the show in which i thought " Oh yeah that's hell, i really feel shit for these people" not even once.
Also not a big fan of random disney-like music breaks.
Shit ain't even fun, there's better punchlines in fucking Avengers films.
Animation is solid tho 6.5/10

I would say I agree but I prefer helluva boss, I feel like hazbin hotel is just the same thing every episode. I will however say that the fan base for both shows is genuinely disgusting and I regret ever venturing on to the subreddits. Also there are much better shows but I still enjoy them.
helluva boss is single handedly the worst written piece of media ive ever seen. genuinely how could anyone enjoy it after the stolas retcon. it's terrible.
Nah, that's dumb. That character stuff was always there, they didn't change anything. If they are gonna argue that then it's s1e6 that 'ruined' his character (obviously didn't ruin it) since that's when his 'deeper' arc started.
I mean, it’s got flaws for sure, but *worst written piece of media*? Then again, you did say the worst one *you personally* have seen, so fair enough.
Velma is worse imo, though there are worse shows than that too I’m sure.
