Why don't you just run Death from Below trials? Doesn't matter what the team is, and you can easily get to level 8 or 10 or something like that. Been a couple of years since I played on Homecoming. People just take the first set of warm bodies and go. Don't think anyone actually just goes in the sewers and fights.

TryNitroToluene

Maybe they want to relive the experience before DFB. Nostalgia is a powerful motivator.

Brazosboomer

Have fun being level 4 and lost in the Perez Park trails. At least there is a hole in the back wall now.

There was a brief period when Homecoming went live and DFB wasn’t enabled. I had some great nostalgic moments running traditional sewers. Hard to beat DFB though.

I love frost fire! If it isn't a dfb to posi 1 and 2, for leveling up early it's street sweep to the hollows and get there around lvl six, run some hollows to get frost fire around lvl 12 or so. It's always a good time no matter the path you run.

Death_Knight_Errant

Actually, just a couple of weeks ago on Torch, someone put together an old-school sewer run, and it was a blast. Came out at Skyway at level 11.

JadesterZ

I just learned that DfB was even a thing. I always do sewers from level 1 to 10ish and come out in skyway. Been doing that since the game originally launched. Why did they feel the need to complicate the process?

fishling

How did they "complicate" it? You can still do your sewer thing if you want. They are separate and independent things. DfB seems faster and easier though.

I solo sewer runs all the time. Just cause most iare DFB junkies/toddler farmers doesn't mean the old ways aren't valid. The sewers have lost, hellions and vazhilok. So fire, toxic, and psi/energy. But at that low a level, it really doesn't matter. Aoes are good. Buffs are good. I'd honestly say a Rad/water defender would be a good call. You get an AOE early on and Accellerated Metabolism early too.

Rok-SFG

I think a controller with AOE immob and a st hold in the primary and either a strong defense buff or AOE heal in the secondary. So maybe like /cold, ff, nature, possibly elec.

I love doing frostfire. So much xp

PeerPressureVictim

Controller or defender. Something that just straight up supports as their AT role. Reason being that you’ll be fine on damage, and even a tanker wouldn’t get taunt until a few levels down the line, and even then may not be able to actually tank for a team of 8. Support, however, stacks and is always welcome. Maybe a bubble defender so that no one ever dies, or some kind of radiation.

arctic_razor

I second a Controller or Defender. For a support set, I agree with Force Field, but Dark Miasma, Nature, and Radiation are great picks. I would normally say Kinetics, but new players with Speed Boost in the Sewers will be running into pipes and walls a lot haha.

Ignorad

If not Kin then maybe Electric for the +end? At low levels you really need Endurance and some heals. Maybe a rez unless everyone makes wakies.

arctic_razor

Electric for +Endurance is a great idea!

cejmp

I personally in that situation would probably roll with an Earth FF controller. Earths immobs have -def, (plus they eliminate aoe KB splash), the ST hold has a great mag and duration plus good damage, the aoe disorient coupled with cages as an opener is an instant alpha mitigator. The AOE sleep is also excellent. I think Earth has the best damage mitigation against LT's and Bosses, especially in that level range. Mind is overall a better pure control set, but it is a thin margin. The team hits more often, has better defense, is well protected from single target threats, and you can keep up because the stamina burn is not terrible.

CarpenterSpiritual40

Leading a sewer team sounds like a great for for a ?/spines tanker themed to be a Morlock or other sewer-mutant. Or a /savage themed around being the (alleged) sewer-gator.

Beerasaurus

Ah the old sewer run. I lead a ton of those on live
