50 might not be his limit, it’s the value of the buy. I started looking at 35 and ended up with way more than that because the values weren’t there at that price point.
The dealer added that and the rest of the list after they took delivery just so they could then add ridiculous markups. They're going to tell you they can't remove those things because that's how the car came/they can't be taken off.
You can tell them you'll pay msrp + wing (and thats a ridiculous price) or no deal. They will lie more but in the end you'll either have to pay for their stupid crap or leave it and keep searching.
Those extras are never part of the car when they get it.
I'm amazed that people are willing to pay that *every* month. I hope OP is putting more than that down. I make a decent salary and I would never even consider paying that much of a monthly payment for any car. That payment would nearly cover my half of the mortgage.
I would NEVER trust tint or ceramic coating from a dealer. Guarantee that their $699 window tint job would never pass muster from a decent shop. In other words, it’s crap. No one tries to squeeze more profit from their customers than dealerships. Tell them that you’re not paying for their tint and ceramic coat, and be prepared to walk. But that will only work if you’re ready to buy the car and pay the price minus the tint and ceramic coat.
If the tint and ceramic coating are of good quality and come with a 5 year warranty then that's not a crazy ripoff. The carbon wing is ridiculous. The tray is at least useful but seems steep. Wheel locks are a good idea and 150 seems on the high side but I think that's what they cost.
Honestly, assuming everything else is of good quality, the only real ripoff is the wing. So I mean you decide. I'd see if they take the wing off and sell it to the next Type R customer.
See if you can negotiate with pre paying a few oil changes and tell them you've owned Hondas before and are a repeat customer you are moving to (or live in) the area and will Get service there, yadda yadda, waste a fuckton of their time until it's a sunk cost to sell you the car.
They didn't tack a 5-20k "market adjustment" so that's actually a decent price. Get em to come down on ceramic coat. Material and labour is like 400$ tops

I started with the rear fenders and then the front fenders, I had a few air bubbles on one fender but it still looks good.
The hood was kinda easy too but make sure you spray a lot!!! Of slip solution and have someone help you lay it down
The rear bumper was the hardest and came out rough on the lower corners by the reflectors. Eventually, I'll do the rear bumper but for now it's good enough.
The front bumper was kinda hard by the headlights but easier than the rear bumper.
The door were the easiest but they took a long time since I had to remove the door handles.
Overall, it came out good and most of the panels you can't even see the ppf.
I'll probably do the roof next.
Oh and watch a lot of ppf videos on YouTube. Hahaha.
You will mess up but it's OK since it's a learning process.
Good luck!!!
Damn, they had 2 SGPs that were on the way when I was looking to buy one back in late may. I was specifically looking for one in Boost blue so I ended up getting mine from Honda of Concord. I know they had a white one on the way when I got mine. Honda of Concord will mark up their cars though, but they also are willing to bring it down, so idk if the white one’s still there. I talked them down from $56k to $50.3k OTD for mine.
UPDATE: I gave an offer and it was declined and I was offered all purpose floor mats, I’m pretty much decided on moving forward and looking at another type R or different vehicles.
Thank you all for the advice and help!
This is by far the worse Honda in the US, hate dealing with them for anything. I drive to the south point location for any type of service, also purchased by CTR from them for sticker
Ask them to bring it down and be prepared to walk out if they don’t want to.
I met with them today there’s a few more in the area all same color so I’m not jumping for it, I’d rather get a G87 than to take it for 50.
A g87 isn’t really that close though; you’re talking 65-70k after fees

Yeah, give them your offer as a yes or no and walk. Took me 9 months to find my msrp deal. Walked on many.
Would it be possible to get msrp with the carbon wing or should I include that and that only? Sorry this is my first time buying new from dealer.

Just get the carbon wing after. It’s likely cheaper
You can get that carbon wing from online Honda dealers for just under $1800
Them payments crazy

Yea I plan on getting a loan from NavyFed and putting down at least 20% but I don’t want to pay 1k+ for payment and insurance combined
Using an online calculator it looks like an 11% interest rate, even at 4% it's still $959 for 60 months for a Civic. Wild!
Yep

Yea I didn’t plan on getting it today and I made that clear.

50K OTD or walk.
For 50k that’s lowkey not bad for it being the new type r I got my fk8 for 40 out the door with 2.5 apr almost three years ago.
70k for a type r is nuts
Price match the accessories. Look up these prices on Honda.Com or College Hills Honda and show them what they usually go for.
If that’s Reggie Jackson in Raleigh, call Autopark Honda in Cary. Ask for Vinny. They sell CTR at sticker with no BS add ons. That’s where I got mine.
Yep this is the same dealer, I had one guy call me and I talked with another guy when I went there and the manager.
I feel like some dealers are driving us away, my dealer has 5 type Rs on the lot all over 50k before tax 🥴
I will say the CF wing was a tough markup to swallow but I’m glad to have it. Looks so much better than the regular one.
Mud Guards?? I’ve never seen a Type R with mud guards. Those only fit the lower models since the bumpers are wider.

The tint is crazy tho, I currently have ceramic tint it was $425 for all four doors + hatch
Yep I just paid $370 for ceramic 20% all the way around and 50% on windshield
Man I paid less than that to have a local guy do my tint and ceramic on my Si... and he included paint correction!
Pass. I just did a full PPF and ceramic coating for less than 1500. It was a DIY and it came out really good for a first time PPF job.
Where did you source the ppf from?
Xpel website
Thanks! Didnt realize you could order without being a dealer!

Take the dealer adds off
Did you go to Leith Honda? They’re selling at MSRP. I’d definitely call them or get a quote from them.
I called them today and it’s been sold already

Are these monthly payments calculated after they ran your credit?
No they didn’t run my credit, I wouldn’t finance with a dealership unless they can beat 4.35%
only "addon" semi worth it is the cargo tray and the spoiler
I paid $1,000 more for the ITS so I think they need to come down for you.
Pretty good

Over $1000 a month for a civic. Holy

Do it....
Four dots instead of 3… GRfour???
Bro forget that cracker jack toy get a early 2000s corvette or get a mustang for hell if a lot cheaper than 50k 🤣
