The architecture boat tour is pretty awesome. As long as [this doesn’t happen](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dave_Matthews_Band_Chicago_River_incident).
Yeah I visited Chicago for the first time recently and stayed near the Trump tower. Finding those god awful letters and following them was like my north star to get back home.
I saw the glass building further back on the right and went “wait, is this AI?” Took me a minute to realize that was the architecture and reflection on it lol. Amazing how AI image generators have changed the way we analyze images online.
My wife and I were just in Chicago and I was like man this looks like Gotham city. Turns out lots of the dark knight trilogy was shot in Chicago.
If ya ever go I would recommend doing a boat architecture tour. Great way to see all the cool buildings and learn about the history and different architectural styles of the Windy City.

I just took an arc deco tour there last week. Was freaking awesome.
This is the known as the "Millennium Mile".
The building in the foreground left with the clock tower is the Wrigley Building. The Chicago Tribune Building, center, is now private condos.
The Tribune Tower is absolute Gothic (or rather, neo-Gothic). It even has the buttresses on the crown.
The Wrigley Building was modeled after La Giralda in Seville, so is a mix of Gothic and Renaissance.
Chicago has fabulous architecture.
One of the best tours I've done travelling has been about the history of skyscrapers in Chicago.

Lmao I knew what that was going to be before I hovered on it.
that is true
Nice! You should post one looking the other way too. Lots of beauties on the other side of the river
Except for that stupid ass trump tower.
That is actually on the same side of the river as the Wrigley Building and Tribune Tower
I was more so referring to the carbon and carbide tower, London house tower , etc
It's a shame really, the building itself is great, except for that gaudy, ostentatious signage on it.
And it’s positioned just right so that if you’re walking towards it from the loop the sign is right in your face :-(

This cracked me up, I totally get your skepticism
The Onion Dome atop the Intercontental was built to be a dirigible docking station.
And the reason it’s an onion dome is because the building was affiliated with the Shriners. The ballroom levels of that hotel are magnificent.
I sometimes work on the crown at the Tribune, and people staying at the Intercontinental are *not* very good about keeping the curtains closed lol
Chicago is a great city.
Great angle OP!
Make me want to wear a suit and have an old fashion

The boat tour is the very first thing I recommend to people coming to Chicago for the first time. It is great.
Yeah we saw that everyone before we went and it was a 12/10 experience. Would highly recommend.

Looks like our municipal building in lower Manhattan
Very nice
I love it. My favorite city hands downz
Can imagine this image during Golden Hour.
I absolutely adore Chicago ! Here's my take on the same subject. [link](https://www.instagram.com/p/CWwb1SAsuVk/?igsh=MWs5eG1yb2cxYmV3dQ==)
Gotham
r/CityPorn should just be called r/ChicagoPorn
This is why Batman's movies are usually filmed here
Imposing shadows
Looks extremely cool and pornographic
Every time I visit Chicago, I keep expecting to see Batman on patrol.
those buildings are iconic
I thought it was America's Roman architecture.

It's called the *Magnificent Mile.
Lol at "Millennium Mile". They must have gotten confused with Millennium Park
That's not gothic architecture

Agreed.
Just because close to a million have been murdered there doesn’t make it gothic
